    How came when I disconnect or my game crashes or anything I can't rejoin in any way possible and my Teammate just has to play the rest of the round by himself?

    DE needs a benchmark-only lobby option for unranked

    I just tried my first match online as i heard there was a CBA made already for DE, the game played as if i had 10 FPS which is borderline unplayable, way worse than playing CBA on HD somehow.

    We need a host option to only allow poeple that passed the ranked benchmark to join the lobby or playing custom maps will be a pain.

    I haven't had so much fun in an RTS in a long time and the working ranked match Multiplayer games is a huge bonus for me.

    Thank you devs for working on this and continually patching it so quickly. Keep up the great work!

    As a returning player to AoE2 with DE, the attitude by veterans in this subreddit is a bit disheartening.

    Last time I played AoE2 was 15 years ago. Definitive Edition has brought me back to it and I'm excited well beyond what I expected. Researching build orders, binging tutorial videos, catching up on the pro scene... And naturally, I came to the subreddit to look for other people in a similar point of the curve, excited about the game.

    Now mind you, I'm aware that the game has issues, and I'm perfectly fine with a good proportion of posts calling that into question. This is not about trying to suppress those valid criticisms.

    What bothers me is how, in posts where people are expressing their appreciation and excitement, it looks like almost every response is overwhelmingly negative. The second one is particularly jarring because the OP wasn't even talking about multiplayer, just raw emotion and enjoyment of a game he missed, and almost every response is bringing up all that's wrong with it.

    Now, I get it. The people answering are probably veterans of the game that have been playing for a decade or more. With that experience, you'll obviously notice the flaws of the game way quicker than a newcomer. However, pushing that negative view to newcomers that are excited is not going to help the game grow.

    I've seen many comments along the line of "woobly is better, play there" but you have to understand that this is not feasible for someone in my position. DE is every single AoE2 content released to date for $20, with integrated mods. This unification and ease of purchase/setup is exactly the low barrier of entry that made returning to the game attractive, and the argument I use to try and get my friends into it. I think this is valuable, and hopefully something that the community will nurture, either by expressing their concerns constructively to the devs so they fix the multiplayer problems, or by moving the kind of modding talent that made playing on Voobly possible to the AoE2 DE scene.

    I've heard more than once that this bugginess/performance on release is unacceptable, and I can understand that sentiment. However, it seems from what I've seen that the rate of patches is pretty decent, so I'd say it's early to call it doomed; this doesn't seem like a Paradox situation where there's no support effort at all.

    In any case, I guess the TL;DR is that from the outsider's perspective, DE seems like an amazing opportunity for the community to grow, and I say that because it's been remarkably easy to use the release as an argument for my friends to look into the game again, with a few getting ready to play multiplayer matches soon. I hope the community doesn't dillute that enthusiasm by telling newcomers that the game is helpless and that they should use Voobly instead. Just give it the benefit of the doubt for a while :)

    While ago before Aoe 2 DE was released there was a community member's who mention that they never interacted with anyone during the game play in the past versions of the game, therefore never made friends while playing this amazing game, there where discussions of making a new discord channel for people who would like to communicate on voice chat and share they game play with others,

    I like spectating friends' games while working on my second monitor, however I noticed the game constantly switches the playback speed back to "slower" and that leads to a delay for me unless I put it to fastest and catch up...

    Is there any way to make sure it stays on normal playback speed so I don't have a delay?

    resulotuion is broken

    I have a 4k monitor, the definitive edition has the same problem as the 2013 one, you can't play on 4k because the game zooms out. This wasn't a problem for the first day because I could scale the resolution in game. But as I started the game to day it was completely broken, my cursorwindow and units healthbars are completely out of place Why couldn't they fix stuff like this? I can play DOOM from 1993 on 4k but not a game which released this year?

    When I got the market, I realized nothing was stopping me from creating a few Trade Carts and trading with the furthest market belonging to Bari (red), so all my gold shortages were solved.

    Is it an exploit, or is it intended?

    I cant join my friend lobbies XBOX

    All of us activated xbox pass on microsoft store.

    3 of my friends can join each other's lobbies, I cannot join them. I see different lobbies in the browser and I can join my lobbies but when I invite my friends to my lobby or to someone else's lobby, they are not able to join.
