    DE: 'Colonial age' renamed to 'Commerce age'

    Apparently the word "Colonial" is too offensive nowadays, even in a historical game about Colonialism. IMO "Commerce age" just sounds bad and if they insist on changing it they should have gone with "Mercantile age".

    Seems like a lot of units, strategies are not used in aoe 3 bc the specs are imbalanced. I haven't seen anything about DE rebalancing the game but have to assume they'd do that. What do you guys think?

    How customizable it is?

    To me, the absolute worst part of the original AoE3 is the oversized UI full of dead space killing half of the screen (even when scaled) and the fixed camera distance. I like the new Ui design a lot and the camera problem is clearly solved, but in all those german videos I didn't see any UI customization. Is it at least scalable? Can I change the position of resources? Small stuff like that. Thanks.

    I've been anxiously awaking AOE3DE only to find out wars of liberty exists. I'm thinking about downloading it in the mean time. Is it wise or am I going to put a damper on the DE?

    Conversion

    A couple of the recent previewed have highlighted that the Inca have prestresses that can convert. Has there been confirmation that this is an Incan exclusive capability or are other civs' priests etc. gaining this ability as well?

    I hope it is not exclusive to the Inca, as it doesn't make much historical sense and would not be good for game balance. The Chinese in the AoM quasi-expansion had conversion when no one else could and that helped make them unbalanced. Conversion in AoE2 is quite strong, but at least everyone can do it to some extent and there are techs available to all to help counter it.

    Plus, this is the era for religious conversions in-game. Obviously, winning converts was a major driver for European colonization. This was also the era of major religious wars in Europe, where, say, a Dutch priest would want to convert a French musketeer to their cause.

    Here's to hoping that this iconic Age of Empires ability is shared more widely across the civilizations...

    AoE3 disc won't uninstall

    So I was going to install again AoE3 Gold Edition on my computer. I put the disc in and clicked on autorun. It only shows me the option to uninstall and play. I clicked on play and it says it can't find the files. So I tried clicking on uninstall instead. It shows me the installwizard, saying its preparing, then it just closes by itself. Is there something I should fix?

    With all the SJW and history whitewashing changes I think you guys did a great job but forgot one thing. Don't you find it offensive how there are only 2 genders for settlers / villagers? Only male and female in 2020? C'mon, where are the transgender settlers? Also no black european settlers? How dare you?
