| Greatest matches worth to rewatch? Posted: 05 Sep 2020 05:35 PM PDT I just re-watched MbL-Capoch and thought on what other matches are so good to rewatch even if they are from decades old. Do you know any match worth watching again? The games that qualify for this criteria could be whatever you think it is worth to rewatch, and to give some examples I could mention: the action was incredible, the strategy included plot-twists, the army composition was unusual, that game had an history importance to the community, etc [link] [comments] | ||

If you are playing in a party, you have to re-invite to the party after every game no matter what. It feels like it takes ~20 minutes to find a playable game now. [link] [comments] | ||

| A few questions about cheat codes Posted: 06 Sep 2020 05:35 AM PDT Hello! As a bit of backstory I've been playing the game for a couple months, and I can't beat my husband no matter how hard I try. Since I've tried 'fair and square' unsuccessfully, I've decided I'm not opposed to cheating. Honestly, I just want to troll him a bit and see the look on his face when I beat him (and then straight after tell him how...) I wanted to test the cheat codes against the AI, but it seems that if I use them, the AI also got the effect. Is that the case? After a few hundred hours of I feel too burned out playing aoe 2 so I decided to watch other people instead. However I'm more interested in watching campaign playthrough, preferably with commentary, from new player who are learning the game but understand rts well enough in general. Because i'm 1500ish Elo and since the last week or so i get smashed by every opponent i face. But when i watch recorded games it seems that it wasn't all my fault, but my opponent was just clearly better. And when i check the Account on Aoe2.net it's mostly accounts with a few games, and a big winning streak... You guys experienced the same or is it just me? [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 06 Sep 2020 04:04 AM PDT I play celts, Every time i play against hard i defend their first attacks and got sweeped by the massed briton archers in every game after we reach imperial age even if I feel like I have the game and push almost to end they slowly start to mass and I am terrible at micro so they find a way and snowball out of control, how can one overcome them? I am a new player, I beat moderate AI everytime but against hard ai I am hopeless, any suggestion would be appreciated. [link] [comments] | ||

But never really played online, with DE i tried some lobby games and it is pretty exciting but also a lot of stress. Anyway i played like 4 ranked games in half a year, my last one was like week before and won all of them pretty handily, but I know the games are going to get harder. My problem is that I dont have lot of time to play and cant learn all the useful build orders, I want to learn one BO and play one civ in ranked (i know that its Best to play random but i just cant play that many games). Could you guys recommend me one build order and one civ for that? I really dislike drush because i dont know how to do damage with them, I am very fond of archers because they can do a lot of damage, even in feudal for some earlier aggresion [link] [comments] | ||
| Got my first ranked victories! So excited! Posted: 05 Sep 2020 12:49 PM PDT I don't have friends that play aoe so let me share my experience with you! Thank you all for encouraging me to go ranked, but I still wasn't confident enough until I learned consistently beat insane AI and execute my build order on A and A+. My first opponent just disconnected at start. Second guy mirrored me with Teutons in Arabia , got his eco raided with knights for 6 mins, did a good job trying to stop me with towers and spears, found and killed my vill who initially supposed to build offensive siege workshop, but resigned after saw first ram coming at min 26. Third game was on arena, against Lithuanians, I had siege workshop and knights next to his walls around 20 min, he did single conversion with his monk, but once I got in his base he resigned. Opponents were 860 and 900 elo, looks like people on that level don't have their build orders polished. I am so exited to see how I will perform against higher ranked opponents! Especially against those who use archers. I still feel like anyone who can properly execute archer rush into crossbows with moderate micro will tear me apart. [link] [comments] | ||
