What is the best strategy when I’m playing against my friends and teaming with some one who is the worst player. They know not to target my team member and always rush me late dark age early fuedal. Not enough time to wall and have the military to defend it. What should my focus be?

The Implications for strategy.

Although the Coustillier is OP (likely gonna lose 10-15 on its charge) and first Crusade probably will lose 2-4/TC the foundation these are built on are brilliant.

Every person casting these civs has started the game with "i dont know what the meta is , how do i play this".

Because , getting ecos a age early while staying back longer, having a weak donjon push which can grow stronger, or even getting Cav earlier or going straight UU all foster incredibly unique Build orders..

Something incredible out of AOE is that every expansion new mechanics are released . Rise of rajas had the bonuses that reveal things ahead of time , Great khans had SO MUCH experimentation (Lithuanians relic bonus , krepost , Cumans Feudal TC) and all fostered entirely new playstyles.

Coustillier is a heavy cav Unit that needs micro , as opposed to the shocktroops Paladins usually are . Serjeant -> donjon -> serjeant is a beautifully unique playstyle.

I think the number of "meta breaking" ideas here was a really nice refresh that will be a net positive , once the bugs get patched and the balances are made.
