    Inca fast Tupac

    Posted: 29 Jun 2021 05:32 PM PDT

its me! the guys some of you may remember who posted about the united states fast revolt, well here I am again, designing the incan fast revolt I would much rather call the fast Tupac, for obvious reasons

    is it stupid? yes

    is it competitively viable? no

are doing it anyways because its fun? YES

so this build is essentially a timing push 16 minutes into the game, similar to the India fast industrial, except with worse economy and the word Tupac thrown in the mix. the build order obviously revolves around the age 4 card Tupac's Rebellion, which is one of the most interesting cards I've ever seen. it provides A LOT of free upgrades to your units. it turns your units into revolutionaries (basically caroleans) and every single military unit you own into a European equivalent, with some... interesting exceptions.

the two BIGGEST bennifactors by far from the transformations are chimu runners and macemen
chimu runners are dirt cheap shock infantry you can send in mass through shipments that turn into VETEREN HUSSARS
and macemen are 3 pop samurai units with big beefy stats that you normally would never dream of using. however with Tupacs rebellion they turn into LIGHT CANNONS.

the other unit upgrades are as follows:
spearmen become guard musketeers (we dont really need more anti-cav other than all the revolutionaries)
jungle bowmen become guard skirmishers (another role we don't particularly need with light cannons and revolutionaries countering infantry and goons respectively)
bolar warriors become veteren dragoons (same reason as the spearmen really)

lastly, hurancas become guard grenediers. guard grenediers provide a significant boost, and with this build order we will be getting some of these, but they are a little outclassed by the macemen, so we wont be sending any shipments of them. the ones we get will be from age up.

some more notes before we go into the build order:
    - this is a meme strat, and is intended to be used against timid players who maybe arent as good or aggressive as others
    - im still refining this build order and tossing ideas around in my head
    - you need a map with LOTS of trade posts you can safely get, since we need a lot of XP. I tested this on Aracunia and had pleasant results

without further adu, lets get into the build order!

    AGE 1:
    1. collect crates, que settlers, build a kancha house
    2. 1 to wood, 5 to coin, everyone else to food. as soon as you have 180 wood move the settler to food. as soon as you have 180 coin, move coin settlers to the llama, and then to food.
    3. hit the big button at the kancha for 4 settlers and send your first card: furrier
NOTES: some of you may be confused by this, since pretty much every inca strat under the sun used either 300 wood, 2 fattened llamas, or exotic hardwoods. simply put, this build requires A LOT of food. and when I say a lot, I mean you'll only be mining 300 coin throughout the entire build, and the rest is food with some wood sprinkled in. so we need the food gather rate and yield increase BADLY
    4. age with 16 settlers with "the chief" for 2 building travois
NOTES: the reason we are not taking the food gather increase is because we need at least some measure of protection that 2 war huts can provide, because other than a possible town center big button, this build is naked.

    TRANSITION:
    1. all villigers to wood except like 4 or so. build 3 more kancha houses
    2. as soon as you have wood for 3 kancha houses, 5 to coin and everyone else to food.

    AGE 2:
    1. make 2 war huts. send your second card: 3 tambos. make all of them on the trade line
    2. as soon as you get 300 coin, switch all villigers to food.
    3. send 700 coin
    4. you will likely be WAY over-collecting food for the age up if you do this correctly. if that's the case, hit the TC big button for plumed spearmen (only if you have a major surplus of food) these will turn into musketeers later
    5. age up with "the wise woman" for a shipment

    TRANSITION:
    1. literally, keep every single god damn person on food, and don't change for a second. this is where we get the most mileage out of furrier

    AGE 3
    1. send your 4th card: Camayos (exchanges all food for an equal amount of coin) IMPORTANT NOTE: you need to get 3200 coin from this shipment, AND NOT A CENT MORE.
BE SURE not to send it too early. you can que settlers to make sure you don't go over 3200
    2. continue gathering food and making villigers until you have the 2000 you need for age-up. also send 1000 wood.
    3. age up with the warrior for 8 Hurancas (to be guard grenadiers)

    TRANSITION:
balance your settlers to food and wood as you need it. you will need to build more kanchas for population so that you can send all your age 4 unit shipments. you'll find you need more settlers on wood than food since you gather food so blisteringly fast.

    AGE 4:
    1. time to spend those shipments you've been storing up. start with 16 chimu runners, and follow it with 7 macemen. Tupacs rebellion essentially turns those into a 16 veteren hussar shipment and a 7 falc shipment, which is insane
    2. as soon as you reach 2000 food, set most of your settlers to wood, only leaving enough on food to maintain villiger production. you want as many kanchas as you can get while prioritizing getting the 2000 you need for the rebellion
    3. from here either wait till you get 2000 wood and send Tupac's rebellion, or send 13 chimu's (13 more hussars) and wait another shipment for tupacs rebellion (its not a long wait in the slightest)

    PUSH!!!!

your army now consists of 35 or so revolutionarries, 7 falcs, 8 guard grens, and 16-29 veteren huss, and possibly 5 guard muskets if you called the TC big button (recomend avoiding if possible, it makes you really slow)

CMV: The New Ranked/Lobby System is Terrible and Killing the Game.

    Posted: 29 Jun 2021 06:54 PM PDT

Trying to introduce casual players to the game is a nightmare, and when finally getting into a game it is rarely an even fight and usually a stomp in either direction.

The casual "ranking" system isn't intuitive and seems to make zero sense to me. It's gotten to the point where people with high or low home cities get kicked as an indicator of their skill (which means absolutely nothing).

Alternatively the ranked matchmaking system which was never utilised in previous games, has faced the same fate and is seemingly empty unless you strictly play 1v1. I tried to queue for a 2v2 last night, didn't get any indicator of how many were searching for a game or even an estimated queue time and just gave up when it hit the 5min mark, as I didn't know how much time I would have to waste in queue.

They should just revert back to the old Conscript, Sergeant, Major system and show people's casual win rates (as well as their ranked win rates) to make it fairer to noobs and good players alike.

    inca stealth appreciation post

    Posted: 29 Jun 2021 10:55 AM PDT

just wanted to spend a post appreciating incan cloud fortresses that let your wat huts and forts go into stealth... the pops it allows you to perform on opponents will always be legendary, and putting your military into a stealth fortress will always be hilarious as your opponent watches them disappear into thin air

also, i miss the days when chimu runners could stealth with no speed penalty with an age 4 card. loved sending them into oponents eco and then just trolling them by waiting 3 minutes for them to fix all their walls and then hitting their eco and making them think i hacked

The Difficulty Between Moderate and Hard, is unbalanced.

    Posted: 29 Jun 2021 04:17 PM PDT

    Playing on Moderate:

Pretty much I rarely see the enemy ever attack me. I'm into the final age and often don't even remember ever getting attacked once. They react so slow, don't use any real strategies against me, and then I steamroll them.

I can easily do a 1v2 AI on Moderate.

    Playing on Hard:

I get rushed super early... Every. Single. Game. Without question. They use good strategies, I even see the AI kite and can even target my artillery if they get close enough. Every single game on Hard I play I get rushed throughout the entire game. The AI will decimate my entire town and then run away. Afterwards I rebuild a small force, my eco is barely held alive, and I get crushed again. Then they leave my TC and retreat. Same thing happens.

    I can't even do a 1v1 on Hard.

There needs to be a difficulty in between Moderate and Hard or maybe make it to where on Moderate the AI actually attacks slightly more often, but obviously not with efficiency/good comps all the time.

For Hard a nerf to them rushing or randomizing that so early, plus not sure if the AI cheats in Age 3 still or not? But for whatever AI exists on Hard they're good enough to not need the Cheating if that's the case.

My brother and I even played a private online match recently. A few times. We get absolutely destroyed in a 2v2 against Hard. In a 2v2 against Moderate it's just simply way too easy. It just doesn't feel like it's right. We have to completely struggle and help defend eachother in a 2v1 against a Hard AI even, but of course we can manage to eventually win in late game.

The Ai difficulty is right there... The perfect difficulty would be between Moderate and Hard for me.

    getting back into inca

    Posted: 29 Jun 2021 07:24 AM PDT

my main has been united states, but i wanna play my old pal inca again. the problem is i dont remember shit about their build orders

also to my knowledge, the kancha boom isnt as strong anymore correct?

i just need a reminder for:

standard opening: what's my initial build order from the beginning through transition? about how many settlers should i be aiming to age up with?

FF build order: i hate rushes. never really been my style. all for early aggression, but that's different than a rush. the exception is native builds those are fun

the proper boom/turtle: the big thing i know inca is really good at

best late game units: i know hurancas are insane, and so are chimu, and i know plumed spearmen aren't quite as insane as they were before, but still really good, and that jungle bowmen are always amazing cause they can fight their counters, but have bolas warriars finally become usable or are plumed spearmen still the go-to anti cav unit?

How to create Custom Decks for Scenarios?

    Posted: 29 Jun 2021 10:01 AM PDT

Hi people, I'm trying to make some single-player Scenarioes using the Scenario Editor for Definitive Edition and I want to make some Custom decks and then set them as the deck to be used and I can't quite figure it out. I know going to Scenario Data allows me to 'Set Home City' But I can only choose certain pre-made Home-Cities, and when I tried to make a Slightly edited version of a Campaign Deck I Managed to make edits to the Cards but couldn't add any cards to the deck. If any of you could direct me on what to do to make Custom Decks, it would be appreciated.

    Thanks for your time!
