    Me and my dad played last night.

    We both had so much fun. It was his first time in awhile playing one of these things. We did Tours. He got INTO the Saracens base, but never got them trade carts to me-he snuck in through an open gate. ANd all his knights didn't break the gate-he just lost all of them. I still don't know what would've happened if he got them to me. Never protected my TCs by sending Units to me or something-I had to do that myself. I still don't know how to trigger it. I built military early on-spears and spears and more spears-and then in castle, added Pikes, Throwing Axemen, and Knights. I had a blast defending my base. My castle held, my towers held. I got into IMP, he did too. He upgraded t Cavalier, I did too. Elite Throwing axemen-all of it. I cannot believe how fun that was-I finally felt like I was playing a game, for the first time in awhile, instead of a series of check-lists to do, basically...six on food, four on wood, send one to built house then boar...get to castle by minutes 16 or 17...blah. It sucks playing ranked and unranked sometimes. This was actually exciting-there is no build order, only improvising. I had a wonderful time, enjoying the roots of this game again.

    I was red, he was blue. I was the fortified city with farms on the outskirts, he was the frankish army, btw.

    This is one of Ensemble Studious/Forgotten Empires best ideas, ever, hands down. I will happily play all of these co-op scenarios with my dad OR my best friend at any time. I cannot wait for more. You just have to try it.

    Also, if you happen to be the city of Tours, you're in for a rude awakening. You have no military, you start in the feudal age, and you have loads of fortifications...sounds good, righty? No, you're being attacked by Light Cav the second the game starts. You gotta build spears, make vils, and hope for the best. You start with zero eco workers, and only so many stockpiled resources. You also cannot see Blue, your ally who has no base of any reputable size compared to uou, BUT AT LEAST HE HAS MILITARY!

    Got my first ranked win today! Was it sloppy? Yes! Did it take me 25 min to get to Castle age? Yes! Was it 860 elo? Yes! But I won and it was exciting!

    Britons Billmen

    Strong Infantry with some Cavalry Bonus

    Basically a Champion with Halberdier Combined, their Hitpoints could be around 50(60 Elite), and having 6(8 Elite) Melee Attack, with +12(+16 Elite) vs Cavalry and +2 vs Building, with 0/0(1/0 Elite) Armor.

    Their cost could be around 60 Food and 15 Gold.

    Byzantines Varagian Guard

    Gold Cost Champions

    With an attack of 15, 70 hitpoints, and 1/1 armor, these guys are basically Champions with Blast Furnace upgrade researched for them, but they cost only Gold at 40 or 50 Gold.

    The Varagian Guard are only available in the Imperial Age, so no Elite Varagian Guard.

    Chinese Fire Lancer

    Short Ranged Gunpowder Unit

    Tougher version of the Hand Cannoneer at 50(60 Elite) Hitpoints, 1/1 armor, 20 attack with a +5 Bonus vs infantry, and typed as Infantry(Skirmishers doesn't do Bonus damage against them and using infantry armor upgrade rather than archers), but only having 4 Range and 50% Accuracy.

    Their cost could be around 70 Food and 40 Gold.

    Japanese Hatamoto

    Anti Unique Unit Cavalry

    Samurai on a Horse, have a faster attack speed than other Cavalry, 100(120 Elite) Hitpoints, +8(+10 Elite) Bonus damage vs Unique Units, 10(12 Elite) Attack and 1/1(1/2 Elite) Armor.

    Cost can be around 80 Food and 65 Gold.

    Aztec Cuextecatl

    Trash Unit Version of the Eagle Warrior

    With a low Hitpoints of 45(50 Elite), 5(7 Elite) Attack, 0/1(0/2 Elite) Armor, but having the same Line of Sight and weakness as Eagle Warrior.

    Their cost could be 60 or 70 Food.

    Mayan Hornet Thrower

    low splash damage unit

    An Archer unit with 35 Hitpoints, 3 Attack, and 4 Range(can be increased with Blacksmith upgrade), with a Splash damage of 3x3, where the center or targeted unit getting the 3 Attack(can be reduced with armor) and the other unit getting 1 Damage, could be upgraded into 2 Hornet's Nest with Hul'che Javelineers Unique Tech.

    Their cost would be 45 Wood and 35 Gold

    Fedex at Chess WC

    Fedex just lost in the Chess World Cup against Russian GM Aleksandr Grischuk, who is one of the best chess players currently and one of the candidates to win it.

    I know a lot of the AOE community supported him on this journey but I wanted to congratulate him for his show despite not getting into the top players of the competition, he still did really good, had a really though competition against his previous rival (Bulgarian GM Momchil Nikolov).

    Biggest empire wars scalps

    Played and won my first ever game of empire wars last night. Just used it as a quick game to warm up before playing a ranked RM game. Scout rushed the opponent on ring fortress who tried quick walling to deal with some of it but didn't quite pull it off. Was happy and surprised when I looked at their RM elo (1300), as an 800 RM elo noob it made me feel good. What's the best scalp you've had yet?

    Nerfing Flemish Militia / Buffing Serjeants [Rebalance Only]

    I'd like to present two similar ideas where we do what the titles says without taking away or adding anything to these units but by redistributing their already existing stats.

    Flemish Militia - HP 60 (-15) / +9/+9 vs. Cavalry/Elephants (+1 each) / Armour 2/1 (+1 melee armour)

    Result - They survive 12 arrows from Arbalesters instead of 15. They take 5 hits from Champions instead of 6. Likewise, 6 hits from Two-Handed Swordsmen instead of 7. They're easier to kill across the board. Instead of an anti-cavalry super Champion, they become anti-cavalry super Two-Handed Swordsmen in effect.

    Serjeants - Train time from Castles 15 seconds instead of 12 (+3 seconds), Donjon train time unchanged @ 20 seconds.

    Feudal Age Serjeant - HP 40 (-5) / Speed 0.85 (-0.05) / Attack 6 (+1) / +1/+1 vs. Buildings/Eagles (-1 each, small nerf)

    Castle Age Serjeant - HP 60 (-5) / Attack 9 (+1)

    Elite Serjeant - HP 80 (-5) / Speed 0.95 (+0.05) / Attack 12 (+1)

    The Sicilians, unlike the Burgundians, haven't made any waves with their win rate. It stands at an acceptable ~48% right now. This is an overall buff to the civilization by making Serjeants the single most well rounded infantry unit in the game. They can take the hit from the increased train time from Castles as they're already easier to mass than your average infantry unique unit due to Donjons and First Crusade. Other than that, they lose 5 HP across the board but gain +1 attack. This makes them slightly worse at taking arrows, but better in melee combat. Likewise, the Feudal Serjeant becomes slower than right now, limiting their role in Feudal Age as they're already a suboptimal choice due to their significant (for the Age) food and gold cost. On the other hand, the Elite Serjeant becomes a significant powerspike if they become faster than the Militia-line.

    On a tangentially related note, the Flemish Militia and Flaming Camel should be available to their respective civilizations directly in Imperial Age without requiring a research to unlock them. The Camel can use the train button 4 i.e. the slot besides the Petard.

    TIL Vikings economy can sustain 3 TC villager production with 9-10 villagers

    My opponent went far ahead in economy, so I took a look at the replay. I always thought it requires 6 villagers to constantly produce from each TC. Turns out not the case for Vikings (time ~19.00 onwards). I thought it was a very impressive execution for a ~900 elo player.

    Diplomacy greyed out only with other non-AI players

    Been having this issue for a few days now. Whenever I start a multiplayer game the diplomacy bar is always greyed out for other human players, but I can change to ally, neutral, or enemy with the AI. I've already unchecked the lock teams option and literally every other option in the lobby, and it still happens anyway.

    Any guesses as to why this is happening?

    I've been playing 4 v 4 rankeds for the past week and 4 out of 10 games has Chinese players even thou I'm supposedly on EU server? How can they repeatedly show up ?

    They not only lag my games but also smurf the flip out of our games going super fast, fast castles and castle rushing etc really just overall unfun to play against!

    My games are overall generally very competitive and it takes lengthy sessions and it feels fair. But against these Chinese, I feel violated especially when they just obliterate my allies less than 25 mins into the game OR me...

    Has anyone seen them aswell or is it just me?

    Why does everytime I change language I need to do the stress test again to play ranked?

    This is probably a bug because it doesn't make any sense. I know Chinese and English and sometimes the translations aren't that well. For example I like to play the game in Chinese but scripting and scenario editing in English. Every time I change language it forces me to do the graphics stress test in order to play ranked. Any fixes?
