    So how do you beat the Hardest AI?

    Well I thought, oh I've been playing against the regular Hard AI for a while now

    Let's try this Hardest AI, and oh boy I didn't expect to get butchered that bad...

    I tried my usual Feudal Aggression by Scout Rushing him, and I killed around 5-6 of his villagers... It was pretty mid-late feudal when I did attack him, he reached Castle and eventually comes swarming with this army of 15 knights all of a sudden, and I was wondering what happened to my nice feudal rush to stop him spamming troops? And I was still upgrading to castle that time, and trained few spearmen, but it wasn't a great survival lol I realized I was losing, as he didn't stop with one round of knights, he brought continuous armies of knights every 5 minutes, and I'm unable to bring my economy back to a stable condition... Maybe in panic, I forgot to scare the Knights with a Monk instead of Pikemen but it seemed futile, I couldn't wall up my gold lines as they were far outside... I usually anyways don't wall up much unless it's really necessary... But he almost never let me get control of my gold line, so now you know how futile my case is... I did train few Knights and all that, but they never managed to catch up with the enemy's on time which successfully wreaked havoc on my villagers everytime...

    I almost never ruined my build order, I was having a decent score against the AI for a lot of time even during Early Feudal

    So what exactly does it take to win against the Hardest AI? As my regular Feudal strategy seemed ineffective, and I could almost never mine my gold or even try to boom as I was forced to constantly defend against his attacks which was unlike the Hard AI which would only attack once in Castle/Feudal and finally attack in imperial, giving me enough time to boom etc...

    And is it a mistake that I don't wall up in the early game? I only wall up towards late Castle/Imperial in 1v1 matches as I kinda believe in Forward Aggression than just defend... So any tips/advice to beat the Hardest AI? Thanks a lot!

    Problem access Xbox in AOE2DE under Ubuntu 20.04

    Hello!

    I just install the Steam / proton version in my Ubuntu 20.04, all works fine but when I just launch the game I get the XBOX popup for sign in into my account, when I click in the SignIn button nothing happens, any idea? thanks!

    What is best to pair with melee cav?

    I'm working on doing better scouting, but what is good to pair with Knights/Cavaliers in case my opponent starts spamming halbs? More trash units? Scorps? I seem to get countered fairly easily by the AI, so I'm working on that as well.

    Chunkiness when trying to play zoomed out

    Is there any fix to this other than playing further zoomed in? I feel like I am at times fighting the game as much as an opponent. The hitboxes seem to be nearly non-existent at times between tiles, and I've lost a match or two trying for 2-3 seconds to quickwall a single tile, something that I can normally do in a quarter of a second.

    Zoomed out is far superior for awareness, but it's like you sacrifice a non-zero amount of click precision. Has anyone figured something out that assists/is there some sort of mod?

    Some civilizations excel at a single unit or strategy on Arabia (see Britons, Franks, Lithuanians) but others are above average in a variety of units and strategies (Inca, Japanese, etc.) I think picking a well rounded civ allows average players to learn the game well. What are your preferred "Jack of all Trades" civs? I consider any civ that has full castle age upgrades, bloodlines, and thumb ring, and cavalier To be well rounded.

    I don't mean they were better or more balanced, but I do miss some old stuff. My old favorites were Korean Siege onagers, Chinese nomad start, and team game pockets being uninvolved in fights until castle age.

    diagonal gates pathing bug?

    dont know when it has happened, but the past few games i've had a really bad bug with the pathing of enemy diagonal gates. for some reason the game seems to think they arent there and my units all get stuck running into them. 3 separate matches with repeateable results (it wasnt just 1 unit and the rest were fine.)

    There was a clear path about 5 tiles to the side, but for some reason all my re-inforcing units get stuck at the gate and i have to way point them around

    anyone else having a similar issue?

    Number of players in empire wars vs random map. Is there any information?

    When playing I feel that the queue is similar in both, is the number of players similar?

    Can't find games online. What am I doing wrong?

    Hello, I have been trying to play online games but I can't seem to manage to find any. I tried unranked, quick play, ranked but nothing. The lobby is empty.

    I bought AoE2 DE on the Microsoft store and last time I played, a few months ago, I was able to play.l online.

    Am I doing anything wrong or missing anything here?
