    Design for an Austrian civ.

Or rather a Habsburg monarchy civ, Austrians or Austrian Empire was shorthand for Habsburg Monarchy in the game's time period and still is today.

Capitol: Vienna of course, but the HC's are generic enough you could rename it to anything you please.

Leader: Any Emperor really, the AI leaders are such a minor part of the civ its more important to just have a fun personality. They only show up when playing vs that specific AI anyway.

Special units from around the Empire.

    1. A special villager that works faster, dressed in typical Alpine Lederhosen. Could also have a little cart or something for visibility.

    2. Bohemian War Wagon. Not really Austrian aligned but a good iconic unit to represent their Bohemian holdings.

    3. A German Landsknecht unit. Originally raised by Maximilian I to protect his Burgundian lands and rose to be an important part of the Habsburg armies. You can hardly represent the Habsburg Monarchy without these boys. The entire faction should have a mercenary sub theme really.

    4. Polish Uhlans from the Galician region. An important part of the Austrian cavalry and they even introduced the famed Czapka that is so iconic on Uhlans nowadays.

Cards could reference the thirty years war and its commanders. And cavalry related cards for the famed Spanish riding school and its Lipizzaner horses, the faction should have a strong cavalry focus. The faction should be a bit more archaic with pikes and crossbows since the Habsburg monarchy goes so far back. So cavalry, archaic and mercenaries are fitting themes. They should have an Hungarian revolt naturally to represent the Austro-Hungarian Empire of later.

About that Inca change in the PUP

    Posted: 16 Jun 2022 12:54 PM PDT

I just feel like talking about the Inca nerf.

My favourite Llama enjoyers have gotten nothing but nerfs the past patches. I'd argue that they are pretty much a dead civ now. Your age2 boom is non-existent, you pretty much rely on natives to rush and they are useless past age4 because they have not realy any arti counter. They are forced into a ff playstyle, which they used to be rather good at and insanly annoying at doing so. Now the agro turtle got nerfed to oblivion already. Huaraca are going to take an enormous hit straight to the face. and I havn't seen anyone use Huanca support in ages.

To be fair I might be biased here but on the other hand I have played a lot of Inca and feel like I have a reasonably decent understanding of the civ. If you ever played them you probably noticed that aoe3 becomes a salt mine real fast. But I guess the same thing is true for Japan. Yet chasqui got the nerf while Tokugawa keeps training 10 flaming arrows wherever he wants. And he does so for like 10 years now and its still bs.

Id like to argue that Inca do in fact need some pretty significant buffs instead of nerfs. I realy struggle to comprehend the thought process behind those changes. Are we going to stop beating a dead horse at some point?

    #IncaLivesKindOfMatterAsWell - fight me

Edit: While I'm at it... Is it just me or is that Pavisier Card just going to be another waste for everyone is going to replace them with besarlieri anyways? You still cant upgrade Pavisiers and they still suck age3.

Edit II: Macemen are a joke. I've pretty muchnever seen them used, ive never seen them beeing cost efficient.

Do you like the Promotions mechanic? Are there any other units that should benefit from them?
