Why is the approval of smurfing so high in age of empires compared to other games? Posted: 03 Apr 2020 07:08 AM PDT In almost every team game i played so far there is someone who says they are on their alt and x rank on their main account proudly and nobody is really mad about it. In 1v1 people also explain to me that they are on their alt after i confront them at the end of the game. Why is the attitude towards smurfing so friendly in this game compared to other games? People in mobas complain about smurfing daily and say that its killing the game so why is it not the same for age of empires? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Apr 2020 11:58 AM PDT I have the basics down for AoE2, but AoE3 seems completely different in how factions are kept distinct (among other things like age advancement and the stuff on the map.) A quick rundown would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments]
I have the complete collection, but can’t play as the Asian factions or Indian? Posted: 03 Apr 2020 04:54 PM PDT Normally there's 2 icons in my desktop, one for Asian dynasties, which (when clicked) allows me to play both expansions. But for some reason I can't find that ANYWHERE in my computer. There's only a desktop icon for "Age of Empires 3 complete collection" which doesn't allow me to play (or even show up in game at all) any of the expansion content I've paid for, long ago. If there's a way around this without having to delete and re-download, that would be great as internet has been slower with this lockdown and I'm only on VDSL internet connection. More than 2 teams without ESOC Posted: 03 Apr 2020 04:17 PM PDT Are there any mods other than ESOC that allow more than 2 teams in a skirmish? Tbh I really like the ESOC mod, but I just can't handle how zoomed in the standard camera is. I used to edit the .bin files to be able to zoom out way more, but ESOC doesn't allow it and wont run unless the .bin is unmodified. Any way around this issue? [link] [comments]
so do most people not use the esoc patch Posted: 03 Apr 2020 06:39 AM PDT I am a returning player, just trying to get better during the quarantine and before the DE. Happy to be back playing such a great game, however, i have realized that most online matches are lobbies not using the ESOC Patch. Is there a reason most of the players aren't rocking the patch? It seems like a no brainer in terms of making the game more balanced, fixing the many bugs, and introducing more content in maps. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Apr 2020 02:15 PM PDT I have played 4 online matches. 3 were with teams so I had teammates to help me and one was a 1v1. I am slightly familiar with strategies and gameplay basics, but I am unsure of how I get so far behind so quickly. I spam villagers and still end up with less. I put almost all of my villagers on food and still am the last one to age 2. After I age up I spread my villagers out more and I still end up having no resources for any troops or buildings or defenses. Am I missing something? Is it based on home city shipments? Are the shipments supposed to be focused on troops/buildings or upgrading the ones you have trained? Pls halp [link] [comments]
Question regarding compability Posted: 03 Apr 2020 03:00 AM PDT Hello, I recently wanted to install aoe3 again to play it with a friend through gameranger. But it seems I lost my disk. Now I saw that the game is on sale on steam for only 9€ and I would buy it without hesitation. But now my question: My friend has the disk version and can only play online through gameranger. If I bought the steam version, could I play with him on gameranger or only with other people who have the steam version? [link] [comments]
