    Not only AoE3 but even Age of Mythology has an option to opt out of profanity filter, so why doesn't AoE2?

    I've always assumed that remastered games are played mainly by fans of the original, especially when the graphics and AI are dated, which is obviously the case with AoE2 DE. Do kids actually play this game, or is it just old folks like me who had it on CDROM?

    Need Infantry civ help, tips and tricks!

    Hey all,

    I've been playing DE for a while and have been loving all the upgrades from the original game. I just finished my 10+ ranked games and am around 1100 Elo . I've been an infantry main since the beginning, originally always played Japanese for the badass Samurais and the super OP insta firing trebs with Kataparuto. I only play land maps.

    Once I learned DE a bit more, I learnt about drushing, flushing, FC etc.

    Nowadays, I mainly play Goths. My biggest issue in ranked 1v1 or even unranked 4v4 arena was that I used to do a 27 vill Fast Castle, then Fast imp. No military, because of which the enemy would easily destroy me.

    Now, Im trying a 21 vill Feudal with 3-4 militia ready, upgrade to MAA in feudal and attack. I can then easily kill spear men, retreat and make skirms if the enemy has archers or make spear men if the enemy has scouts into knights.

    I still need to learn to use the siege workshop well, I almost never make one, since I can take down buildings with huskarls + Halbs or eventually with a treb. Plus it's so easy to play goths, coz you can make mass barracks and pump out units, vs needing multiple castles. I also love me an insta halb army, even though I'm learning that trash against gold units isn't a great idea ..

    I have 2 main challenges and was looking for advice:

    1.What other infantry civ would you recommend I try? - Incas looks promising, but seems complex and expensive with the trifecta of Kamayuks, Slingers and Eagle warriors. - Japanese is always fun, but doesn't really have any eco bonuses that helps a feudal attack. - Teutonic Knights are just too slow. - Berserkers are fine, but only get Handcart and some extra HP on MAA, not sure if they scale well until post imp.

    So I'm probably missing something about these civs, would be great to get some thoughts. And about any others.

    1. Once I hit castle with an infantry civ, I make 3 TC in total and boom. But I'm always in a dilemma, should I spend food to pump out vills or make an army? Any particular early castle age strategies you recommend?

    AOE2DE black screen when start

    Whenever I start AOE2DE the screen goes black and the mouse flashes. The only way i can play is in windowed mode instead of full screen. Any help will be appreciated.

    Finding sheep on Arabia

    Anyone else have the problem of sheep always spawning as far away as possible on Arabia? Anyone have some good tips to ensure I always find them all? I usually always start with scouting In a circular motion from the Tc whilst also using some of the starting sheep to scout to speed things up. Every other map I am fine on but with Arabia they spawn miles away. The last team game I played 2 of my sheep spawned next to 2 of my teammates and he took them without realizing.

    How the hell do you win this mission?

    I was playing on moderate (HD version), I was able to survive the beginning phase after 2 tries. I managed to get both allies and destroyed at least half of red base but they keep a handfull of buildings in the corner and they produce a shit ton of units.

    They literally won't stop making units. Ever.

    I give up on this game, Ive been playing for more than 2 hrs straight, it's 1am here.

    Has there ever been a William Wallace campaign mod that wasn’t tied to learning how to play?

    I wonder what it would be like? Something similar to all the other campaigns that get difficult when you increase the difficulty.

    Changing the difficulty in the learning campaign does nothing.
