    The ballistics icon shows a bombard cannon, which is not affected by ballistics, shoot at a stationary target, which is also not affected by ballistics.

    Villagers unable to build gates in newest patch

    Is anyone else experiencing this? When building walls and gates the villager is unable to actually build up the gate. This specifically happens when having a build queue of a gate and walls. The villagers are unable to build the gate. If I right click on it they walk up and then start walking to various sides of the gate but never start constructing until I delete it and replace without anything else in the build queue.

    What’s the counter to the low food eco xbow mango push?

    Everything about it seems streamlined. From feudal age, archers are an excellent transition unit bc no food. After that, in the early stages of castle, an xbow mass can wreak havoc upon your eco, deny TCs, and all around slow you down significantly. Meanwhile they just put vils on wood and gold, essentially playing easy mode with their eco. Mangonels defend until they bring out their own which they can afford a lot of. If they're mining stone then they can drop a castle on your face too, and you can't deny it. Knights is a seemingly obvious counter but getting that eco going is much harder.

    I don't lose all the time to it, it's a legitimate strategy, but I'd like to know how you guys suggest to best handle this kind of aggression. For example I was celts vs Chinese, so knights seemed unintelligent, or would they have worked?

    I've been dabbling with towering up my base, getting guard tower and such immediately upon castle, getting siege workshop to make mangos to deal with ram, and booming behind, but have not really tried it enough to say it works.

    Messing around with unit range in Scenario editor

    Specifically, the Lithuanian unique unit, the Leitis.

    Leitis are already critically acclaimed for being broken: SOTL establishes them as cost-effective in trash fights, and they are cost effective against several supposed counters.

    so what if we made them even more broken by giving them 1 range based on the actual length of their weapon? These tests assume 2 relics for a flat 20 damage with each hit.

    46v48 Imperial Camel: RidicuLeitis win with 29 survivors
    46v48 Saracen Imperial Camel (too lazy to change back to heavy Camel): RidicuLeitis win with 19 survivors
    49v42 Mameluke: RidicuLeitis win with 4 survivors
    48v64 Kamayuk: RidicuLeitis win with 37 survivors
    50v100 Japanese Halb: RidicuLeitis win with 30 survivors (31 against Slavic Halbs)
    100v100 Khmer Battle Elephant: RidicuLeitis win with 54 survivors

    The one test I did with the Leitis losing was 100v100 War Elephants, but given how difficult it is to mass War Eles like that I'd say there's no reasonable engagement RidicuLeitis can lose- so be glad they're unranged in actual gameplay!

    For teamgames on open maps in DE, what are considerations you'd make for when to go M@A into archers vs M@A and towers. I find myself reflexively always going into towers because I feel like they are faster to help M@A get through palisade walling.

    Portuguese need a buff

    So I know that they just got a small buff making all units cost 20% less gold, which is nice however they have one of the worst win rate and 20% less gold is a nice eco bonus I feel its not enough in the dark age and early feudal.

    My ideas

    Starting feudal age

    Free fetching Or Free padded archer armour, leather archer armour, Ring archer armour.

    Why only free fetching.

    I believe free fetching could be a nice boost to the archer line for them, why not continue getting bodkin arrow and bracer though? I believe that the bonus gives them a nice early game bonus without making it a long term bonus which is what the Portuguese already have with 20%less gold cost. This would boost there archer line for a nicer start in feudal age giving them a slight advantage until the opponent gets the upgrade.

    Why free armour upgrades per age.

    Yes this would be another bonus that doesn't provide much early game. However given there units affected by these upgrades would have a free armour which could give a them a nice boost. This would additionally save on resources, 100F feudal age,150F/150G castle, 250F/250G imperial. For a total of 500F/400G which is a good bit of resources saved.

    So just a few ideas on buffing the Portuguese. What do you think? Do you like these ideas, or have something else in mind?

    Many player title yours rooms on lobby like "NOOB" "ONLY NOOB" "REAL NOOB" "ULTRA NOOB" "SEMI NOOB" F%$@ING NOOB" "PRO NOOB" "TOP 10 NOOB" "AUTO NOOB" ...

    Give more information, and use ELO to match with players with same level. e.g :

    "2v2 Arabia 900~1100 ranked elo "

    "1v1 Nomad 2000++ ranked elo "

    "3v3 BF 800~950 ranked elo "

    Some Chinese players are cheating when they lose aoe games?

    So this has happened 3 times now. When we have almost defeated them in ranked tg somehow they manage to get the game stuck. This is not coincidence or chance. Has anyone else experienced this? If yes, I want to figure a way to get them banned. I have the list of names.

    Are chinese currently 'not meta' in DE?

    I've never learned their unique dark age build order, but I never see pros using them at the moment, and I never ever face them in ranked games (~1100elo).

    Is there some reason? I remember a while ago they were considered to be really strong but I wasn't really playing the game competitively at the time.

    DE disconnects

    Anyone else experiencing random disconnects from ranked matches? I've had 3 disconnects in 10 matches and I've never had them before.

    Screen just freezes and then I get disconnected. It counts as a loss too which is equally annoying.
