    The Hard AI on Jungle Islands does not spread out to new islands, nor make any attempt to attack far from their base. This issue was said to be fixed in previous updates, but still persists.

    What features would you like to see in AOE4?

    What new and interesting features would you like to see in AOE4? I've been thinking about a couple which I think could make for interesting tactical scenarios:

    1. Elevation gives you better LoS and range

    This would make hills on the map and map control more important. I think it would be really interesting to fortify hills and make strongholds that are really worth defending. It would also more closely resemble real life where forts are typically built in elevated locations for defensive reasons.

    1. Units can move through trees/forest at reduced speed

    I think this could be really fun. Your units can move through trees but at half their normal speed, just like a real army moving through a forest. Cavalry move at the same speed as infantry, and siege can't pass through at all, they still need to go around. This would make the full wall meta more difficult to pull off, but attacking through the trees would still be risky as your units are vulnerable to arrow fire while their movement is reduced. I think it would be really fun trying to successfully sneak an army through the forest into someone's base while hoping they don't have towers to shoot you down at the other end.

    What other features would make the game really interesting?

    Standardised Arabia map for comparing builds?

    If there isn't one already it would be good to have a map or map seed that is recognised as a "standard arabia map" that is identical every time (or just a particular seed) and has the resources placed at average distances and nothing unusual about the spawn.

    Idea would be that people could use this standard map to more directly compare builds, have leaderboards for castle times or whatever other metric you want to use.

    You could even have mods to provide a "ghost lap" to compare your previous best attempt or a recognised fast time.

    Team disconnects after every ranked team game

    When my friend and I play ranked team games it disconnects the party between every game and it used to keep the party together. Is anyone else experiencing this? Not a big deal but still annoying to need to reconnect

    Why do I suck?

    I got into this game when it first came out and played off and on into the mid-2000's. Got back into it maybe 7-8 years ago, then stopped for a while. Now I'm back into it. I've been playing a lot for a few months now. I know the basic mechanics of the game. I understand counters. I practice build orders. I follow multiple Youtube channelsI'm not perfect with hotkeys but I'm getting better. My biggest early game weakness is scouting. Sometimes I lose my scout but I usually gather enough intel for an early attack. Still, no matter what I do, I can't even make it to 900 Elo. I get close, like within 15-20 points, and then I just start losing. Badly. I have no expectations of ever being a pro, but it feels like I'm missing something. I watch stuff like Low Elo Legends and see people rated higher than me with less understanding of build orders, mechanics, etc. What am I doing wrong?

    How to counter hoang celt rush?

    I guess that's the question.
    1500 ELO lost 2 times in a row against the same guy using celts and doing hoang rush. I was vikings both times.

    1st game I tried to play meta, drush to defend, feudal age with 23/24 vills, then forward tower in his gold and archers to try to break in... -> He was fully double walled and he counter tower the tower that I put in his gold, then castle age, knights, etc.
    2nd game I tried offensive drush but I forgot loom and we trade vills in both bases, similar castle time, tried some tower next to tc to defend and pikes -> Same outcome, knights kills everything with siege.

    Is there any "recipe" to counter this strat?

    I was thinking something like, dark age fully walled before mill even (to avoid those 4 fast annoying militias) and the FC with no military at all, then siege, monks and guard tower to defend.

    Anyone else having chronic connection/networking problems.

    Attempting to do ranked duos with my buddy. Like 2/3 of our matches found have connection issues at the time of finding a match. Get dropped in the loading screen. Get stuck in the matchmaking screen with the buttons grayed out with "establishing connection" until someone force-quits AOE. Eventually after 4-5 tries we get a game where all 4 players are in. This seems way more common this last month than in the past.

    Can anyone from Forgotten Empires comment on any increased matchmaking server instability?

    "Cheat" codes to give enemy AI resources?

    Sometimes AI glitch out or something and their economy stagnates.

    Is there any cheat codes / commands I can send enemy AI a bunch of resources to get them fighting again?

    When I search I'm only seeing how to give yourself resources

    How does unranked ELO work?

    I've been playing a lot of unranked lately as ranked gets too stressful. Won a bunch of 1v1s but I only see my ELO rise if I win a team match, 1v1 doesn't award anything. Is that accurate?
