    Russia inf in a nutshell

    Posted: 11 Oct 2020 03:13 PM PDT

Wanted to point out that in DE, in Regicide as soon as you destroy the regent's castle, the AI just uses the regent as a regular unit rather than try to protect him.

Viability of an alternative method for Lakota and Haudenosaunee to collect gold.

    Posted: 11 Oct 2020 08:40 PM PDT

Before anything this is not a thread to polemicize about the decision to change the way Lakota and Haudenosaunee collect gold, but to try to figure a gameplay trully unique and (I hope) balanced way to do this.

OK, we know that the idea to add the "Tribal marketplace" (it is the definitive name?) was to not make this civs mine the metal deposits directly, when historicaly the closer to gain money/gold/coin was through commerce. But in fact the game is still making Lakota and Haudenosaunee to mine gold just from a building, so what is the point? There should be a more interesting and historical way to do this.

Then we have the Fur Trade, we know this was a big thing for both natives and europeans, and the game already have many animals on the maps, then what about:

1- Lakotas and Haudenosaunee collect both food plus half the ammount of gold from animals.

2- The "Tribal Market" could be build close to wild animals and they would start to reproduce on some time (do you remember Empire Earth 1, on that game animals reproduced by themselves). This representing the management of the land.

3- Add some cards that send you animals named after some of the most notorious historical areas of huntting.

4- Under this mechanic the value of wild animals and metal deposits would be strategically different for Lakota-Haudenosaunee and the rest of the civs, adding another layer of interaction with allies and foes (like it was in real).

What do you think about this on gameplay terms, could be viable?

Feel free to suggest some values and rates to make it possible.

    Spain in DE

    Posted: 11 Oct 2020 02:12 PM PDT

In the Asian dynasties spain is considered the worst civ by a good margin lacking any ranged unit shipments, having a weak economy, not to mention the specialty units not named lancers are considered weak.

Spain also happens to be my favourite. So here I ask what has changed? I saw the change to how spanish gold works, but don't know if it is still an age 4 card. Have there been changes to any unique units (rods, lancer, missionary)? Does unction work the same?

    Aoe: DE Question

    Posted: 11 Oct 2020 07:27 PM PDT

Been reading up on DE and couldn't be more excited for it. But, has anyone seen or noticed of they fixed the issue with villagers just stopping tasks? For example, if you have a group of wood cutters, they will just stop when they have trees right in front of them. Another example is the livestock pen, they will just stop harvesting animals.

I hope it's fixed but I haven't seen anything yet. Thanks!

Is there a chat for counters?

    Posted: 11 Oct 2020 01:48 PM PDT

    Hi guys,

I am fairly new to the game but gather that certain units are more efficient at killing others.

Is there a chart available that anyone knows of that shows what units are good/bad against others?

    DE interesting colors

    Posted: 11 Oct 2020 07:39 AM PDT

Hello, did anyone find some interesting colors to play with? Looking glorious on units but also clearly visible on the minimap?

I changed red to more dark one (0,100,60) and pink to pure white (0,0,100).

You can change default colors in Options -> Accessibility

    Tips for China?

    Posted: 11 Oct 2020 09:53 AM PDT

So with the DE beta I can finally play China without having to grind levels and they seem like a civ that really fit my style, so I was wondering if anyone could throw me a few tips? Also how do you deal with cav as China? It feels like a weakness and I'm not sure if keshik and qiang pikemen are good enough to cover it.

So, how's the multiplayer in DE?

    Posted: 11 Oct 2020 01:18 PM PDT

Played AOEIII back in the day. One thing I liked was the multiplayer had a lot of depth- you could level up civilizations and collect cards, there were clans, chat rooms, a game browser, detailed stat pages for each player, etc.

Only flaw of the DE multiplayer IMO was:

    1. Network issues. People lag and the game slows down to a halt, if someone drops from a game they can't reconnect, people would intentionally lag if they were going to lose, etc.

    2. Hackers. At higher ranks there were hackers which were annoying.

    How does the DE compare?

I didn’t play DE yet, but did they nerf (hum hum ..Japan..hum) or buff some civs ?

    Hakkapelit attack modifiers/unit class

    Posted: 11 Oct 2020 11:06 AM PDT

What is this thing? Is it range cav or heavy ? Anyone know the attack modifiers for the ranged vs. melee attack ? Seems like a really cool multipurpose cav just curious how it interacts with other units
