Noob asking a question: I play treaties with my friend. Posted: 05 Mar 2021 07:42 PM PST I'm an reasonably experienced aoe2 player. But am a noob at Aoe3 (I've played maybe 100 games in my life). We usually play 20 or 40 minute treaties. At this stage I have an understanding of some generic build orders, specially towards the French and the British. I'm a good boom or turtle player. Ie; if the main warfare I engage in is after 40 minutes plus, then I will usually have an advantage. This is in part becsuse I haven't learnt a lot of the regular strategy Aoe3 requires. Anyway. I'd like some advice around strategy, specifically in regards to the kind of treaty games I play. Like I said I usually play as French; they've been helpful to an extent with their superior villagers. But, because of Aoe3 differences to Aoe3, I find it hard to continuously replenish my army, and know when to attack. I've been told that the Japanese are excellent late game players, especially after a treaty with their shrines. Do you think they're one of the best civs to have after a long treaty; in other words, if you are left alone for a long time, do the Japanese come out with a great advantage? What civs have the best advantage after an hour or so of booming/turtleing? [link] [comments] |
Collection of Build orders for DE? Posted: 05 Mar 2021 03:18 AM PST I'm a noob and i finally accepted it and wanted to learn a bit. I did find a post with build orders from like 5 years ago but are there any for DE? And ones that are not half an hour Videos but like written down so I can read them while training? Posted: 05 Mar 2021 12:03 PM PST Hi guys, Where can i look up the pool for ranked teamgame maps (especially for 3v3)? I just started playing and have only little knowledge of the maps ( e.g location of traderoute, enemies base, natives, etc.). Would help a lot to know which maps could appear to study them a little beforehand. Thank you ;) [link] [comments] |
Only getting big performance hits when buildings are being sieged? Posted: 05 Mar 2021 01:28 PM PST Does this happen for anyone else? Im on a i77700, rtx 2070 super, maxed out settings. It usually runs 120+ when there's a not a lot happening, but as soon as buildings are on fire during sieges it plummets down and jumps around anywhere between 35 and 55. What setting should be lowered to alleviate this issue? [link] [comments] |
How to spam musketeers as Russian? Posted: 05 Mar 2021 12:39 PM PST I saw a video where the russian spam musketeers like crazy, it only takes 1 blockhouse to concurrently generate like tons of musketeers, I wonder how this is done? I'm a noob in AOE3, before I thought in order to concurrently generate units, you'll need multiple barrracks/blockhouses. Is this concurrent training a Russian perk? Any idea? [link] [comments] |
Yermak's Conquest of Siberia painting Posted: 05 Mar 2021 09:08 AM PST A great painting with AOE3 atmosphere. Other good paintings from this era? https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b6/Surikov_Pokoreniye_Sibiri_Yermakom.jpg [link] [comments] |
Issues with AoE 3 DE - please help Posted: 05 Mar 2021 01:14 PM PST Just got aoe3 DE on my computer, and I'm having a few issues: -The game crashed after 5 minutes when I was looking at the swedish homecity. Does this happen often, and how do I avoid? -How do I map hotkeys for villager builds (change house to E key, etc)? I can't seem to find them. -The game kind of looks ugly with my settings, compared to the original, and the unit tooltips are small. Any ways to make it look better? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
