| What ELO rank are you and your story? Posted: 15 Mar 2021 07:30 PM PDT I have been playing aoe3 since it was released in 2005. I also remember downloading the beta or something and playing it even before it was out in 2005. I have always been very casual, mostly playing a few games a month 2vs2 online with a friend. I never found a quick game 1v1 in the old game and in DE this was improved greatly. Very easy and fast to find a game 1v1! After the DE came out in 2020 I try to learn and improve every day! Im currently ELO 1000 1vs1and climbing the ladder. Whats you story and current rank? [link] [comments] | ||

| How to beat french calv spam with India. Posted: 15 Mar 2021 01:54 PM PDT I've been playing with India lately. I'm doing well enough vs most civs but the french. If they do a mix of units I have no issues but when they start spaming curasier its almost gg for me. I have all the else cards so I have howdas which are good vs calv and the card that improves hand attack. The sepoys and the rajsput even though they are supposed to be good vs calv get shredded by the splash damage and they cant replenish fast enough like the curasier. Anyone has any advise? | Give me a reason to continue playing Dutch Posted: 15 Mar 2021 06:36 AM PDT I have been a Dutch Main (also British and Japan), and I am a lower skill player. After 10 years of my first Dutch game, I bought DE and started to play again two months ago. It takes me a while to figure out most new nations and most the changes, but I figured out a few ok strategies and desks to play 40 min treaties. Then there's the old problem of Dutch, I always found myself in a economic stress condition after spamming the right composition. Don't get me wrong, I do know which composition counter which for most time, but I still can't keep up with economy. Then after calculating the cards and banks' potential, I realized that I can only have maximum 85ish villager as a normal European countries, and it took me 4 cards to do it (2 cards for 2 bank limits, 1 church card for 2 bank limits, and 1 card to boost bank revenue by merely 25%). Then Dutch's soldiers are not very economical friendly, especially the cavs. I was exploring other countries and I found that Portuguese has better economy, better economical friendly units, and can boom very fast after mid-fortess. Not to mention that Portuguese never need 4 excess cards to have 12+ more villagers. Not to mention op Swed and France, etc. Thus, Dutch is relatively poor for 40min treaty, not to mention how bad they are for normal 1v1 supremacy games. Is there really a reason to play Dutch at all?
