| Got to 1.2k Elo spamming Indians :D Posted: 04 Mar 2021 08:51 AM PST Every single game is someone tryharding with Franks - figured going for the best camel civ (arguable) was the best bet. I've tried defending against Frankish knights with pikes and monks; it never works. It's kind of like a psychological thing I guess - the moment they see camels they stop going all-in on knights. the villager bonus is actually pretty great too in castle age when you're trying to fight + boom. the only game I lost was against a Hun player who went all-in on knights, had more than my camels (+ skirms), and destroyed me. I was always worried about whether I would play well against people even though I play League of Legends and WoW daily. After watching t90 this past year I finally worked up the courage to play a ranked 1v1 match and won. I hope to be playing some more ranked with you all now that I finally got over the hump. Posted: 03 Mar 2021 07:53 PM PST Lately I've been alternating between two cheese strats: Hoanging (Celts 1 TC siege/monk/knights push) for when I get Arabia, and 1 TC Aztec siege/monk/eagle push for Arena. The other day I beat a guy twice in a row with the same Celts strat and he got really upset. He didn't GG the first game (nbd), and the second game he told me "It's people like you that destroy gaming communities." For the record I didn't talk shit or anything, I just lied and said "I'm gonna 4 TC boom this time," so maybe that's what upset him. I blew him off as being a butthurt sore loser, but it did kinda get to me. I know it can be stressful to defend against an all-in siege push, but not always. Sometimes I actually enjoy defending this sort of push, but I suppose that's only if I win. So am I an asshole for Hoanging? [link] [comments] | ||

In no particular order, my favorites are: -Selecting a Scorpion or Heavy Scorpion -The relaxing sound of a whole bunch of Lumberjacks and Miners working away -The Siege Ram attack sound. Posted: 04 Mar 2021 08:45 AM PST I was playing against someone who walled my res the other day, but was lucky that they were too committed and sacrificed their own eco so I won. But let's say they just sneak one vil, and you're so unlucky you never catch it until it's too late. How do you counter it? If you can at all. I find this strat extremely annoying. If doing it right, they only need to sacrifice one vil, but it causes so much idle time for you, plus the res you put to take down the wall (not to mention you wouldn't have much res). | Which Historical Battle maps were redesigned lately? Posted: 04 Mar 2021 12:12 AM PST Mistakenly clicked through to launch the Bapheus scenario in the Historical Battles and saw the map had been redesigned. The 3 Turk factions and the Byzantines were more evenly distributed around the map instead of the Byzantines just occupying the north. The central plateau that the player is generally assumed to occupy and wall off has been redrawn. Now the player needs to visit a stable (home farm) of Osman where they start building. Part of me welcomes the changes, another part frowns at my itch to replay all the redesigned maps now. What other maps have been redesigned in the past few months? I can't seem to find any mention of them in the content updates all the way back to version 39284. [link] [comments] | ||

| Tell me your meme strats you've tried recently so we can all have a laugh Posted: 04 Mar 2021 01:55 AM PST We tried a meme strat in a TG the other night where we had to build every building, including our starting TCs (nomad start), so they were connected to another building. It was hilarious trying to get to woodlines, place farms etc. Of course we didn't recognise our opponents names as they were Chinese characters but when we checked afterwards we discovered it was Vivi, Jibatong and a couple of others. It made the supremacy vills killing our TCs and castles make more sense. [link] [comments] | ||
