- Is it just me, or does the Frank and Persian AI always make like 170 villagers and hardly any military, and all the other civ's AI does an Archer rush?

| I'm a low Elo legend, help me! Posted: 31 Jul 2021 04:44 AM PDT I have been playing the game now for a year and have a fair few 1v1 and team RM under my belt. But I am really struggling to break through the 1k Elo barrier. My max Elo is 1042 (low of 900ish). I have studied a few build orders now (Mayan, Frank's, Chinese, Celts etc) and have a decent feudal time and ok castle time. I know the units and what counters what. But how do I lift my game and improve my Elo? Any tips and tricks are greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] | ||

| Devs pls fix desync on large scale battles Posted: 30 Jul 2021 10:52 PM PDT Played four tgs tonight; first two was on nomad and lost; third one was on arabia we were winning but one teammate dropped, last game was on arena; it was a 2 hour post imp back and forth battle, our team was slightly winning and my game desynced. I don't think it's my pc hardware's fault; I have AMD ryzen 5 2600 six core processor at 3.4GHz; 16GB ram; nividia geforce gtx 1660; and just as a reference my pc can run heavy fps games such as fortnite at 240fps. August) Posted: 30 Jul 2021 11:48 PM PDT With the information on the Steam shop page stating DotD is getting released in August and the AoE3 DLC getting released on August 2nd it seems likely to me that we will get DotD during this year's Gamescom. Remember that AoE2 DE also got its first look during Gamescom 2019 and FE seems to like same dates/anniversaries. This might also be coupled with more gameplay for AoE4, so you can pre order the game and still get DotD "for free". [link] [comments] | ||

I assumed 1v1 would be the most popular game type but it seems team games are more popular. Why is that so? It seems one person going full cav and another going full archers is the strategy 80% of the time. Feels like that should get old. What fun will I find in team games? I'm not sure if there is something that I am missing on this. The mailbox icon on the main screen is greyed out and I can't open it. Do I need to have something updated? [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 30 Jul 2021 11:13 AM PDT I've decided to give this game a proper shot, I played a bunch as a kid but I didn't really know what I was doing lol. SC2 has been my game of choice in terms of RTS for the longest time and I did play a good bit of AOE3 when that was remastered. However my AOE2 knowledge is quite lacking in terms of actual competitive skill. What are some culture shock moments I should expect? Posted: 30 Jul 2021 12:13 PM PDT I would like to get some experience with Aztecs but despite them beeing a top tier 1v1 civ, I struggle to see them thriving in team games. You get a great eco starting in feudal, you can get to imp faster, those seem to be the main advantages. But without thumbring, archers will be lacking starting mid castle and it doesn't get better in imp. Eagles could be decent but they struggle against knights from the pocket and you don't get halbs which could help with siege strategies. What are your experiences, how do pros use them in team games and what important points am I missing? [link] [comments] |
