    What's up with the Ranked matchmaker?

    Posted: 28 Jan 2022 04:39 AM PST

    I have an abysmal WR: 30%, and I'm still getting matched up with guys way way out of my league.

    And I'm not a noob by all means.

    Is WR or any kind of statistic even considered when pairing up people or it's completely random?

    Harquebusiers counter everything

    Posted: 28 Jan 2022 08:25 AM PST

    Title is a bit of an exaggeration, but these things are heavy cav that can outshoot most dragoon-and-musketeer-type units (even caroleans), their hard counters. I've tested a number of matchups in the scenario editor and even with cost/pop-equal battles the Harqs win almost every time. The main problem with them is their 6 range but they're pretty fast too so that's less of a deal than it might seem.

    Been doing British FFs in supremacy to recruit as many of them as I can each game (while winning) but I'm pretty low elo, does anyone else have any dramatic experiences with them? I would assume they'd be especially dominant in treaty with the Imperial Merc upgrade.

    D311 Error

    D311 Error

    I have researched this problem far and wide and know that it is a tricky one. When i try to play multiplayer in aoe3 DE 9/10 times it crashes and i recieve the D3D11 error halfway into the loading screen. The intresting thing is that i have completed a couple of games on medium settings so it does not happen 100% of the time. I completed one game on very low settings but if that is the requirement it is almost not worth it as it looks terrible.

    My main question is if this is still a common problem and that a patch from the developers is the best hope for a solution?

    I love this game and any information that could help is greatly appreciated

    I have a Geforce MX 250 in a laptop (dxdiag below) and this is what i have already tried:

    • Updated drivers (game ready drivers) using a clean installation (info below)
    • Set 3d settings to High-performance NVIDIA processor for AOE in the NVIDIA control panel
    • Set the graphics settings for AOE in windows to high performance
    • General update for windows
    • Changed settings for DirectX according to this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNWdMJMB-P8
    • Capped the framrate to 60fps in the NVIDIA control panel

    In my recent attempt i recieved an error message that said that i have not enough memory resources and it has to terminate.

    Allso, whenever i crashes and i attempt to start the game i recieve:

    Can I mod techtree.xml to make Sioux mine gold and Japanese hunt in DE?

    Posted: 27 Jan 2022 10:22 PM PST

    Finally got a copy on Steam sales. Now before I start editing the techtreey I have a few question.

    1. I found this line in the Age0Sioux section. Would villies go back to digging gold mines if I delete the line? I'll still keep the Buffalo Hide market for long matches though.

    <effect type="Data" action="Gather" amount="0.00" subtype="WorkRate" unittype="AbstractMine" relativity="Override">

    <target type="ProtoUnit">AbstractVillager</target>

    1. Are Japanese villies hardcoded into the game to not attacking games and sheep, or they would hunt again if I remove this line? I don't mind leaving Japanese villies the way it is but let recused Setters and Coure do the hunting though.

      <effect type="Data" action="Hunting" amount="0.00" subtype="WorkRate" unittype="Huntable" relativity="Assign">

    <target type="ProtoUnit">AbstractVillager</target>

    </effect>

    <effect type="Data" action="RifleAttack" amount="0.00" subtype="WorkRate" unittype="Huntable" relativity="Assign">

    <target type="ProtoUnit">AbstractVillager</target>

    </effect>

    <effect type="Data" action="ButtAttack" amount="0.00" subtype="WorkRate" unittype="Huntable" relativity="Assign">

    <target type="ProtoUnit">AbstractVillager</target>

    </effect>

    <effect type="Data" action="Gather" amount="0.00" subtype="WorkRate" unittype="Huntable" relativity="Assign">

    <target type="ProtoUnit">AbstractVillager</target>

    </effect>

    <effect type="Data" action="Gather" amount="0.00" subtype="WorkRate" unittype="Herdable" relativity="Assign">

    <target type="ProtoUnit">AbstractVillager</target>

    </effect>

    </effect>

    <effect type="Data" action="ButtAttack" amount="0.00" subtype="WorkRate" unittype="Herdable" relativity="Assign">

    </effect>

    I don't know if this mod will apply in the original, non DE version.

    1. Are old assets of Fire Pit remain and still work in DE? Community Plaza animation look like crap.
