    The T90 Conspiracy

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 06:35 AM PDT

Fed up of being made fun of for years, T90 pulled some strings to make his style of farming an eco bonus.

And then he pulled more strings so his Twitch streams' message, "Send forth the flaming camels", becomes real, actual, exploding camels.

Folks i have drawn the line from the Giza Pyramids to the Great Wall of China...it is undeniable now...next month the competitive map pool will be changed to Slopes, Pants, and High Tide.

I think they Should make the Caravel Faster

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 02:10 AM PDT

I Think the Caravel should be a faster ship as it was in real life a fast ship that could cross the Alantic but in Aoe2 it is as slow as a gallon which doesnt make sense

Do the new colors look better than the original ones?

I think the new, brighter colors look better. Maybe Microsoft can make it a permanent thing instead of a temporary change.

I mean no disrespect towards the good guys over at relic, pretty sure they are giving it their best and make a great game.

But I was just scrolling through the high res profile pics in the new stats menu... This old game just looks so beautiful now and gets better every patch. I don't want it to die :PepeHands:

Civilization Match-up Discussion Round 8 Week 14: Celts vs Franks

    Posted: 31 Mar 2020 09:58 PM PDT

    The first two campaigns!

Hello and welcome back for another Age of Empires 2 civilization match up discussion! This is a series where we discuss the various advantages, disadvantages, and quirks found within the numerous match ups of the game. The goal is to collectively gain a deeper understanding of how two civilizations interact with each other in a variety of different settings. Feel free to ask questions, pose strategies, or provide insight on how the two civilizations in question interact with each other on any map type and game mode. This is not limited to 1v1 either. Feel free to discuss how the civilizations compare in team games as well! So long as you are talking about how the two civilizations interact, anything is fair game! Last week we discussed the Aztecs vs Incas, and next up is the Celts vs Franks!

    Celts: Infantry and Siege civilization

    • Infantry move +15% faster
    • Lumberjacks work +15% faster
    • Siege weapons fire +20% faster
    • Will always convert sheep when in LoS
    • TEAM BONUS: Siege Workshops work +20% faster
    • Unique Unit: Woad Raider (Powerful, speedy infantry)
    • Castle Age Unique Tech: Stronghold (Castles and towers fire +20% faster)
    • Imperial Age Unique Tech: Furor Celtica (Siege Workshop units +40% hp)

    Franks: Cavalry civilization

    • Castles cost -25%
    • Cavalry +20% hp starting in Feudal Age
    • Farm upgrades free (require Mill)
    • Foragers work +25% faster
    • TEAM BONUS: Knights +2 LoS
    • Unique Unit: Throwing Axeman (Heavy infantry with short-ranged attack)
    • Castle Age Unique Tech: Chivalry (Stables work +40% faster)
    • Imperial Age Unique Tech: Bearded Axe (Throwing Axemen +1 range)

Below are some match up-specific talking points to get you all started. These are just to give people ideas, you do not need to address them specifically if you do not want to!

    • A classic! So for your 1v1 on an open map, both of these civilizations strike me as just a hair below the highest tier - which still makes them both really good. Celts have a strong early to mid game, a really awkward late Castle/early Imperial, and then a deadly lategame. Franks have a more consistent power curve throughout the game, but can lack the cost-efficiency of Celts later on. Which do you prefer?
    • For your more closed maps, Celts have historically been among the very best. A powerful boom and some of the best siege in the game will do that for ya. However, today we live in a world where Franks are much stronger in late game, and critically do possess gunpowder. For your Arenas, Hideouts, and BFs, which civ do you prefer?

Thanks as always for participating! Next week we will continue our discussions with the Malay vs Vietnamese. Hope to see you there! :)

    Camel Conspiracy!

They added Flaming Camels so people would play more of the under utilized Tatar civ and gather more game data on them. Of this I'm certain.

    20-22 pop builds

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 06:09 AM PDT

When going to Feudal on a tighter build, such as 20-22 pop, is it ever advisable to idle your TC in Dark Age? If I don't, I never seem to have enough food to go up until later.

    Fastest FC into Knights

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 01:42 AM PDT

I am working on a BO with the Mongols going FC into knights. Below is my BO. Please comments any improvements or suggestions. Also, any links to existing BOs that feature ultra fast FC into knights. The best times I am getting is 14:30-14:45, and I am looking for a BO or improving mine to 13:XX.

6sheep 4wood 1boar 1food 1 house —- Here I decide if I need a mill (if deer are close to berries or if I should save wood for barracks/fuedal age buildings)

Next 4 vills to food. Push all deer. Next 2 wood Click up to fuedal with 20/20 pop (no loom)

    Build house Build barracks

Move 3,4, or 5 to gold.

Feudal age: Loom if I can afford, 2 vills to wood Build stable and blacksmith (here is where I would also like suggestions. Is it more wise to build mill so I can build market or should I skip mill and build barracks +stable +blacksmith?)

    Click up with 22 pop.

    Spam knights, win game.

    Currently 1047 rating on DE.
