Please, enjoy - And let me know who redeemed it!
I give away the key, cause I bought it by accident for the wrong platform, and battling for refunds is too tiring, so I will let a random, lucky person grab it here.

    Enjoy!

Could we Sticky a bug thread to the front page?

    Posted: 05 May 2020 11:03 PM PDT

I feel like with each patch, there are always a few bugs that end up being a persistent theme in a lot of posts that end up being made here. Biggest ones right now imo are the Malay uptimes, unit pathing, and lobby browser bugs and it feels like there are too many separate threads on these... Am I just being nit picky or does this actually make sense?

New to AoE 2 DE but not a complete beginner, where can I find the more advanced guides?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 07:14 AM PDT

Hello I tried to follow TheViper gameplay on his Youtube since I could pause and pay more attention compared to his stream and it seems like what he says and does is very different from other Youtbers guides and the in-game art of war. I saw that with most civs you go 6 on sheep, build a lumber camp attached to the trees and not use the adjacent trees to the TC because those are for villagers waiting to build a farm, and put 4 or 3 on wood, then go for the boar and then that's where I'm stuck... (ofc you build houses in between 2 at the beginning and 1 around boar time). Sometimes I see 3 on bushes or more that also build a mill and at times people on wood. Where can I find a guide where it's explained what you should go for? and the various according strategies? I heard that you can go for a tower rush into the enemy resources to damage opponent economy and then build wood palisade around the tower because they are easy to take down without murder holes but there's also a castle age rush strat or instead of tower rush early game you can go with light cavalry archers or militia and I would like to know the strategy that follows. For example: if I go for cavalry raid how many villagers on food do I add to make up for the costs? same if I go for an archer raid how many villagers do I put on wood and gold? and when do I research the lumber camp or farms upgrade and hand cart? I was so surprised when Viper said he usually does it at 50 or 60 villagers I had no idea and thought you wanted those upgrades immediately. There was also a part where he said you should go for feudal age at 23 and not 21 villagers or something like that can't remember but the point is: where can I find a guide beside the "keep your TC active and don't let villagers go idle" ? I need more than that

    Are new Teutons good now?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 07:53 AM PDT

As title states just want to know how Teutons rank now after the buff. I know that Viper was playing them in the Redbull tournament.

    anyone encountered this bug?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 07:17 AM PDT

Sometimes while playing multiplayer my ui gets bugged. I cannot see my or my opponents username. Everything else than the actual map gets stuck in the early moments of the game. I am unable to click any icon in the ui. If I press enter to open the chat, I lose the ability to move my view. I don't know what triggers this all. This has happened multiple times now, not all of them being in a row.

I don't have any mods. I don't have any recordings because I am a noob and the only way to quit the game is by closing the whole programm.

    Civ Without Trebuchet

    Posted: 06 May 2020 06:58 AM PDT

Does every civ have to have the trebuchet? Would a civ become crippled without it? If you were to remove it from one civ, which one would be? (Turks come to mind for example)

    Straggler trees

    Posted: 06 May 2020 05:14 AM PDT

Why did cutting straggler trees become a meme? They are close to your tc and don't require building anything. Yeah, it's probably not the most efficient way but i cannot see why cutting your closest trees is considered a retard move? Am i missing something?

    Turk´s problem and solution

    Posted: 06 May 2020 06:06 AM PDT

I´m by no means an experienced player, but i play a lot of turks, and contrary to what many people say i dont find so much of a problem of running out of gold (most games are over before that) instead i run into the problem of countering diverse enemy armies, especially in TG.

since all your effective units cost gold you cant just toss a cupple of skirms or pikes like any other civ can, for cavarly you need to mass cammels, wich stops your hussar/lc production, to counter archers you need mangonels in castle and siege ram in imp wich really slows down in massing your BBC.

And by the point you can offset this by spamming buildings you either already have an army or your enemy already overrun you.

If the turks are going to be the Gold or nothing civ, then they at least need to be flexible while switching betweeen said gold options, therefore i propose that the TG bonus be changed from " gunpowder units train 20% faster" to All gold units trained 20% faster, if that is too OP for team games, then switch the discount on gunpowder technologies.

Wins not getting registered in AOE 2 DE

    Posted: 06 May 2020 08:16 AM PDT

I had posted this before in some comments and the ask monday thread.

But my wins are not being registered in game. I lost 2 ranked yesterday and won 2 today. the losses were counted in my statistics whereas the wins were not.

Even when I defeated the hardest AI to get the achievement, I got nothing. Someone asked me to change the victory condition to conquest and try. I did that. Won, still no achievement.

Am I the only one facing the bug or someone else is too? Or is this some mechanic I am unaware about.

    Hotkey help

    Posted: 06 May 2020 07:50 AM PDT

I'm trying to set up hotkeys so when I select a villager I can build a building without having to click 2 buttons (economic building then house for example) but rather can just press e for house. I've changed the hotkeys so E is build a house in villager build, and not given a button to economic buildings or military buildings, but now e does nothing with a villager selected. How do I do what I want? What am I doing wrong?

Lag in 1v1 but not in teamgames

    Posted: 06 May 2020 07:44 AM PDT

    Does anyone else experience this?

When I play a 1v1 (ranked match) it almost always lags. I click a unit to do something and often it takes a few seconds before the unit starts doing what I told him/her to do. And usually it only gets worse the longer the game goes, until the point it's impossible to play on.

When I play teamgames (ranked tg) this never happens which is really weird imo.

Anyone know why and maybe even how to fix this issue?

    Wacky ideas thread

    Posted: 06 May 2020 07:35 AM PDT

Post your wacky ideas for the gameplay changes, unique mechanics etc. that could be included.

    I'll start:

New civ with an unique feudal age tech that allows the player to send his infantry to gather resources. In castle you can research another one that makes the infantry instantly bank the resources (like Khmer farms). You get the ability to use your small numbers to gain some eco advantage and steal resources from under your enemy's nose, but on the other hand it's hard for player to balance your villagers around it.
