Is the ''Seven lucky Gods'' HC card from Japan worth it? Posted: 06 Jun 2020 06:22 PM PDT It essentially allows your shrines to produce xp. The gather of xp can also be improved by 50% if you send the ''Heavenly Kami'' card. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jun 2020 07:40 PM PDT One of the most frustrating game states for me is any post-Imperial fight against a fully boosted Aztec army. All my units and army compositions feel so weak against their mass—even when I'm apparently using the correct counter units. I play Ports and Spain. What's the best way of dealing with a full, Post-Imperial Aztec army? Should you delete vill pop to accommodate for their buffs? Usually I just win by defending until the Aztec runs out of wood, but I don't like fighting that long. [link] [comments] |

How to get soldiers faster?? New player needs help Posted: 06 Jun 2020 06:40 AM PDT Hey guys, I'm new so I know I don't have super decks yet, but I am curious as to how players get so many soldiers SO QUICKLY. Even if a teammate asks me to rush and I just focus on food and then wood in age 2, it seems like they will have double the amount of soldiers than I have. Is the trick to just max out villagers and have them in the queue all the time? Or what? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Tips for beating expert CPU with Portugal without rushing? Posted: 06 Jun 2020 09:47 AM PDT I prefer to turtle, or at the very least get to the fortress/industrial age before launching attacks (not familiar with strategy names). When I play expert here's what happens: I gather food with all my villagers as I start, build one house and leave that lone villager (that built the house) to chop wood after. Then I try to get to 16 villagers before aging up. (15 on food, one on wood). By age 2 I send the 600 and 700 wood cards, build a stable and barracks, and make about 15 crossbows to protect against raids (they're not really efficient at that. I also don't build musk's because they take away gold and food that could've gone towards aging up. They're too expensive). Meanwhile I build my second town center close to a wood source and produce like 6 vills for wood, and produce like 10 with my other tc for gold. I also use one villager to try to build a wall around my tiny colony At this point here's what typically happens: I get raided by my opponent with some super strong infantry and a few Cavs and they wipe out my crossbows. And then kill my villagers. At that point the game is hopeless and I give up. Or, I'm somehow able to put up a decent defense (especially if I was able to build the walls) but in the process I lose a lot of military units and have to spend resources that could've gone towards an age up to replace them. They keep coming back and attacking and I keep defending and somehow get to age 3. But by the time I'm in age 3 I don't have much resources. Also, while I was in age 2 I would've sent the advanced mill card and tried to transition to mills that just cost 200w(I'm not really good at herding and most times if I send my vills too far away from home they get killed). So at this point they start sending armies with cannons, which wipe out my infantry who were doing a decent job at defending up till then, and I just use the last of my resources building units to put up a futile defence till I eventually resign. Might take them two or three tries (with cannons) but eventually it just seems hopeless and pathetic, they've gotten to age4 with a strong eco, sturdy army, and fort near my base, while I'm struggling to defend my base and not even close to reaching age 4. It's so frustrating because there's a pattern and I just can't figure out what to do, I've only beaten expert on a water map, I think Amazonia, and that's because I was really able to focus on my eco without raids and I do fairly well at controlling the sea in water maps. And no, I don't like to play nr (now known as treaty). It's annoying because everyone just builds layers of walls and then when the treaty is over it's a race to see who can spam the most units and that feels kind of lame, doesn't really feel like a strategy game anymore. I've tried to look for videos to help me out with Portuguese turtle strategy but they either have no commentary or don't really explain what they're doing and why they're doing it, I know it could be hard to explain while playing but I need to be able to understand what's going on so that I can adapt when I'm playing an actual game.
