Posted: 13 Jun 2020 07:03 AM PDT Fun non-competitive map I made called "Mekong", centered around the idea of dark age ballista elephant cuts: The Mekong River is overflowing with vegetation, but that is no problem when you start with a ballista elephant instead of a scout! Is Druzhina (Slavs) really worth and effective? Posted: 13 Jun 2020 04:42 AM PDT Hi guys, i'm testing this imperial age tech with Slavs but it's hard to see real improvement maybe it's my fault and I'm wrong to expect to win every battle when i can spam my large number of champions but i don't see this Druzhina work very well I'm doing some test in the editor but it seems like when you have a melee fight (for example champions vs champions or vs hussar/huskarl/samurai and others) the fight is just too short to take advantage of that +5 bonus on adjacent enemy. Of course if you are in post imperial and you have great economy no doubt you will have to research Druzhina... but at the moment i don't see this as a game changer What's your opinion on this? submitted by /u/Rikysavage94 [link] [comments]

Suggestion: Make the AI replace disconnected players in online matches Posted: 12 Jun 2020 06:18 PM PDT the title says it all, but to elaborate a little why isn't there a way where AI replaces a disconnected player in team matches. it happened to me a couple times before where i am winning with my team and the. the game crashes or the internet disconnects, and i'm not talking about players who resign but Disconnected or crashes only the difficulty of the AI could be corresponded with the players Elo ratings that way the team would lose a bit of momentum but not just lose because minor inconveniences like this submitted by /u/AboYushin [link] [comments]

Wait, so can I never get the 256x tech mod? Posted: 13 Jun 2020 01:18 AM PDT I've been putting off getting DE for a while, but I heard that the 256x tech was added to DE as a cheat code. I had a lot of fun with the mod in HD, and this was one of the things that set me over the edge to buy DE, but I guess its locked behind an event that is over? Is this a reoccurring event that I would get another chance to get it, or is there another way to get it? Meta when flank cavalry and pocket archer civs? Posted: 13 Jun 2020 04:55 AM PDT How should you usually play when you're a flank cavalry civ with a pocket archer civ? Say it's a 4v4 arabia, flank is franks, pocket is ethiopians or something. Do you go flank archers and pocket knights anyway, and tech switch later? Or do you go flank scouts into knights, and pocket crossbows? Or something else? I'm "new" to playing aoe2 online (I played the campaigns 15 years ago when I was a child) I have been playing ranked games of League of Legends for the last 6 years, last year I reached Master and suddenly my interest in the game diminished, so I want to try new things here in AOE2. I'm already getting to know the memes (11) In LoL you have a Normal Queue (for practice, not so serious, etc.) and Ranked Queue, I have already played some ranked games here in AOE2 but I'm struggling to even maintain a 50% win rate due to my lack of experience. Some people suggest that I should be able to beat the Hard AI before trying ranked and I'm already capable of doing that consistently, but people online do not play like the AI (some are even worse 11) Also, I don't know if this is relevant, but I play in DE. I try and manage them, like I'll try and get my archers to shoot spear men so they don't kill my cavalry etc. But I'm sure I'm not effective at all. Noob needs help countering micro gunpowder units Posted: 13 Jun 2020 12:17 AM PDT Hi guys! I played my first online game yesterday (DE) and got absolutely destroyed by my opponents micro'd Turks gunpowder units. Economy wise I was pulling my own weight (I'm sort of a noob, I reach castle in 17 minutes and make knights with huns) but when my opponent brought on his army my knights were helpless. I tried to make scorpions to counter his units but his bombard cannons wiped those out too. My question is, how do I counter someone who's micro-ing their archers/gunpowder units?
