Thank you for continuing to update the game and adding content, thank you for going though the rocky moments and still not abandon on the game that Microsoft once abandoned, thank you for the work and effort on responding to community feedback. But looking at how they fleshed it out, it looks quite nice. The immigrants system is creative and there are some new mechanics that I'm actually excited to try out. | How Do I beat Halberdier/Cannon Spam?... Posted: 10 Apr 2021 05:44 PM PDT The title is self-explanatory. Is the dutch age 4 Hal/Cannon spam a new meta or something? I've encountered 2 players running France against this in the last 2 days. I had an eco advantage in both games and in early Age4 the enemy shows up with 30-40 stacks of Hal and 12 batteries of cannon... I have Imperial age troops. The Dutch have only 50 vils so this helps having 150 military pop. Their Hals are also exceptionally strong. HOW DO I STOP THIS? In both scenarios no matter what troops I made I got demolished. Musket, hand to hand-wrapped by hals, cannon = demolished Skirms, hand to hand easily = demolished. Hals vs Hals, too expensive for me and theirs still has a light advantage from Dutch If I make horses, Dragoons I have to sit there and micro and not look away for 1 second. Hussars, torn by Hals Cuirasser, torn by hals, Cannons = They always had at least a batter of 4 Culv to destroy anything I could make. I was spamming a combination of musk + heavy cannons + assort horses. Nothing worked. What can I possibly make to counter this? [link] [comments] | ||

| Few questions about Germany from a lifelong noob. Posted: 10 Apr 2021 09:40 AM PDT Hi, as some background info I have been playing aoe3 practically since I was born (well since I can remember) but never really played competitively and never got much better. My whole life I've stuck to playing campaign, AI and against friends - I have only played a few online games (and that will never change). I have gone through all the noob friendly civs; started as ottomans, then British, then in the last few years I started actually improving and switched to French thinking their settlers and troops were OP, where I began crushing all my friends and 1v7ing the stupid, easily exploitable expert bots with xbow spam, then artillery spam or imperial gendarme spam. I still suck at microing, I don't know how to FF or boom or anything like that, I suck at following guides and don't really want to take it that seriously. I do my own thing and learn from my mistakes, I play pretty slow, but it's fast enough to make everyone I play think I am a god. The problem is, I stupidly taught my friends everything about my French playstyle (it got to a point where I was pretty much playing the same game over and over and they stood 0 chance). Now they have switched to French and rapidly improved. I did not expect them to take anything in. I can no longer crush them in a 1 v all so easily. So, I switched to Germany thinking it would be the perfect counter against their xbow spam; settler wagons for a stronger eco, uhlans vs xbows, doppelsoldners vs gendarmes. Here are my questions:

| Posted: 10 Apr 2021 03:31 PM PDT I'm using a VM to play AOE3 DE and it sucks, my Macbook Pro is needed for video editing and I used to play AOE on a custom rig, but that was years ago. I had hoped I could play with this.. and I can, but it's laggy as heck. Is there anything windows in the $500 range I could purchase to play on medium/high settings? I can play normal skirmish but multiplayer gets very laggy. I don't play any other games, but when I found out my favorite game came back.. oh man, I'm beyond excited. thanks in advance, can be pc or laptop. | Getting stuck on "Updating Component Registration" and "Error code 1335" Posted: 10 Apr 2021 06:01 PM PDT Every time I had tried to install the base age of empires 3 game from disc 1, it starts, and eventually gets stuck on updating component registration, then has error code 1335 saying that the file Disc1c~1.cab is corrupt, and I have to close the installer. I had installed the game on here before, but then wiped the PC, and it had worked perfectly before, so this is super annoying. [link] [comments] | ||

Obviously the other team's perspective is they are on the bottom of their map and it's not a North based map. But there's the one where it's a left-right map ... there's a river through the middle and a land bridge at the top. I'm always on the left of that one. How does it work? Is it a mirror image?
