How come 3v3/4v4's often 'lag' Posted: 04 Jul 2020 12:06 AM PDT In teamgames when there are heavy battles the screen sometimes almost freezes, I look at the ESOC fps counter and it's at 5/6 fps. It doesn't always happen, but sometimesit's really bad and sometimes it's ok... I have a computer with 32GB RAM, i7 and the latest GPU so it must either be the engine, or other players. So this is game is from 2005, I think it's hardly possible that other players have computers from last decade, let alone from 2005-ish.... Hence I'm a bit worried about DE as they would also need to fix the engine right? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Jul 2020 03:32 PM PDT Playing lvl 17-20ish opponents i struggle to close games. I feel like my initial push really hurts them but by minutes 12+ they go fortress and I'm done for. Cannons and big mercenary units are too strong for coyotes. My build is age with either skull knights or war hut. Send 10 mace immediately while making FB. Once FB is built, queue up coyotes, send in 700 wood. Attack with 10ish coyotes, 10 mace, and 3 jaguar from big button while pumping coyotes out for support. If I ever have to retreat it means I've lost. Even in games where i really hurt their eco and am off to a good score lead they come back. I can't ever catch up eco in a slower game. Any help with build order or anything like that? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Jul 2020 07:57 AM PDT I play alot of 4v4 with 3 other friends, and I have my build order pretty well downpat for my first 2 ages. Every game though I notice by 2nd age I'll be down by 10 or even 20 points. I don't understand how they can get so far ahead as the first few ages should be pretty Linear. Posted: 03 Jul 2020 05:35 PM PDT With the reduced costs for the complete edition of AOE3 on steam i came back to playing this game some again. Very nostalgic for me since i used to play it a lot in my childhood. I got the complete edition before it was in a special offer and stopped playing it online cause it feels like one of the most unbalanced games i ever played. I love the game and it's mechanics but the variation of civilisations played and how they are played is terrible. It's like everyone is only playing france, russia, brit and dutch which is so unfun to play against. People only spamming their cards full with ressource boxes, some villians and a few units and everyone rushes you down with 60 units at minute 8 and if they don't rush you down then you just get overwhelmed with instant muscs from russia or the most braindead tactics ever: Spamming french gerndarms or doing a russian cav box to raid through 5 walls in 20 seconds and kill all villians. Not sure if i make something wrong since i never got so in-depth into this game as i probably should have to get into playing online and i can only hope that such things will get hardly nerfed so at least every civilisation is at least having a chance. I guess the first thing that sucks when i play it online is my deck which for aztec has some harvest speed on plantage and mills, some villians for age 1 and the team villians for age two. Some military upgrades for the age 3 units and the gold shipments that deliver villagers or units and improves their stats. Aztec was so much fun to play against bots and build up some 25k hp walls which are still recked in like a few seconds when playing online. Almost every of my fav civilisations feel like they are an open invite to rush me down and it is kinda sad how less tactic seems to be into online playing since everything is just raiding vills early with age 2 cav, rushing with russian strelet/muscs or eco the hell out of you while your team is pushing and then spam some completely overtuned cav. Am i the only one thinking like that? But i literally only see one spain or portugese player in like 30 games. I love this game... But... Pretty much only single player against some normal bots. I hope the definiteve edition will throw the nerf hammer on such civilisations and tactics. Still i will put my hopes into the definitive edition. [link] [comments] |
