    Swedish Civ Overview (German video. English summary below)

    Now that the NDA period is over, YouTubers and beta players have been posting previews and videos about Definitive Edition. Youtuber Gaius Julius Caesar posted a Swedish civ preview and gameplay video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXdSuiYYbtY).

    Note that I have only translated and summarized the features. All credit goes to the original. Please suggest changes since my German isn't the best.

    ​

    • Stockholm home city
    • North European architecture (same as Germany and Russia)

    Civ Bonus :

    • Advanced arsenal available from start
    • Settlers can build Torps, a Swedish house + berry bush which collects resources like a settler from anything it is next to (Similar to Japanese shrines)

    Military buildings :

    • Barracks : Pikemen, Caroleans
    • Stable : Hakkapeliitta, Hussar
    • Artillery : Leather cannon, Grenadier, Falconet, Culverin, Mortar, Horse Artillery, Petard

    Unique Units :

    • Leather Cannon (3 pop). Cheap fast Age 2 cannon.
    • Carolean. Musketeer unit.
    • Hakkapeliitta : Dragoon which deals splash damage. Good in close combat mode as well.

    Age Up Politicians

    • Age 2 :
      • 1 Outpost + 200 coin
      • 2 Settlers + 2 cows
      • 500 food
      • 1 military wagon + 1 arsenal wagon
      • Hot air scout balloon
    • Age 3 :
      • 2 Corsairs + 1 Privateer
      • Fast age
      • 1 covered wagon
      • 2 leather cannons
      • Jager and Black Rider availble from Saloon
    • Age 4 :
      • 2 falconet
      • 5 Hakkapeliitta
      • 10 Caronliner
      • Pikemen guard upgrade
      • Grandier guard upgrade
    • Revolution:
      • USA : 1 fort wagon, all forts spawn a gatling gun
      • Finland : 4 blockhouse wagons, settlers become skirmishers who can collect crates, build blockhouses and only collect wood.

    Other general observations about DE:

    • UI/HUD is very clean
    • Building range is visible as a circle around the building
    • The new gun shot noises are pretty comical
    • Different alarms for attacks by treasure guardians and human enemies
    • Revolution still allows all civilizations (except Sweden) to continue settler creation

    Civ Bonus :

    • Can build up to 6 Town Centers, and available from colonial age.
    • Priestess can heal units and convert enemy units
    • Tambo. Foritifed trading post which can attack and garrison.

    Other Buildings :

    • Kancha Houses. Supports 12 pop and generates food. Big button: 4 settlers.
    • War Hut. Big button : All land units get extra armor
    • Kallanka. Trains elite units. Garrisoned units do not count for population.
    • Market. Big button : 1 shipment
    • Fortress. Built by explorer.

    Unique Units :

    • Chasquis. Can build Town Centers and Tambo. Trained at Trading Post.
    • Jungle Archer. Shoots poison darts which damage over time. Good vs heavy infantry and light cavalry
    • Feather Spear Warrior. Pikemen.
    • Chimu Runner. Fast, good vs artillery.
    • Bola Warrior. Ranged units who fling Bolas which slow down other units. Good vs cavalry.
    • Huaraca. Anti building infantry with long range. Good vs artillery and buildings.
    • Mace Warrior. Short range. Good vs ranged units.

    Age Up Politicians :

    • Age 2 :
      • 2 travois
      • Big festival and harvest ceremony (?)
      • 2 villagers and 5 llamas
      • 3 Chimu runners
      • Fast age + 1 Chasquis
    • Age 3 :
      • 1 covered wagon + 1 travois
      • Forest spirit ceremony
      • 1 shipment
      • 8 jungle archers
      • Fast age + 1 Chasquis
    • Age 4
      • 1 festival + 1 tracois
      • Green corn + Earth donation ceremony
      • 3 priestess
      • 8 bola warrior
      • Fast age + 1 Chasquis
    • Age 5
      • 1 festival and 4 travois
      • Excessive tribute (?)
      • 3 priestess + 1000 wood
      • 5 huaraca + 5 mace warrior

    PC Gamer Review

    Summary: the game is good but does not feel sufficiently new to warrant a re-release.

    Edit: Take this article with a grain of salt--it appears that some of the particulars might be from the fan-made Wings of Liberty mod and not the actual AoE3 Definitive Edition. I imagine this review will either be taken down or heavily edited. Thanks to PuduInvasion and Eaglemut for pointing this out.

    Recommendations for USBC SSD/Storage for Mac Players

    Essentially when I made my boot camp partition to play AOE 3 on Mac I did not give enough space for AOE 3 DE as well. Assuming there is no way to reverse this or increase partition space—looking for recommendations on USBC SSDs or other external storage devices. Thanks!
