    Games are prerecorded and casted by MembTV. Cocasters like NovaAOE, Lidakor, Ornlu, Dave and T90 have joined for some of the games and it has been extremely fun. MembTV deserves loads of credits for making AoE2 great again!!

    I didn't see all the game, but some plays which I saw were very interesting

    • Meso civs were a strong pick for this round
    • Straydog is insanely aggressive, and won with Goths in high level play against debutant 16 yo Dark
    • The rumours of Daut being past it are very untrue. He is still tryharding in tourneys
    • Hoang went very aggressive against lyx (another very aggressive player) and had the upper hand mostly WITHOUT Celts. He just ignores his eco and raiding.
    • Some maps were very unfair, particularly TheMax in his 2nd game did not have any wood even when zoomed out in 4K. He won and showed clearly why he's a top 5-10 player in the world
    • repard with the insane TC drop on Hera almost won the game, but the 2nd TC drop was too greedy and Hera punished it with a wonderful villager trap

    What did everyone think of the games?

    I love mongols and Mangudai they seems op to me had a little mistakes in start but I think I handled the fights really well especially kites-hit and run they couldnt even touch my army with their 3-4 full armys so here is the replay if someone bored and want to watch. I'm JamesBong there.

    third time this happened so far once whilst i played a ranked a 4 v 4 and second at a 2 v 2 ranked now i'm too scared to play again my elo's getting grounded cuz of this dumb bug how do i fix this? and will it reconnect if i wait? cuz i most certainly takes more than a minute... there's no reconnect feature too very annoying!

    So I got the DE yesterday and finished the art of war missions and today I decided to play some of the campaigns and started with Dracula but after the narration it just keeps loading and loading. Any fixes to this problem?

    I have gotten a lot better at aoe over the past year. I definitely struggled to win any 1v1s at first and slowly started to win a few. I watch t90s low elo legends videos and I want to know where to find these guys. I am sitting at 900 or below elo and its incredible how good these people are at this elo anymore. Drushes, trushes, micro of low health units in fights. Quick walling. Some of these things I've learned to do and felt good at the time. But I thought I'd get to maybe 12 to 1300 elo before it became commonplace. Is this just common play nowadays?

    Lately I ve read literally all 3 main AOE2 forums (Official ones, AoE Zone and Reddit) and to be honest I found that this sub is more mature than the other sites (No endless balance topics, etc...) But LMAO 11, What I ve found is that two sites used to get some Trolls that made nosensical posts about balancing units and nerfing something,to just name a few (If you are in one of those or both you will probably realizo of who I'm talking about), but well this shows how the game popularity is increasing....

    Boys we ruined the game we love!

    First of all i confess myself guilty of the crime I accuse. When i started my DE ranked journey, I played only my absolute A Game online. I commited to one/two startegies/civs and came to an elo of ~ 1300. After a few month I created a smurf Account to practice other civs/strats not only against the AI (which was too weak). In the first 10 Games in Single/Multiplayer I crushed a lot of Noobs and did't think much about it.

    Since a few weeks I recognized that nearly half the players i oppose with my ~1100 Elo Smurf are Smurfs also. Most confess it openly when asked, some tell stories like "I play unranked mostly".

    A few days ago for the first time I saw the "too many players on this Server" Error and after 5 minutes with Google I learned, that we lost half our Playerbase in the last months and obviously the Servers were trimmed down.

    Refelecting on how it must be to start aoe2 nowadays or play at a real Elo <1200, I think that can't surprise us. I fear at least most top 5000 Players have one or more smurfs, and obviously these are the ones playing the most. So if you are 1050 - 1200 after nearly every second game you have no chance to understand how you could loose that badly, because your opponent played hundreds of games more against skillfuller opponents in reality (with all his accounts). Last week even Tatoh smurfed me with a LeL Account. For me it was fun to get crushed by a Legend but with that beheviour as best practice we won't attract more people to the game we love. And slowly Microsoft/Esport Teams/Sponsors will loose interest in Aoe and we will face what happened in Gaming Zone days again.

    I deerly hope the voobly boys are still around to save our asses, when we have only 3000 Players left, AoE4 flops and Servers get shut down again.

    Is this a common Problem to all competetive RTS with an elo system (in which you can only win significantly more than 50% of your Games by smurfing) or does this happen due to AoE2's complexity, bad AI or community behaviour?

    Maybe I'm wrong and in lockdown winter all people will flock to their keybords/Games again and we will see many more players but i honestly doubt it. I don't have a Solution to this Problem but are really sad atm, cause I fear the boom of our beloved Game could have been a fleeting star.
