Was definitely worth the money for me

Though there are bugs, I am sure they will be patched as the other DE games get updates. Most important to me are the much higher player count and support for ultrawide displays. This looks so much better than the stretched out UI on my monitor and it's nice to see so many players online

    Why DE is the best

My understanding of the Swedish economy

Why is nobody talking about the Inca?(Everything Inca thread)

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 08:26 PM PDT

This was definitely the civ I was most excited to play going into DE and I was absolutely loving every aspect of them and yet I haven't seen a thing on build orders, kancha houses, late and early game economy matchups or even how strong their units are. I do understand their unit roster is similar to Aztecs but am still guessing on how strong they really can be compared to them so I started this thread for everything anyone knows about the Inca.

    Nod to Age of Mythology

Just found this as a treasure while testing some mechanics today in Skirmish. As a long time fan of all of the Age series games, it was cool seeing a reference to the main character from the first campaign in AOM.

    Developer: King Julien / Brendan
    Current version: v.1.0.1.1 - Released on 15 October 2020
    Download: Website

The Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition Flag Maker Pack is a tool which relies on the .PSD file format. It is made for the purpose of making it easier for people to make their own civilisation flags for Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition with as little work and skill required.

This tool does not require the ownership of Photoshop (see below) and can be used by anyone with a computer and access to the internet.

The tool comes with support for 7 different flag types (general flag, techtree flag, definitive UI button, legacy UI button, left postgame flag, right postgame flag, and object flag), each of them having their own visual instructions for the user's ease of usage.

In addition to that, it also comes with a comprehensive visual guidebook, alongside a complete and thorough readme file for those seeking for more detailed information regarding the tool and how to use it.

    Features:

As of the current version (v.1.0.1.1), this tool offers the following features:

    • Supports 7 flag types
    • General Flag
      • Techtree Flag
      • Definitive UI Button
      • Legacy UI Button
      • Left Postgame Flag
      • Right Postgame Flag
      • Object Flag
    • Easy flat photo to effected result system
    • Visual instructions for every flag type
    • General tool visual guidebook (in .PDF format)
    • Readme file with complete information on the tool

    Support:

If you have any troubles using the tool, feel free to contact me via the forum messages, or via Discord at Brendan Boman#2775.

    FAQ:

    • Q1 - "I don't have Photoshop, how do I use this tool?"
A1 - The tool is made so that it could be use by almost everyone, with or without tools which requires additional payment, including Photoshop. This is why I've made the tool in a way that it could also be used by the online web browser based tool, Photopea.com, which allows you to edit .PSD files as if you're using Photoshop. It's a bit slower, but for the most part just the same.
    • Q2 - "Can I use the GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) instead?"
A2 - No. The tool does not work on GIMP as there are a few features which it depends on that are missing on GIMP.
    • Q3 - "I opened the file, but I don't know what to do."
A3 - Once you've opened the file, there will be a layer menu to the bottom left area of the interface. The topmost layer, titled "INSTRUCTIONS …" would contain all the instructions needed to operate the tool. Double-click the thumbnail icon of the layer, and you shall see the instructions enlarge. For more information, see the guidebook prepared in the .ZIP file.
    • Q4 - "Will there be any new features added soon, perhaps as the game updates?"
A4 - As of now, I am always open to keeping the tool pack up to date, and as long as I'm still alive I should be looking forward to upkeeping the tool based on the game updates as well as based on suggestions from the community. You can find the latest release version on the website which would always have the latest version of the tool.

    Definitive edition looks blurry?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 11:38 PM PDT

Started playing the game hype as all hell. Max setting. Keen for a stunning looking game. But...for some reason the game looks really blurry.

Has anyone else had this problem?

If so, did you/how did you fix it?

Is it supposed to be so.... Blurry?

The Tribal Marketplace/Fur Trading feels... tacked on.

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 10:45 AM PDT

Like, I get it, the natives of North America did not mine metal for coins or jewelry, but the way it is currently implemented is just mining with an extra step. Right now Lakota and Haudenosaunee need to spend 25 wood and build time in order to do the same thing as everyone else. And it still depletes a coin mine, so it's just kind of passing the representation problem along. Some possible ideas to fix this:

    • Let the Tribal Marketplace upgrade into an Estate once the coin mine is depleted, or at least let it keep being harvested for experience, instead of just deleting it automatically.
    • Instead of dealing with coin mines, let Tribal Marketplaces be built anywhere, and animals harvested within a radius of it give coin in addition to food. Maybe let it train Beaver that only give coin, the way Livestock Pens/Farms train Sheep.
    • Get rid of the Tribal Marketplace entirely, and make Haud./Lakota dependent on the Market for coin, having to trade food or wood, but give them a better rate for doing so, like Saracens in AoE2.

Really, anything would be better than what it currently is. It feels like the bare minimum thought/effort was spent when the dev team was told that NA Natives didn't mine.
