    For some reason I'm super excited about the new patch. I can't wait to try Battle royale and the matching queue looks awesome.

    It will also be nice to see the balance changes.

    I win 1v1 and loose teamgames!!

    I am 1140 elo in the 1v1 ladder. In 1v1 I can defeat guys with 1100 1v1 elo and 1500-1660 team elo. When I go to the team ladder I get matched with 900 elo guys and we loose half of the times. I am stuck at 1100-1200 tg elo. ¿Any advice to climb the teamgame ladder?

    What’s the best way to counter full wall + straight archers.

    1000-1100 elo player here, a strategy I've encountered more than once in ranked games is my opponent fully walling before I can rush them and then going straight into archer production. By the time we hit castle, he already had a sizeable army and just keeps on making them, and I'm at a disadvantage since my rush failed. Even when I produce skirms and knights to counter them the knights just get hit and runned by the mass of archers which absolutely shreds them, and then the units for countering my skirms move in and flatten them.

    I imagine that I should try to tower him if he's fully walled, and maybe I should raid a bit more so I can weaken his production. I also don't like to use mangonels since the archers just dodge the volleys of rocks and focus fire the mangonels.

    So what would you do if you were playing against something akin to this?

    AoE2 Definite Edition for first-time player?

    I was thinking about getting this game on steam but am unsure. I've never played these kinds of games before and a lot of the people in the reviews are talking about the nostalgia and whatnot and that's why they love it. So as someone who has never played the original, is this still a good game? I've played mobile games such as Kings of Avlon and COnquest games where u have to upgrade buildings, train troops and attack other settlements. Is AoE2 kind of like those kinds of games?

    How to get into UI modding for DE?

    Hello,

    I know there is a bunch of UI modding that is possible to do for DE. The original Hidden Cup 3 Capture Age was one "ultimate" exemple if I'm not mistaken, but there is also a variety of lighter modifications that change fonts, the place of indicators and everything, change some graphics, etc.

    This is something I want to get into. I am not satisfied with the way the UI looks, especially when spectating games, and since you're always better served by yourself I want to try my hand at it.

    However I have no idea what is possible to do and what kind of files need to be modified. Does anyone know the basic "how to" to follow to start this kind of thing?

    Buffing the end-game stats screen?

    I got to thinking today about the end game stat screen. It would be so cool to have all the additional info there is, shown to us. Everything from iddle time (every second of non gathering time), total count of units made and their type, resources lost through battle, resources gathered per second chart, how many times do we get housed per minute or anything similar. It would be very interesting to see all the details. I bet everybody could learn something from it.

    Can we expect anything like that to become a part of regular aoe2? If so, what would you guys be interested in seeing?

    Suggestions for QoL

    I think that DE has had some good quality of life updates by reducing the amount of unnecessary clocking you have to do such as showing health bars and allowing waypoints. I think the game would be improved with some more things like this. I have some ideas which I think would make the game much better to play

    - Auto scout in a circle until I find all my resources. Then it could go look for the opponent. at the moment the autoscout is very bad and never finds all my sheep

    - Make sheep i find automatically go back to my TC or maybe even explore a bit on their own

    - make villagers only get 1 sheep at a time and automatically feed the sheep into the TC

    - have a villager that automatically builds houses for me so i never get housed

    - have military automatically come out when there is enough res i think this would save a lot of clicking

    - autoboom button

    - program my build orders into the game. it would be cool if it was voice actived so i could say "fast castle build please" and then the game would do fast castle for me. I could watch and tell it what changes to make as the game progresses

    Will there be an OP civ that will finally be nerfed just the right amount?

    help explain malay's high win rates in black forest TGs

    Malay has a very high win rate 57.19%. But I wonder what is the OP strategy for Malay? I have tried several strategies vs Extreme AIs, but I don't feel it is that OP.

    How are Scouts and Eagles unable to attack the deer family?

    Apart from these units, which are seen in Dark and Feudal Ages, are their upgrades also unable to Attack?

    One possible explanation can be the Scout Cavalry has a completely different class which can be used for it. But the Eagle Scout is classified as Infantry same as Militia which are able to attack deer.

    Just got matched in ranked with people significantly better than me and my friends

    Me and my friends are all scrubs with around 1500s elo and a whopping 40% win rate and we just got matched against a group of all 1700+s with 70-80% winrates

    Why does this happen? Is the NA server just so starved of players that the matchmaker just throws whoever is playing into a game?

    Opponent does a "gg" but doesn't resign

    Have you encountered this? I've just had such a game, guy "gg'd" me and instead of resigning he tried to muster a counter attack, I was still producing and done 1-2 raids though, until he finally said "gg" again and resigned a couple of minutes later.

    I don't know what that was about, if I paid less attention and stopped playing after his gg he might very well pull through.

    Do you think it's a meta trickery on the level of writing "has advanced to the Imperial Age" in chat or does it break the unwritten contract between players? I'm not so sure myself. Gotta appreciate the guy for trying everything to win.
