Well, that's how MrYo masses his Mangudai. ​ Original Post Title: 夺冠之路 (The road to the Champion) 这次世界杯开始报名的时候,其实我也没打算参加,荷夫说这次比赛估计比较晚,我当时是想荷夫和龙老师组队,中国双子星组队肯定是夺冠大热门,毕竟超过晚上1点我就开启梦游模式,头晕眼花看不到屏幕以外的任何情况,不想再去拖荷夫的后腿。过了几天荷夫又问我,比赛我们2个报名如何,我说龙老师呢,他说龙老师和痛大师真爱组合已经报名了,三哥也和cl报名了,我当时想了下就同意了,逼着自己去扯荷夫后腿,当时考虑的是反正奖金也不高,估计冠军也就1000块左右,输了就输了,到4强之前我一直都不知道奖金多少,就这样开启了这次世界杯之旅。 When the sign-up begins, I(Lyx) did not intend to join since MrYo told me that the game is lasting till late night (in China time). So I join the tourney without knowing the prize pool, and thought that it is OK if we lose. 第一场资格赛对上的离婚导师组,离婚导师和布丁打得很凶,未来成长空间还是很高。由于荷夫下手太重,我们还是过了第一轮资格赛,接着后面2场小组赛都轻松拿下,小组第一出线。16进8淘汰赛由于赛制规定同一个国家只能进1个队进8强,我们被迫和三哥cl组提前相遇,现在回过来想想,这场比赛是我们打得最艰难的一场比赛,第一局阿拉伯我被三哥压制之后就一副死相的等着躺赢,反正荷夫法国天下无敌,单挑cl应该没问题,结果cl马爆更凶,加上三哥的步弓支援很快(我还在种田等躺)荷夫压城堡失败,瞬间大裂gg,第2局金坑看到缅甸城堡起来荷夫还在封建的时候又开始慌了,还好荷夫发展够快,加上中间占了黄金,中后期荷夫支撑了全场艰难把比分扳平,哪不知第3局游牧又陷入巨大劣势,局中我在想这把挂了就危险了,然后又想反正奖金不高挂了就挂了,连续几次差点就说出:要不下一把吧,又忍住了,最终顶到了荷夫起来拯救了世界(荷夫跑路之后发育能力好快,3分钟前他说跑路了,3分钟后说他帝王了),游牧拿下我们长出一口气。最后局幽灵湖若不是荷夫叫我出xx,差点又是一副死相被三哥1打2,艰难的过了中国b进入8强。但是也也意识到问题有点大,个人能力不足,按今天的状态下去必挂,肯定会把荷夫拖进万丈深渊。这里要特别感谢下白狼宫J.K,进入8强之后杰哥说,谁要是能打进单挑积分排名前10就有超级火箭奖励,从那天开始我就每天单挑开始了,我也知道以我目前的水平,进前10基本不可能,但是单挑多打可以提升控制和状态,万一进前10了呢,苦练几天之后明显感觉状态有所提升。 We were facing Bad Koala team in the qualifier, and they both played a good game. G4 Ghost Lake, we would die again if I weren't telling MrYo go Halbs, almost letting Tim 1v2. We merely survived Ro16 and realized the problem is big. My skill and state is not satisfactory. Finland is last year champion, with very strong skills and popular candidate for championship. Max is top player in team game, while Villese is Ro4 in KoTD and 'King of Archers in 10 thousand year' (Nickname made by Lyx). Also Finland has top level teamwork. I looked at the ladder before the games, both 2.4k+, ranked at no6 and no7, very impressive. I was thinking it's normal we lost to Finland. And thanks God that the prizepool is small (as is wrongly recognized by Lyx), MrYo would not blame me too much. G1 Arabia, our score was behind all the way, maximum 1000 score behind. But we were not panicked, MrYo was Magyers and it has Paladins. Finland chose Slavs, which does not has Paladins. So we were able to catch the chance when Max is transitioning into Boyars by having a big military lead. We went into raptures and was calling 'nice' (in English), which shows how much pressure Finland has brought to us. G2 Team Acropolis, we saw Cumans in the draft so we chose Saracen and Indians. In the game, we adjust our strategy accordingly by having forward Archery Range. MrYo is doing his classic 3TC heavy military. Finland would have won the game, if we did not go so yolo in military. G3 Golden Pit, we could not find good civs from the draft. And we didn't think we had chance facing Finland when having civ disadvantage. We did what we can do, though, and Finland did not give us a chance. G4, Nomad, we simply won by civ win. We never anticipated the 3:1 score, but I believed we won in teamwork and strategy. ​ 半决赛打巴西:半决赛头一天我才知道奖金非常高,进4强一人就有1000刀了,跟我预想的天差地别,压力瞬间增大,血压瞬间升高。巴西队也是我们的老对手了,我们对他们比较了解,他们对我们也比较了解,看了巴西跟越南的比赛,感觉巴西队的配合也非常强,大狗打弓经济完美,能瞬间爆兵,miguel马爆能力几年前就证明了自己,巴西跟越南前2局基本都是碾压,给了我们很大的压力。果然阿拉伯第一局我们就被压住了,劣势比较大,还好巴西的昏招进贡葬送了好局,大狗如果强军事我们很难打。后面除了幽灵湖挂了其他几局由于荷夫的超强凯瑞能力还算轻松,如愿进到了决赛 ​ Semi final against Brazil. I only knew how much exactly the prize-pool is the day before semi-final. I have never expected we already won 1000$ each by going into the semi-final. Now I have so much pressure and high blood pressure as well. Brazil is our old friend and enemy. We know them well, and so do they. I felt they have strong cooperation as well by observing their match against Vietnam. As for personal skills, Dogao has a perfect eco and is able to mass archers in an instant. Miguel has proven his knight rush skills several years ago. We were very anxious seeing how they rule the first two games vs Vietnam. Unsurprisingly, game was completely in their lead in G1 Arabia. But luckily, they chose to tribute and that is a bad move by giving away the military pressure. The game wasn't too hard afterwards thanks to MrYo's beast performance except for Ghost Lake. 决赛打挪威:公认的世界第一vip和沙漠之王亚军mbl 目前仅有的2个单挑排位2500+的选手.比赛前一小时我就跟荷夫在yy商讨对策,毕竟对面个人实力超强,2个人有超强的carry能力.特别是看过他们和西班牙的半决赛,每次vip被打崩之后mbl都能站出来1打2,给了我们非常大的压力,打死一个都赢不了怎么办。赛前我们就从选地图和bp开始商讨,主要是bp,我们一致认为他们会a我们会b,我们先选一个,他们会选哪2个,我们再把哪些地图的优势民族选下,包括哪些民族可以放哪些不能放,如果哪些强势民族被抢又用什么民族替代,都经过了一番演练。最后民族选下来的时候各有争对,还是得靠实力说话。 Final, vs Norway. Norway is a combination of 1st player in the world Viper and KoTD runner up MbL, the only two 2.5k players in the ladder. I was discussing strategies with MrYo 1 hour prior the game. After all both players have perfect skills and both able to carry the game. Especially seeing their semi final against Spain, where MbL is able to carry the game every time viper was crushed. So we don't think we can win the game by just crushing one of the players. We start the discussion with map and civ draft, especially civ draft. We discussed in details that what are the good civs in each map, and decided which civ can be given to them, which should not be given to them and what civs to substitute. After some drill, I think we have a fair civ draft with Norway, and it is the stronger team that is going to win the match. 第一局阿拉伯一上来mbl就开始搞心态,荷夫地形本来就不好,mbl不但射了鹿还围了荷夫的主黄金,而另外2块副黄金位置也极差,再加上对面又是黑跳城步弓,城堡第一波荷夫会极其被动。果然当mbl上城堡第一波打到荷夫家的时候,我当时开了视野,切过去看了下,感觉有点崩,mbl的城堡步弓加上vip的满科技封建肉马让荷夫的mm大部分干不了活,而我才刚点下城堡不久。当时我问了下荷夫刚不刚得住要不要救,我的想法是vip城堡肯定慢很多,我想打个时间差,趁vip没到城堡先弄他一波,但如果荷夫说需要救,我必须过去救,那样就会导致vip到城堡无伤,加上mbl本来就城堡很快,经济很好,我们会陷入极大的被动。不过这个时候荷夫坚定的说,没事,刚得主,你去打vip,以攻代守,把mbl的步弓牵扯过去,事实如料,mbl的步弓被牵扯走,保住了荷夫家安全发育。但是由于玛雅经济好,军事便宜,帝王会很快,再加上mbl的军事数量远大于我,局势依然不受掌控,一旦我们被压将毫无胜算,这个时候我们也清楚需要荷夫的1米92才能拯救世界,但是现在离1米92还很遥远,然后我们就开始了漫长而又疯狂的拉扯,打完左边打右边,打完右边打左边,让对面的步弓疲于奔命,加上荷夫的马爆能力超强,支援速度超快,我的步弓经常在1个信号后的几秒钟荷夫就能赶到战场,中期我们利用mbl的主力不在家的机会一波压制mbl,荷夫的马瞬间突入,再加上荷夫用毕生的精力和手速疯狂控马,一波把mbl的经济砍炸,瞬间mm掉到全场最低,但是这个时候mbl点帝王了,如果让mbl玛雅的5.60个代黑曜石的步弓杀到荷夫家,我们依然会挂,不过由于我们进贡较早当mbl到帝王的时候荷夫也点帝王了,在对面大量的步弓军事下,我们如愿坚持到了荷夫到帝王,坚持到了荷夫的1米92,荷夫利用超强的多线控制力和遛马能力,最后1打2带走挪威,我们先下一城,拿下第一局我们长出一口气。 G1 Arabia, MbL was annoying MrYo at the very beginning, while MrYo has a bad map already. Not only did MbL took MrYo's deer, but also walled up the main gold. The other 2 gold are at terrible positions. Coupled with Norway's strategy of Drush into archers, MrYo is guaranteed to be behind in early castle. As is expected, I looked at MrYo's base when MbL is in castle, not so good. MbL xbow with Viper FU scouts has disabled MrYo's economy. I just clicked castle, and not sure whether I should save MrYo or go for viper. I'd love to go for Viper, who I believe has a slower castle time, but if I have to save Yo, I must do so, despite Viper having a smooth economy. But at the very critical time, MrYo firmly told me that he will hold and that Viper shall suffer. As part of the plan, Norway's military began to save Viper and MrYo's pressure is much smaller. But now that MbL is untouched with Mayan economy, he will be imp fast with large number of archers. So we can only be saved by MrYo's 1m92 (that is Frank Paladin, 192hp). Problem is, 1m92 is far away. So we began our long lasted guerrilla war to buy time. We attacked here and there, left and right, making the opponent military always on the way but never in the field. What's more, MrYo is everywhere, he will engage in seconds after I signal in the map. In the meantime, MbL was having bad defense at home, so MrYo seized the chance, micro-ed the knights and MbL has lowest vil count in game. Thanks to our early tribute and strong hold up, MrYo has the 1m92 when it is most needed, so that even Mayan obsidian arrow arbalests can't save the game. We won the game thanks to MrYo's strong multitasking and knight rushing. It made us very relived. 第二局挪威自选斯堪的纳维亚,这个图给人感觉就是名字很好听,据说还是挪威,不知道是不是真的,我们选了2个后期大核蒙古和凯尔特,前期我就使劲搞人拖人,主要还是要靠荷夫的蒙古。荷夫含泪种田,最终种田成功大量的蒙古突起和重冲重投一波带走,我们再下一城。 第三局挪威自选雅典卫城,这局我们的战术是我保荷夫安全上城堡,但是没想到vip为了全局牺牲自己的经济,封建剑+塔+弓压制掩护mbl上城堡骆驼+压bk,战术非常成功,打了我们一个措手不及,导致被秒,挪威搬回一局。 第四局我们自选游牧,我开局爆炸忘了起房子,差点影响了荷夫的心态,mbl一个莫名其妙的兵营改变了全局,一个前置到荷夫脸上的兵营带来了荷夫也放弃上城打封建,然后荷夫封建又打到了vip的石头和黄金,最终导致vip经济炸裂卖了3条内裤才换来一个城堡,荷夫封建的一波强势1打2为这把奠定了极高的胜算,然后荷夫再次含泪种田,中期我对抗vip,最终荷夫种田完毕帝王劝退,我们率先取得赛点。 ​ G2 Scandinavian, Norway's pick. I like the pronunciation of the map name, and I heard it's in Norway, not sure if it is true (Norway is part of Scandi, yes). We chose the two late game nuke civ Mongol and Celts. I drag the enemy down, and it will be mongol's show time. MrYo has no choice but to boom. In the end, his eco brought both of us to Siege Onager, and we win. G3 Acropolis, Noway's pick. Our strategy was I protect MrYo into his castle age. But I can't believe that Viper would sacrifice his eco and go feudal m@a + tower + archer. That pressure connects well with MbL camel + forward siege workshop. It is a good strategy and Norway implemented it well. We are totally off guard and Norway has an easy win. G4 Nomad, our pick. I had a terrible start because I forget to build house by pop 5. However, MbL's crazy barrack saved us. It changed the plan of MrYo who originally intended to go water and fast castle. MrYo has a more than successful feudal fight by disturbing both opponent economy. It is worth mentioning that MrYo towered Viper's gold and stone so that viper sold 3 of his underpants for building a castle (Viper didn't have enough stone to make castle, so he bought 300 stone. He also didn't have the gold so he sold out his economy). MrYo's feudal aggression is what made the win. Again, MrYo has no choice but to boom. I fought against Viper in the mid-game. And MrYo went to imp to help our opponents resign. We grabbed the match point first. 第5局挪威自选峡谷,对面出乎意料的选了一手马来打大象,加上vip的萨拉步弓,我们准备不够充分(赛后商讨应该可以打得更好,甚至可以拿下),虽然城堡第一波我们吃掉了vip的主力,但是乘胜追击的时候上头导致荷夫的马被吃光陷入被动,中期在vip的大量步弓和大量大象面前我们再也没取得优势,再加上vip一波到帝王完美的卡厕所的步弓射光了荷夫的马(这里不得不服vip步弓卡厕所能力确实很猛,一格卡17个),挪威再次搬回一局。 第六局我们自选世外桃源,由于我拿到了这个图比较强势的印加,一切都按计划进行,但是封建初由于小鸟死了没视野冲到vip的tc那波失误有点大,导致mm残血2个,还好去的多,加上防御升得及时还是稳住了前线影响到了vip.第2波mm出发塔mbl的时候实际情况是mbl可以升城堡了,经济非常好,但是mbl忘了点城堡犯了一个失误,再加上他的一波上头送了无数mm,加上外围荷夫杀了vip出去挖黄金的很多mm,我觉得我们有优势了,现在回过头来想想如果mbl点了城堡,然后我塔他的时候他不上mm不抵抗,全部撤退到外围,说不定还有机会。然后我觉得mbl崩了,我叫荷夫去种田,等他后期1打2收割,结果荷夫说我不种田了,我要压BK,我要强军事,我要一巴掌拍死敌人,非常霸气,当荷夫的那个女农民走到敌人家门口的时候直接劝退了挪威。我们拿下第6局,最终在伟大的首领荷夫的带领下,我又混的了一个冠军。 拿下第6局我们也想过,要是没拿下,决胜局组队岛屿对面维京+葡萄牙组合我们胜算不足2成,还是非常的惊险 ​ G5, Valley, Norway's pick. We are surprised to see Norway's Malay elephants, with Saracen archers from Viper, we don't know what to counter at the time (Post game we discussed that we do have chance and we should play better). Although we had a good fight first wave in castle age, MrYo 's knights are lost when we pursuit. We no longer have any lead facing mass archers and mass elephants. Last turning point was when viper stacked 17 archers in one grid, where MrYo did not expect so many archers there (and it's a hill). I also have no idea how viper put all those archers in. It is another game for Norway. G6, Chaos Pit, our pick. It is with in plan that I can play Incas. Early feudal I made a great mistake by not seeing Viper's TC, so I have 2 weak vil. But I pulled a lot of vils and I have researched the armor upgrade, so it's stabilized and affected Viper. Second wave I went for MbL, and actually he forgot to click castle age when he's able to do so. Added up by his fighting back when seeing me and MrYo's vil pick here and there, we have a big lead. Now thinking back, if MbL clicks castle in time and retreat to the outer circle, it might be playable for Norway. In the end, I think MbL is crushed, I told MrYo to boom. But MrYo said, "I have boomed all games long, no more boom. I am going forward siege workshop and finish them right here and right now", very vigorous. So as the game goes, when MrYo's villager arrives, Norway resigns. Carried by the Great Lord MrYo, I picked up a champion. After G6, we thought about a what if G7. I think we can only win in Team island vs Viking+Portuguese 2 times out of 10. Posted: 26 Dec 2020 02:43 AM PST Hi all, I am a pretty low-end AoE2 player, but I work with data and wanted to understand the internal state of AoE2 throughout the duration of the game. As I understand, the score in the game is an imperfect representation of a win probability - a player with a 2k score lead can still throw a game, but it is unlikely. As a result, I plan to 'improve' the internal scoring mechanism of the game based on an API feed of the internal state of the game. Having looked around for some open source AoE clones for easily extractable logs (Openage comes to mind) there doesn't appear to be any engine that matches the quality of the original game. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone has had any luck in extracting log data from the original game (think a stream of data representing the playable map, resource counts and technologies at any point in time) or if there is a good reason, of which I am sure there may be many, why this isn't possible. Posted: 25 Dec 2020 09:23 AM PST Hey guys, as we all know, the Goths are a rather low-tier civ and rather difficult to play. I'm feeling in the festive mood so I decided I'd share my secrets with you all on how to utilize the Goth bonuses best to deal with various threats. We'll go down the list of various military compositions by age, then I'll break it down and showcase what the best response is. Dark Age Drush This is a pretty sudden surprise that can throw a lot of new players off since they expect Dark Age to be quiet. The key to addressing the Drush is to keep calm and spam infantry at them. That way, you can combat their infantry with your own. Pretty simple. Feudal Age MaA rush The key to defeating the MaA rush is to spam infantry at them. This functions much like the Drush strategy and you just need to make sure your swordy guys outnumber their swordy guys. Feudal Age Archer Rush Thing is, if you spam Infantry at them and deny their gold, then they won't have an easy time massing archers. You might think you should invest less in infantry since they're making archers, but you're wrong. The key is to spam even MORE infantry at them so that you're all over the place and hard to focus down. Feudal Scout rush See what a lot of people don't know is that Scouts are just infantry that are also pony enthusiasts. As such, you should handle them much like the MaA rush and spam infantry at them. Feudal Tower Rush If you spam infantry at them, then instead of being a villager brawl, you have extra manpower that hits extra hard. They'll quickly give up on this strat when they see how much infantry you've made. Castle Age Knight rush Same as before: just treat them as infantry on a pony and spam your own infantry at them. The pointy infantry are especially good at reaching them. Castle Age Xbows A lot of people are confused and think this would be the time to make Skirmishers, but no, the key is to spam infantry at them. Take special care to spam the unique Vanilla-flavored Gothic Infantry at them, as archers are weak to vanilla-flavored things. You can recognize these guys by their white armor and they're also all conveniently named Karl. Castle Age Castle Drop As it turns out, Castles were built by men, and since we're so good at destroying things, we can destroy these faster than we build them too. This means you should adjust your eco so you can spam infantry at the castle. Again, the vanilla-flavored infantry are recommended. Castle Age Longswordsman spam This is a tricky one. The thing is that swordy guys have really pointy swords. As such, it's important you research your own pointy swords and spam infantry at them. That way, you can poke them just as well as they poke you. Imperial Age Now this is where things get tricky. By Imperial, the focus on macro starts to wind down and now extra care goes into micro. For this reason, it's really important you spam infantry at them and overwhelm them with your resources. It's often a good idea to mix in all kinds of infantry, from pointy boys to vanilla-flavored Karls. If you can master this technique, you'll be unbeatable in Imp. Practice AI Mix (DE/HD etc) between moderate and hard? Posted: 26 Dec 2020 07:59 AM PST Recently returned to the game and took a break from ranked to train my dad and brother. We're just practicing against AI for now and can easily beat moderate DE AI 3v4, but even 3v3 against hard DE AI I can't defend them both against the castle age attacks. Is there a mix of DE/HD AI I can use at either moderate or hard settings to help them learn without feeling overwhelmed or discouraged? Wiki still shows Korean Fortification bonus Posted: 26 Dec 2020 07:19 AM PST I know this isnt directly related to the game, but it bothers me to no end that the AoE2 wiki still shows the Fortification buildspeed bonus for Koreans (in the Civ Overview) despite that bonus not being a thing since DE released. I would have edited it myself but the site keeps bugging out for me, so can someone please try and correct it? Posted: 26 Dec 2020 04:15 AM PST So I create all sorts of wacky community style games for me and my friends to play, but I've come across a problem I haven't been able to solve yet. I want to activate a trigger depending on a range of inputs. Let's use converting a house as an example. P1 converts house from P3. P1 now has 1 more house than before, I can track that using the variables, and reward P1 accordingly. However how do I run a check for which player LOST the house, and activate a trigger in response. I can make it so that when P1 converts a house, all other players get their house count variable deducted by 1, but I can't see how to run a check for which player lost a house, and modify a specific variable depending on that. I made a scenario where there were kill counts, and each kill earned 50g and deducted 10g from each opponent. I only did it that way because I couldn't solve this. The scenario I'm making now works on capture points, where if a player captures a point they earn resources based on how many points they control. I suppose each capture could run a check for 'objects owned' for each player and modify the variable to equal that amount, but that's clumsy and requires the capture point to be a building players can't build themselves.
