| Posted: 16 Jan 2021 05:04 AM PST I hope to create a general place for discussion for all the live games going on. I'll update this thread with the match results as they take place. Hope we have good games ahead. Stream quality is off. 1st match: Villese vs Mr Yo 2-0 in favour of mr yo. A dominant performance by yo in game 1 Arabia with Vikings against Ethiopians. Second game on wings with Villese taking early lead with malians but those Aztecs monk pull it back for yo with garland wars sealing the deal. Overall a powerful start from yo. 2nd match: Vivi vs max Stream quality finally fixed Vivi with an unreal pressure as magyars on max with probably best empire wars civ ,Vikings. Vivi utilised that free attack upgrade on scs and denied gold for max so long with towers to finally take it home. 1-0 in favour of vivi. Max as magyars and vivi as Huns on haboob. Max pulls one back to make 1-1. Game 3 on sacred spring with max as khmer and vivi as Frank's. Vivi wins it to take the series 2-1. Group A, china boys come on top over Finnish boys. Exciting matches ahead. 3rd match: Daniel vs lieereyy Lieereyy with Ethiopians and dani boi with Vikings on Arabia. Dominant performance by lieereyy 1-0 for lieereyy [link] [comments] | ||

| Countries rated by number pro AoE2 players per million people Posted: 15 Jan 2021 11:03 AM PST I was curious to find out how many pro players (proportionate to total population) countries have so I went and found out. You could ofc have a wider scope of people be defined under "pro" but I chose to limit to top 100 because it simply would be time consuming to have a wider scope of data. I've decided to define "pro players" as the top 100 players in 1v1 DE elo (alt accounts excluded). I took the top 100 as of this afternoon so it might change slightly depending on what nationalities leave/enter the top 100. I had to exclude 27 apparent alt accounts so the data is the 127 top accounts minus 27 alt accounts. Here it is. Placing | Country | number of AoE2 pros per million people | (total number of AoE2 pros)
Update: I messed up and read the Italian flags as Mexican and I also missed Belgium. Turkey -1, Belgium +1, Mexico -2, Italy +2. Thanks to u/Akukuhaboro for pointing out [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 16 Jan 2021 07:05 AM PST Age of Empires II is a massive part of my childhood, I think I've spent over a thousand hours playing dozens of scenarios and campaigns over at AOKHeaven. When HD came out, it was a dream come true for my nostalgia. Even if the balance felt a little bit off, I was also sad to discover some of my favourite mods couldn't be converted such as Age of Chivalry: Hegemony. Recently, I've decided to boot up and play Definitive Edition and relive my childhood. More accurately, actually succeed and win some of the campaigns I never quite succeeded at when I was a dumb kid. I also wanted to look back and play some of the classics I downloaded from AOKHeaven but I can't find anything to suggest whether or not it is or isn't possible to convert .scn and .cpn files to DE. I saw the gameplay trailers for aoe4 vut its like they mixed aoe2 with Creative Assembly total serie scope for the map. It just feels off.... Posted: 16 Jan 2021 02:39 AM PST cant find anything googling it, i just wonder how its so insanely strong. i know it actively counters my units but also the speed at wich it develops armies and attacks in 1v1 on medium difficulty baffles me. Im new to the game (again after 10 years) and easily win on Standard difficulty but get stomped everytime on medium. Just to clarify, im talking about the HD Version AI.
