    Another showmatch, this time between Suomi and WWP for a prize of 500$. These games had some exciting late game but especially exciting early games with both Lyx and Rubenstock playing.
    I will link Lidakor cast timestamp for start of game under each game. Final result:

    3-2 for Suomi in a reverse sweep!

    If you only play single player- you should try ranked online.

    Hello

    Online matches you up against equally skilled players if you go into the ranked playlist - avoid the quick play or custom games for now.

    I noticed a lot of people saying they would get wrecked online and don't want to try, so they stay playing against the AI or do campaigns. SOTL also did a video a while back where he estimated over EIGHTY % of the active playerbase only plays single player.

    Online is 100 times more fun imo and you will not get wrecked, you will have really enjoyable games and actually win more than you lose (barring the first few match ups where it tries to find your elo - but relax about these and try just use them to get comfortable with the environment).

    Go watch T90 low elo legends, could you beat these players? If the answer is yes then you will be a good player online, and will find plenty of opponents just like you or plenty of team mates who think you're great.

    If you have ranked ladder anxiety, just google the term and you'll find a lot of write ups about it. Your elo is not a measure of your intelligence (no matter how many times MBL claims xD), it's a measure of how often you play and how much you try to improve (by watching others / seeking play advice) over just having fun. Just have fun with it and try not to care about your elo or anything else, take breaks, if you mess up and kill 3 villagers to your boar just try laugh it off and keep playing. It happens to all of us, even Viper (it happened to him today even). In fact, next time you're playing go ahead and purposely delete a vil just because, and you will never care again I promise you xD.

    One last thing, 99% of the opponents I come across are really friendly, helpful, GGers, who often add me as a friend to play more with each other or go 2v2 so much so I have to decline / ignore it often. Yes there's the rare idiot who says "ez" or tries to taunt you during, just feel bad for them and continue playing win or loss - they're at every skill level and unfortunately have their own problems.

    Please feel free to pm me or pretty much anyone in this great community if you want some guidance or a bit of hand holding for your first games, I would be more than happy to introduce you online. So go out of your comfort zone and click "find game" - it's really good.

    The Aoe2 DE Team should remaster Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds

    Now that the license for star wars games is no longer exclusively with EA, they should try to get Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds remastered.

    This game was AoE2 but starwarsified. There were extra mechanics that changed it up such as air units, power supply, etc. Not just a simple re-skin.

    So please get that game re-mastered so it works on modern systems and has online lobbies, I'd gladly pay 20 euros for that.

    Sorry if this is off-topic for the subreddit, it's really close to a star wars reskin of AoE2 so I'd say we could discuss it a little?

    Tati rush build order

    Here's a basic build order for the Tati rush. This build isn't destined for very good players, there must be 100 different ways to improve on this, but it's enough to consistantly beat the extreme IA, so it might be of use for low elo legends out here (it's good enough for me so it's good enough for at least 60% of us) who want to try something different. And I didn't find another one on the internet. I based this on several of Viper's videos

    For those who don't know the Tati rush, it's one of the most all-in strategies you'll ever see. The goal is to click up with 20 pop and then cease producing villagers in order to have a 3 range archers production as fast as possible. It's mainly played with Saracens because of their archers bonus. Finally, it's called Tati rush because it was invented by TaToH.

    Ideally, you want to push 1 or 2 deers in order to get the food needed as fast as possible. Don't worry about wasting sheep, you won't need all of them anyway. It's very important to push your deer quickly because you need to scout your opponent fast.

    Be careful not to be late with the mining camp as it's your 2nd building needed for feudal.

    Use your vills forward to build houses and help fight skirms. They can also help destroy enemy buildings and build a tower on a woodline/gold. And you can wall in his ressources if you ant to go full MBL

    After you've killed your opponent's army, send your archers in small groups to his ressources and kill his production buildings. Don't forget to put them in stand ground so they don't get under the TC.

    How do I disable technology in x3/x9/x256 tech mod in custom scenarios?

    Technology such as Hoardings/Forced Levy/Caravan can cause problems if researched too many times.

    How do I limit the number of times they can be researched or just disable the tech completely?

    I tried Option > Disable Techs and Triggers > Enable/Disable Technology, none of them works.

    Cuman 2 tc feudal + fish boom?

    I saw it in a team BF game i was spectating and it was really strong, but i was wondering how strong it really is. I feel like it's really strong and kind of fills a gap on the way to castle age.

    Google found me nothing about it sadly. Any thoughts on it?

    Future Game Mechanics

    I was think about what could be interesting future gameplay Mechanics for aoe if we were to redesign age2 or for age4.

    Wood lines are not impenetrable but there is a movement cost for some unit types like siege, archers would also be harder to micro in the forest and would have a reduced accuracy/range.

    Buildings can only be fully destroyed using Siege. Archers/mele units can disable a building which means it can no longer produce or research techs from but the ruined building remains on the map. Villagers can repair the disabled buildings back to working order.

    Towers can be occupied by enemy units if they are left open and havent been disabled (see above).

    Some units can traverse the map faster (fast march, gallop) but cannot fight and lose health during the fast move. Any health lost through fast move is regained but at a much slower rate. this would be used when trying to save an ally/get home when under attack etc.

    Siege is created with units operating the siege. Mele and archer units can kill these units which disables the Siege unit and leaves it on the map. Siege engineers can be trained from the siege workshop which can be used to replenish the siege units and capture enemy siege. Enemy siege can fully destroy a siege unit. if you dont want your siege captured you would have to auto destroy when you're down to last siege engineer.

    siege engineers can drop the siege and fight but they have low attack (villager/militia level) . when the siege is dropped it can't be used.

    Pontoons can be created from the siege workshop to traverse rivers.

    Range units like archers and skirms can fight hand to hand but have low attack and no mele armour

    similar to Konniks, scouts can dismount to maa, knights to long swords, cav to 2hs and palladin to champions. But this is not on death. the horse would have to be remounted and can be killed.

    Fishing ships are like herdables and can be captured if a galley class enemy ship can get within 1 tile with no other allied ship or dock within 4 tiles.

    Anyway just some silly ideas to share, none of which would probably ever get made but it's fun to think of them. Does anyone got any others?

    Magyar Strategy Question

    I'm still pretty new to the game and have only played about 10 ranked games (ELO about 950, but still dropping). My favorite civ right now are the Magyars.

    I followed the MAA -> Archers BO on AoECompanion and got some limited success with that. It works well until mid feudal or early castle, basically until the build order ends and then I don't really know what to do.

    I've tryed this strategy, but to mixed success:

    1. Create 3 Militia -> MAA and rush the enemy.
    2. Create 6 archers and add to rush.
    3. Transition from Militia to Light Cavs, keep up archer production.
    4. Advance to castle age, upgrade and start pumping out Huszars.
    5. Add Mangonels to defend against Pikes.

    So I mostly rely on gold unit archers, trash unit Hus(z/s)ars and siege unit Mangonels. Also, I defy expectations of a Scout rush, and archers are fully upgradable, while Hus(z/s)ars are a strong trash unit. I thought of maybe mixing in a few pikes to defend my archers against cavalry.

    What do you think of this strategy?

    Does the clock color represent slow game due to internet or hardware?

    The clocks next to ur score. Does having a yellow or red clock mean ur game is slow because ur hardware is bad or ur internet is bad?

    I sometimes get the yellow clock even when my CPU is only <30% utilized and my PC still has 20G of free RAM. The game is installed on an M.2 drive and I'm running the GTX 3070 so my hardware should be more than capable of running the game. If the clock does reflect hardware performance how can I get the game to utilize the untapped potential of my hardware?

    arena 1v1 sheep spawn

    hello,
    i was training some arena and was wondering, sometimes i had only 2 extra sheep (6 in total) - is this normal? i thought u always get 8 sheep in total (4+4 extra)?
    also how many deer should there be? is it always 4?
