Why are walls so underpowered? Posted: 16 Feb 2021 09:52 PM PST One of the things i love doing is making lots walls but thedefenses are always so weak. It literally takes 2 or 3 shots with a mortar to take done one wall or an army of soliders 10-20 seconds And why the hell should artillery be allowed to fire through walls lol? I built at least a 3 layered wall, yet my opanant could hit my factories with field guns THROUGH my walls. What the point in even building them. [link] [comments] | ||

AOE3 Custom AI: The Horsemaster + Custom Maps Posted: 16 Feb 2021 05:30 AM PST I enjoy this Horsemaster AI every week with my dad, and we exchange time playing games with it on my computer. I coded it, and I post as murdilator on heavengames.com. The days we aren't shoveling snow our family enjoys tea time and coffee, along with dinners with chicken, rice, feta cheese, or potatoes, ground meat, etc. The AI plays better WITH resources than without, but it can give a fair account of itself on treaty games, especially on Unknown where it booms with mills and plantations early in the game. I prefer Treaty 30 Minutes, on Hard or especially Expert, and on Custom Maps, Treaty 20; this is enhanced by the bigger start which I include on all of my maps. I do sometimes do 2v2, 3v3, or 1v1 with Treaty 10. http://aoe3.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=4112 Custom Maps: http://aoe3.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=4128 http://aoe3.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=4141 These Maps include 19 and 14 Original Maps, with 15-25k resources or 20-30k resources. I recommend 2v2 on Hard, or 1v1 on Expert vs Horsemaster AI. The AI trains 4 unit types, with a variation of about 6 different unit selections per civilization. It uses better Home City Shipments, training cards, economic cards, and ships villager shipments early in the game. Each Civilization trains its best units, and trains some artillery units or consulate units. Asians train mostly their own unit types, with Chinese and Japanese not using mercenaries, and India using mostly Ranged Infantry, Camels and Elephants. For quick games I have developed Legend Maps Set. These you start with full 90-100 villagers, and full population and 3-4 extra town centers. http://aoe3.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=4103 All my AIs have general N3O Coding, but work for the original Asian Dynasties. Aztec and Asians don't build gates unless they are enabled in the map or techtreey, which is a bug in the original game. All of my recent maps have gates enabled for the AI, so it clears up team games and allows these AIs to attack while their walls are up. The Horsemaster is also more aggrerssive than the N3O FP AI for TAD 1.03 and Helot Major, as 0.45 beats -0.5 in OffenseDefense. Please enjoy it and share!
