    New Player - What I can do better and some feedback

    I am having a Blast playing AO3 with my friends and although I feel I am learning quickly, I want to get better and have some feedback on what I can improve, specially with military units

    I started playing first with Portugal. With them I understand that their main strenght is to grow the economy, enjoy the free urban centers and that the backbone of their army is Skirms+Dragoons+Art. But I feel so weak with them compared to German or France, I feel get stomped on early, mid and late game fights. Now I put them on reserve to play onwater maps only (which my friends dont like playing) to water boom

    France...it was amazing the first games. I literally searched for "best treaty civ" and found them. And although I won most games, I did also lose sometime. What is the best military strategy here? Always go for Cuirrasier spam with Skirms and Art? Or Musks and Art? Or both Musks and Skirms? Should I ever use Goons here? Should I use trample?

    And finally German. After my friend asked me to let him play France against me, I took Germany cause I saw that War Wagons countered Cuirs, lol. It has been by far my strongest early game, and as our treaty is only 10 min, I can get some good rushes ready at 10 min with my Uhlans. But what army do I use on late game? Spam Wagons? Mix Doppels and Skirms? Only one of those, based on the enemy army? I also honestly feel that my wagons burns faster to my Chinese-friend flamethrowers because it is made of wood (jk by how I deal with a soam of those???)

    Also if it is not too much, what are the best decks for those 3 civs?

    When Musks or Skirms are better?

    How far I should go with tech upgrades on my market, mills and proprieties?

    I am doing wrong on using my factories to resources instead of heavy cannons?

    Anr finally, are the Xbox PC and Steam version the same or are they different? One can play with the other? Can I access my progress if I switch from on to the other?

    Age of empires DE worth it?

    Hey, I was looking for some citybuilder/RTS game, and found AOE that I have never played before.

    Wanted to jump into it, but I am not sure what would be the best experience? Its 2021 so starting the first AOE3 edition (2005) would be difficult due to bad graphics/QOL probably, but on the other hand I have read reviews saying that DE wasn't done so good, becasuse of so many bugs etc.

    So is it worth to try AOE3 DE right now after (hopefully) some patches? Should I maybe start with AOE2 DE? Maybe should I wait for AOE4 ?

    Do historical battles have some sort of default victory mechanic in moderate difficulty?

    It happened in the Ethiopia and New Orleans missions that I didn't really do much to attack the opponent since I am a pretty crappy player, and all of a sudden I have the game be all "Yeah, buddy! You did it".

    Is this a thing or am I trippin'?

    Why is there a delay between command and action & between sending messages and having them up in multiplayer games?

    And why is question mark doesn't work both in lobby and during the game?

    And why, 5 months after the release, I still can't send messages to friends or see whether they are online?

    So many questions...

    edit: apparently someone with bad connection won't make the match start. Even by pressign esc and accessing the menu I can't click on any button to exit or go back to main menu. I had to close the game.

    I'm getting back in the game now and I remember usually ageing up between 13 and 16 settlers with the british.

    I think I've seen something detailing that number in the past, but couldn't find anything in a quick google search right now.

    I suppose there's an ideal number for different civs...germans, french, ottomans would need a unique approach.

    So there's a general guide on that? if not, do you guys have established numbers for a generic civ and those specific civs? for a rush, boom? thanks in advance

    How does the online ranking work?

    Really miss the old sysytem where it was obvious to tell the skill level of a player by seeing: Conscript, Sergeant, 1st Lt etc.

    I am trying to figure out how to get wins to show up on your record while hovering over a player in a lobby...are those ranked only?

    Also what about the casual rank? Extremely frustrating this doesn't have a better ranking system.
