    I LOVED MR on HD, the maps were always crazy and lived up to the word. The DE version seems.... Shallow? I feel like every map is either open, contains very little wood, has rivers or otherwise some weird type of water with little fish that either adds no flavor to the map or makes the map completely unbearable.

    Low Elo Adventures

    I have been playing AoE2 since it came out, but I have decided I will record some of my adventures in low elo. I am currently ranked around 1100, but I've noticed that players around this elo are incredibly mixed - so many smurfs. Finally, I seem to be improving though!

    AI not traveling on island maps

    I read that the AI can't actually transport villagers in water maps?

    Because for every island map i've played the ai never tried to build on other islands.

    Is there a fix for this?

    Note - I play only Conquerors.

    Elephant archer isn't too impressive for some people.

    Shouldn't the Indians get a UU which is a hand cannoneer on elephant instead? The Indians specializes in gunpowder after all.

    What Civs are good for “Zerg rushing”? Any tips on openers?

    A friend of mine really wanted me to pick up the game (so he could stomp me). I'd like to surprise him by picking a faction that is good at getting a quick start and rushing out some units on him.

    I get I won't be able to win instantly, but I figure I can cripple his economy while I strengthen mine as my units stop him from doing anything

    Playing AoE2HD on Voobly with Linux

    This has been asked a couple of times in some shape or form but so far none of the answers has worked for me.

    My situation:

    I load up AoE2HD (no DLCs) with Steam which I open in PlayOnLinux. I use Ubuntu.

    I could install Voobly on PoL but it won't find the installed game. I would really like to use Voobly to enter some more active Multiplayer Lobbies and improve my skills.

    If you have any other ideas that don't use PoL I'm interested to hear.

    Do I need the DLCs for Voobly to work?

    Can anyone help me out? Big thanks in advance!

    How do I counter tower rush/castle rush/forward TC douche? Low ELO

    Almost every enemy I face does this strategy. The issue I have with it is this even makes victories against them unsatisfying because they'll resign as soon as the momentum shifts against them. For example if I kill a castle or two or a few of their barracks. But it's unsatisfying because it feels like I never really left my base.

    What most people seem to do is they'll put a tower and start building barracks, ranges right outside of my base. Then they'll spam more towers closer and closer and eventually a castle.

    I don't get how to counter this because in feudal I simply don't know how to kill their towers. Attemping to do so makes me take heavy losses. If I'm going archers I have to completely change my strategy. They'll start building a castle or tower. I feel like I have to waste a lot of wood building new farms in other areas outside of the fire zone or relocating lumber camps and because of this they'll beat me to imperial and trebs usually.

    Settings idea, moonwalk

    Moonwalk setting.

    Makes all units appear to walk backward, simple as that.

    Alternatively, units have an innate chance of changing direction for a set period of time while moving alone.

    Anyone else want this to be implemented?

    I also wanna see a boar run backwards now.

    In all seriousness, anyone else have other ideas like this?
