    Russia 1v1 Supremacy

    Posted: 16 Apr 2021 09:15 PM PDT

Is it official that Russia is the worst civ in the game for 1v1 Supremacy?

Despite the much-needed buff two patches ago, Russia is still lacking in something that sets it behind its peers in the game mode everything is supposed to be balanced around - Supremacy.

Japan and Lakota didn't exactly get nerfs, Ottomans can still blind FF for easy wins, and decent Aztec and China players have figured out the meta and can go toe to toe with the others for the most part.

But Russia is just severely out-meta'd and predictable and doesn't have an eco to back it up like Brits, France, Dutch, or Germany does. If the rush is fended off even a little, it's very difficult to recover. Difficulty in recovering is fine - a failed rush shouldn't be rewarded, but it shouldn't be punished as badly either. Any other civ can cut their losses much more efficiently.

A small buff to make it a slightly more competitive and forgiving while not ruining treaty and team games is much needed, and I suggest reducing settler cost down to 255f. That's 15 food saved across the 54 seconds it takes to spawn the 3 settlers. It's not a lot - by the time they've spawned their 3rd batch and gotten to 14 settlers that would be a 45f addition. That'll by no means turn an underpowered civ into an overpowered one as some have suggested.

I also suggest that trickle cards add a 5% yield to their respective resource, this will also help China-Germany consulate for those who still feel they're too weak.

As for other civs, I think India needs house cost increase by 5w and Ottomans need the initial settler spawn rate to be reduced by 3 seconds (this can be gained back in the third mosque upgrade), and for Japan's shrine income to be reduced by 3% as I've suggested in another post.

    Thoughts?

    Shout-out to the Devs

    Posted: 16 Apr 2021 08:04 AM PDT

I didn't really know what flair to add for this, but I just wanna say I am very impressed with the USA in AOE 3. I was a complete nay-sayer when I heard about the leak and thought of all of the dumb ways they were gonna be added. All of the implications of adding USA and not Mexico, Brazil. Why there wasn't an African civs which was a logical step I feel. But they killed it, they really did.

The USA is very very interesting and really embodies the many reasons I prefer AOE3 over 2. Every game can be extremely different. Not only do they carry the slight differences between the Euro civs, but the states mechanics adds an extreme amount of interesting flair that you really only get from the American Natives. Just wanted to say thank you to the Devs and I am super pumped for the next expansion they come out with. If this is what we get in AOE3, I cannot even imagine what will be in the future for the game and also what will be in AOE4.

    USA is weak?

    Posted: 16 Apr 2021 09:13 PM PDT

I have been trying 'Merica! against the AI. I keep getting destroyed late game. Even with all army upgrades, I cannot seem to beat late game armies.

Any ideas, build orders or deck composition that could work for very late game play?

    Thanks!

All Map pool doesn’t include Naval maps?

    Posted: 16 Apr 2021 11:20 PM PDT

Has anyone else found this? I always play with All Maps and don't think I've played a single naval map since DE's release.

I've been missing Caribbean, Amazonia and Ceylon.

And I know there is an option for Naval Maps only, but when I play All Maps I want to play ALL maps.

How is the current technical Status of AoE3 Definite Edition?

    Posted: 17 Apr 2021 01:59 AM PDT

    Hello!

I played AoE3 in the past quite a lot and got excited about the DE when it came out. But I had to give the game back on Steam after 1 net hour of playing because it was crashing after 15-20min or so. I read there were a ton of other issues.

I wonder, is it worth getting, by now? Are the technical issues fixed to a degree that it's like at least playable without crashing? And how is the multiplayer stability?

United States Challenges are AOE's version of the Battle Pass

    Posted: 16 Apr 2021 06:19 PM PDT

This event for the United States civilization reminds me alot of what many other large franchises are doing with their "battle passes". I like it. It gives the user a chance to earn a new civilization instead just buying the DLC. By capping it to 3 challenges a day, it drives the players to continually return and play the game. I look forward to seeing how hard the challenges become and what the United States has in store.

Question, has anyone tried messing with their systems internal date/time? Wondering if changing it would fool the Game into thinking it was a "new day" and we get to go for 3 more challenges every "next day"?

    Ideas for African civ mechanics?

    Posted: 16 Apr 2021 08:21 PM PDT

The USA is super unique and mechanic filled. Assuming the African civs are similarly "out there," what can we expect?

I have no idea personally lol

    Doing Challenges in multiplayer

    Posted: 16 Apr 2021 08:00 PM PDT

Is it possible to do the 50 US challenges in multiplayer? It doesn't mark the challenge as complete unless you click "begin" from the challenge screen, but it doesn't seem to have any options to make it a multiplayer game even though the challenges state to "do ____ in a skirmish/multiplayer game"

Strategies and deck recommendations for treaty games

    Posted: 16 Apr 2021 11:36 AM PDT

After being defeated by fortress rush for several times, I decided to move on to treaty games. I would like to know what civs are the best for treaty games and what decks should be included in treaties. Thank you.

I’m having a lot of fun playing as the Germans

    Posted: 16 Apr 2021 04:16 AM PDT

What a solid CIV I have never really played much with cav and now, oh boy! their unit composition is so solid especially when you have uhlans war wagons and skrims I'm loving the mercenary aspect too you can get a very strong standing army which covers each other's weaknesses the only thing i need to learn to incorporate is siege. I know about the Dops but with those other units it costs so much gold. What do you guys like about Germany?

Is the United States Revolution still in the Game?

    Posted: 16 Apr 2021 02:54 AM PDT

Busy with other stuff (Halo Trilogy), so I haven't reinstalled AOE3 yet--Did they keep the U.S Revolution for the British, French, Dutch, and Swedes? Or have they removed/replaced it, what with the new Civ and all?

If they haven't, then isn't that a little...weird? I mean I prefer it over losing content, but still! What would a match between the U.S Civ and U.S Revolution look like?
