Sending ironclad shipment after revolutions for US civilization quest Posted: 19 Apr 2021 10:59 PM PDT Am not able to send the ironclad cards from homecity after researching revolutions. It says I have already reached the maximum allowable limit of 2 . But I don't see it on the map. Am playing as french. Edit: It worked for me, we need to revolt to US for that to work. First time I went with the 3rd civ and it did not work. Thanks everyone [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Apr 2021 10:02 AM PDT Hi everyone! I'm a very old but very casual aoe player, having played the original when it came out as a little kid but still losing in AOE2 in hard. I remember being very confused and overwhelmed when I tried aoe3. It has so many cool ideas and concepts but the card system put me off. Civilizations being so unique is wonderful but on the other hand it made it harder to switch between civs or understanding what the other player have. I know that if as you play it, all these things feel more natural, but want to know if there are tips that can help me to enjoy the game from the beginning. If it helps, I want to play as Inca (I had a wonderful time in Peru when I visited.) Thanks! [link] [comments]

What if Tomahawks did melee damage at ranged, like before the Warchiefs Expansion? Posted: 19 Apr 2021 12:38 PM PDT How would that affect Haudenosaunee's strength as a civ? Do you think the unit would be stronger or weaker as a result? [link] [comments]
Bug report - AoE3: DE - Crashing while picking Cards Posted: 19 Apr 2021 04:13 PM PDT Sometimes, when I pick a card from Home deck, my game hard crashes. Happends mostly in Multiplayer games sadly, but its not consistent. Happends around 1 in 5-8 matches (havent played that much lately, so its hard to give real perspective). Anyone else having this issues? Not sure if this game has crashlitic but I could give at least time for my bug report next time it happends. [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Apr 2021 04:47 AM PDT Hello there, I'm trying to learn iro on aoe3 (standard edition) but It seems that I'm missing something; any tips for this civ? I'm a noob that plays with friends and I usually pick India, China or UK [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Apr 2021 11:24 AM PDT Similar to my last post, I'll be examining these units and comparing their stats and cost ratios to get an idea of how these units fare in the late game. The biggest question right now is how Imperial Regulars fare against Imperial Volunteers especially. All upgrades are researched including Age 3 combat cards and all Springfield Armory techs. Stats with flag bonus are in parentheses. South Carolina gives Volunteers more attack from US flag. Cree Tracker comes from Pennsylvania Age 2 embassy, which has a card that gives infantry HP +5%. --Imperial Regular-- Cost: 60f 50g (110) HP: 345 (379) HP/Cost ratio: 3.13 (3.44) Damage: 55 (60), hand attack 32 (35) Received: 20% hand damage resist Multipliers: no ranged, x3 melee vs heavy cavalry, 2.25x melee vs shock infantry Rate of Fire: 3 Range: 14 Ranged Damage/Cost ratio: 0.5 (0.54) Speed: 4.4 --Imperial Volunteer/State Militia-- Cost: 50f 35w (85) HP: 289 (317) (if surrounded by 30 other SM: 347) HP/Cost ratio: 3.4 (3.72) (if surrounded by 30 SM: 4.08) Damage: 33 (40), hand attack 16 (20) Received: 30% ranged damage resist Multipliers: 2.5x vs heavy infantry, 2x against ranged cavalry, 0.75x cavalry Rate of Fire: 3 Range: 13+4=17 Ranged Damage/Cost ratio: 0.38 (0.47) Damage/Cost vs heavy infantry: 0.97 (1.18) Speed: 5.5 --Champion Cree Tracker-- Cost: 40f 80w (120) HP: 570 (627) HP/Cost ratio: 4.75 (5.225) Damage: 19 (20), hand attack 9 (10) Received: 10% ranged resist Multipliers: 3x vs heavy infantry, 2x against ranged cavalry, 0.75x cavalry Rate of Fire: 3 Range: 18 Ranged Damage/Cost ratio: 0.15 (0.16) Damage/Cost vs Heavy Infantry: 0.48 (0.5) Speed: 4.4 --Conclusions-- This test more or less confirms what I suspected when I did my initial comparison test yesterday, here. As we can see, due to their Royal Guard upgrades and potential upgrades obtainable, State Militia scale incredibly well and are actually more survivable for cost than Regulars by far, especially against ranged enemies, and the cost ratio is even skewed more towards Regulars here because I'm not weighting 60g as being higher than 35w as I should be. Two Imp Volunteers under flag shooting at a target deal 80 damage to a Regular's 60 damage, and in my humble opinion this makes it so late game regulars really don't have a purpose since melee armies are going to be rendered redundant by gatling guns, and hand cavalry can be made redundant with the Dragoon card, Uhlan card, or even a mass of Carbine Cav, which you can afford if you aren't spending money on Regulars. And no one is going to send pikes at a wall of State Militia, even Rods would get chewed up by that. The mass unit HP buff also really works for State Militia here since spamming them increases their HP by 1 point per neighboring SM. It may sound like I'm being harsh against Regulars here but the efficiency statistics seem to speak that if you can gather even a small amount of wood to get State Militia up to Veteran status, and get them the Rifleman card upgrade from age 3, Regulars are a genuinely pointless unit so long as you can support State Militia with Huss/Goons/Carbines and Gatlings. Use gold on Gatlings and Carbines/Goons instead, and use a food/wood strategy to get the goon card, apache cav, Sharktooth bows, and so on. I'd like to see pros try to put this into practice because it may change how the US meta works. Oh and the Cree Tracker is completely pointless and not worth the money, hilarious HP pool notwithstanding. [link] [comments]

Does the game still crash on 8GB RAM and require huge page file? Posted: 19 Apr 2021 02:07 PM PDT I used to play with like 15GB pagefile, otherwise the game kept crashing midgame. I'm planning to return to the game, is it better now? [link] [comments]
Could somebody please tell me what the karelian Jaegers are in history? Posted: 19 Apr 2021 07:56 AM PDT I mean historical prototype, like dopplesoldners used zweihander in landsknecht for the Dopplesoldner or Landsknecht [link] [comments]
How do you do the Louisiana challenge? Posted: 19 Apr 2021 01:17 PM PDT I've built 3 town centers on the bayou map but no dice. Tried doing it with the explorer too but nope. [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Apr 2021 11:45 AM PDT I'm pretty confused, tried searching and experiments, but how do I get the Gatling Gun in game, in Age of Empires III Definitive Edition? I see it on the tech tree, after a revolution I guess, but which revolution to pick when it gives you the options for the Russians, for example? I know it is in the game since you can add it in the scenario editor, but I have tried revolting multiple times and have never gained access to the gatling in the siege weapons building. Posted: 19 Apr 2021 11:38 AM PDT Can any decent Portuguese player help me with what military units to make, I usually make dragoons and some form of artillery but the dragoons just get slapped up by enemy units and I can't counter it with arty because the enemy just makes culverins.
