They are given outposts with +3 los but their outposts see at the exact range of any generic outpost after town patrol is researched. Outpost get primarily used during imp for map awareness. But like truly like avatar, when the ethiopians needed its bonus most, it vanished. This used to be the case with slavic farms as well but they fixed the issue. Ethiopians deserve the same respect. User can do it themselves of course, but in reality many people don't and match thread discussions dry up overtime as a result. I really love the sticked matchtheads, so hopefully the can be sorted by new going forward. This is sometimes done in previous matchthreads but not reliably. The question came up because I wanted to play magyars so I have the option to go for archers or scouts/knights but everyone is dissing them for their generic economy. Rant about devs choices for the next map pool Posted: 25 Jun 2021 12:34 AM PDT https://www.ageofempires.com/news/rmr-20210629-vote/ It's completely beyond me why they keep putting team island in the 1v1 map pool and island in the team game map pool. While team island is kinda ok for the 1v1 map pool, island in TG looks to me way worse team island. Landing are a lot less interesting since you can land just one opponent at time, you can't really trade, it's just a boring grind on water with little to no space for variation in my experience, while team island has delievered some good games in the latest TG events it was featured (2v2 WC for example). Posted: 25 Jun 2021 12:14 PM PDT Hey guys, been playing AOE for years but only realised the ranked element a couple of months ago and it opened up my world. Played about 30 games of 1v1 and can't seem to get my in game score up. For context I normally play Tuetons for cheap farms thinking that it helps my eco boom. I seem to constantly be slow and behind others regardless of following build orders and then find myself becoming a little overwhelmed in the mid to late game and preoccupied with score. What advice would you give to someone like me that follows the build orders then seems to get left behind in late Feudal to early Castle? Thanks! My thoughts are can't go archers can't protect my gold thus gg if they deny it. Can't go fc without interior gold. Scouts will not give long term pressure. You know, when things are heated, its hard for me some times to adequatelly do the double click. Historical accuracy (no rants) Posted: 25 Jun 2021 01:12 PM PDT If you observe closely, except for Imperial Camels for Indians, Camels are really based on geography and history. Maybe only regular Camels for China and India, but that's okay. Cumans - a civ originated in Central Asia has access to Camel Riders. They later settled in Europe (Hungary/Bulgaria) and do not have heavy camel riders. Another similar technology is Parthian Tactics. This is more of an optional technology since it basically has the same effect as Ring Archer Armor. The recipient are different however. Parthian Tactics is meant to support Mounted Archers, while the other one supports all archer type units. Having access to Arbalesters but not Parthian Tactics means Cavalry Archers won't be used with otherwise full upgrades (like Chinese). It is the switching between the two which gives the Cavalry Archers the distinction or rather a denerf. Important civ is Mongols. Other civs are Japanese and Saracens. However, I am not entirely sure why Lithuanians had Parthian Tactics in the beta. I am glad that it was removed. Kudos to the devs for maintaining the historical accuracy of these 2 techs.
