    Nothing against pros like Viper and Hera, but I find it interesting how we are so quick to complain about/belittle/disapprove of or simply not appreciate the effort the Devs go to, to give us the very game we are currently all here for.

    Like even if a patch does bring bugs,the intention is to better the game for all of us.

    They don't intend to make someone angry,they intend to please us,yet we are so quick to complain about literally everything.

    I mean FFS how much effort to bring us coop campaigns Which don't necessarily earn them a penny. We don't pay an upkeep fee yet we have servers that work far more than they don't. Yet we have hordes of complaints.

    They make aoe4 and we have hordes of complaints about what the game should be instead.the price is too high etc etc.

    Yet if one person says a bad word about viper or Hera and the world has a heart attack, People literally gang up on them.

    Tips/Guide for an anxious noob to start playing Ranked Matches

    As the tittle says, I am a noob who hasn't played online except co-op with my wife on modarate 2v2. The maximum difficulty I have played is Hard and I am comfortable with it. I am extremely anxious to play in Hardest. Same case with playing Ranked. Both I and my wife want to play Ranked matches but we are extremely scared of getting Drushed and Flushed. We are also scared of unexpected circumstances and coping and thinking straight (deep). Can you folks tell us things like how matchmaking happens, what ELO does a person initially start with, and if these build orders actually work or not. Also how to progress on starting ranked matches?

    Only I can run the actual game fine, I wouldn't have thought CaptureAge on top would be too much to handle, but it's completely unusable. Is that normal?

    game won't register commands bug

    After pressing windows + space and typing, the game won't register any commands even though I can move the map and see units moving. Anyone else have this bug?

    Can someone host a showmatch between TheLefty and Controller Player with quirky settings? I want to see both of them struggle. Willing to drop in a few bucks for the prize pool.

    Co op campaigns

    Hi would anybody be willing to try the new co op campaigns with me? I don't have any friends that play aoe2 and I usually dont bother with the online competitive scene (my laptop doesn't pass the minimum specs for online play higher then 1v1) but I use to play alot of competitive games on HD so I am not new to online play, I think my laptop can do co op since it runs the single player game no problem. You can reply here or aend me a DM

    New Update Plaguing Players with Crash/Disconnect, Possible Cause

    Got a random "Alt+f4" looking dc and was looking around the forum/reddit and looks like couple people here and there have come across the same problem.

    Usually people describe their problems as "looks like I 'alt+f4'd the game" or "game freezes, I can press buttons, but nothing works." something like that.

    I believe it's caused by new achievements that got added, the event ones may be.

    Everyone should check their log files that gets created at the same time as a dump file in Users/<Name>/Games/Age of Empires 2 DE/ logs

    You will see a dump file here and there, which is created when there is a crash or some type of error. If you look for a log that got created at the same time as that dump, you will find some type of error code like this, mostly at the end of the file. It helps if you sort the folder by Date Modified.

    Been getting the following.

    Edit: Reinstalling game/graphics driver didn't help.

    Edit2: Looks like disconnecting from Xbox services ingame might be a temp solution. Looking closer at the error log, looks like it's getting an error when it's trying to sync the achievements. New feature that got added this patch.

    [Editor] How to modify attribute on renamed units ?

    When units are renamed, the modify attribute effect doesn't affect those anymore. Is there an way to have renamed units and have the modify attribute effect work properly on those too ? Cause there are things only "modify attribute" can do, like changing the line of sight, or the projectile unit, etc...

    How many civs do you have a special game plan against?

    I have a special anti Franks game plan since I'm 1300 and I see a ton of them and Franks players pretty much all play scouts into kts. I have a plan against Cumans 2TC. I get boars early vs Goths or Vietnamese but from then on they are not that special. I relic chase vs Lith. I go for early archers vs Japanese. I prepare against cavalier flood from Burgundians. I try to full wall early vs Mongols.

    Most other matchups I kind of lump together "archer civ", "camel civ" "cav archer" "Goths" "Meso" but these are my special game plans.

    How many special, well scripted gameplans do you have?
