Why do so many people dislike Age 3? Posted: 08 Aug 2021 09:45 AM PDT I am newer to the series. I started Age 3 with DE and I started Age 2 DE about 2 months before 3 DE came out. I like both games but from what I have gathered is that A) 2 seems to be a hall of a lot more popular than 1 or 3. and B) People seem to be really down on 3. Why is that? What is it about Age 3 that turns people off from it vs Age 2? [link] [comments] |

Certain nerf of the African Civs? Posted: 08 Aug 2021 09:06 PM PDT Clearly the African civs are not balanced at all but are AOE devs really that committed to giving us a balanced game? It took them months to balance Swedes which was not as powerful as these two. Do you think it will take them months to bring out the almost certain nerf of these African civs too? Games aren't that bad but some match ups are just a bit stupid. I also ask this because I'm interested to know if you guys think it will be worth learning the intricacies of this complicated civ or will this all get nerfed too soon? [link] [comments] |
Joining Ranked Games Seems to be Broken Posted: 08 Aug 2021 07:11 PM PDT Is anyone else having trouble joining a friends ranked game? We are able to join initially but almost immediately afterwards we are removed from the lobby. Pretty frustrating when you see your friend in the lobby and you queue and then when I found a game my friend was left behind. [link] [comments] |
Just out of curiosity. Do people really buy a DLC because it is STRONG? Posted: 08 Aug 2021 08:10 AM PDT Almost every strategy game I played (AOE, total war, etc.) usually releases DLCs with at least seemingly absurd new factions, which might and might not get nerfed sometime later. Every time I see a million people complaining about or making fun of that and saying "well they have to make the DLC op so that they would sell". But do people really buy a DLC just because the new factions are strong? Because I'm not that kind of player (and I rarely anyone like that). I prefer most factions in the game being fun and interesting, and if I got tired of playing one of them I would have the motivation to switch to another one, so the rest should not be extremely dull or extremely easy. I bought the African DLC not because it is strong but because it adds a lot of new fun contents, such as new units like cannoneers, not the ability to get 9 of them in age 2. I assume the competitive players would definitely not like that idea of continuously adding broken factions either. Or is there a silent majority of players that really enjoy wrecking a casual opponent or AI all day long with the new broken factions? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Aug 2021 07:26 AM PDT A decent group of them can down a hussar in one volley, in hand to hand they absolutely shred and at range they don't even trade too badly with other infantry. On top of this they are very cheap to produce. I have been using only Ethiopia since the DLC was released and by my reckoning they are a very strong unit at LEAST. [link] [comments] |
Hausa and Ethiopia Imperial Age gathering upgrades Posted: 08 Aug 2021 10:38 AM PDT Do they have a food upgrade for imperial age? I can only seem to find wood and gold. [link] [comments] |
