Will I eventually start playing less aoe2?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2021 02:24 AM PDT

Why in the world is aoe2 so addictive? Like my eyes are literally purple and I'm soo tired but I just cant stop playing. Is it worth trying to play less or will I eventually get less addicted to aoe2?

After 200 ranked matches I finally found a winning strategy to get above 1000 ELO: Turns out FC into knight spam on Crater is all it takes! Feels better than I'd like to admit, honestly

What happened to all the archer civs?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2021 08:07 AM PDT

There hasn't been a new foot archer civ in DE yet. The closest seems to be the Tatars since they get free thumb ring in Castle Age, but the last true one was the Vietnamese in HD. Is this a design choice? Is the design space for archers too limited?

Crashes + Fix Requests Thread for Dawn of the Dukes

    Posted: 10 Aug 2021 04:23 AM PDT

As we all know, the new DLC is going to introduce code and configuration changes, and as experience tells us, that will with 100% certainty mean a plethora of bugs and "features".

To make everyone's life easier, let's gather all such input into this topic so the devs are better positioned to provide quick, intra-day fixes to the most critical ones.

Arena maps without safe wood lines

Arena maps without safe wood lines

Has anyone else noticed changes in wood lines on Arena lately? From time to time there is only one safe line (which is fine), but recently I played a map with no secure woodline from the beginning. Forest on both sides of the map, but both with open gaps.

Is this just me being picky, or shouldn't a safe woodline be a part of map generating?

Is it just me or the game has started crashing recently?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2021 03:55 AM PDT

So I was on the verge of winning two 1v1 RM maps yesterday when the game just suddenly stopped. I was playing EW maps today and the same thing happened. It never used to happen before. I don't know if it is just a problem with my pc or is it due to a bug. It never used to happen before. Is anyone else facing the same problem?

What laptop should I look at getting for online play?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2021 08:16 AM PDT

I'm looking at getting a new laptop as mine is old. I've been wanting to try DE online but the current laptop is well under the 900 performance rating for ranked games.

What laptop should I look at getting?

I'm really enjoying the coop-campaigns, but they feel a little bit too easy!

    Posted: 09 Aug 2021 10:46 AM PDT

I'm a big fan of campaigns and enjoy the coop campaigns even more, because playing together is more fun. But I feel like they didn't increase the difficulty of the scenarios, making them a little bit too easy with two players. Are there more people who have this experience?

Aargh this Hardest AI is really pissing me off

    Posted: 09 Aug 2021 11:14 PM PDT

After how much I've played well with my build orders, and learnt to force drop food thanks to many of you redditors and archer rush better, the AI just keeps getting the better of me every damn time...

I had a decent lead against the AI in Feudal Age in terms of score, then I was going for an archer rush and pumped out 14 archers with 2 archery ranges, and the AI JUST HAS TO HAVE 20 SKIRMISHERS READY... I mean c'mon a normal player won't go all skirmishers, seriously how does the AI even know... It's just always prepared for any surprise I try to give and I struggle to even kill 5 of its villagers by the time his big clumped up army arrives... I mean look the Hard AI was annoying in the start, but it won't always have 20 pikemen or 40 skirmishers prepared to defend... This Hardest AI just bugs me in terms of how its always prepared for everything I do... And then I can't run away easily with 14 archers, they're slow units and I don't have anything else that's good to fight back Skirmishers in Feudal age, and I know it's gonna be bloodbath trying to fight off 20 skirmishers, and the AI lives with 15 of them and brings back knights into my base, and I was like "here we resign again"

So I tried to learn my mistakes the first time I went against it...

    1. Bad Build Order mistakes such as waiting for food after the first boar instead of force dropping, and really thanks to the guy who told me to do that, it gave me quite a good lead, and in fact that's why my score has always been up/more than the AI's atleast till most of Feudal Age...
    2. I learnt how to pump up more archers in lesser time and that's been fine

But what I do struggle against is

    1. How does the AI always come prepared for almost every attack of mine!?!?
    2. In maps like Arabia, walling up is almost an impossible task, and in early Feudal/Castle it's even worse... In maps like Coastal it's surely easier with more forests around to help...
    3. People say I could build towers to drive the AI away, but you never know what it's gonna attack first, is it the wood line? the gold line? the farms?
    4. And somehow the AI's attacking skills almost always beat mine, I do micro stuff like pull Knights out of a pikemen guarded area, and send them all into attacking the trebs/onagers or make all troops focus on one troop at a time to get kills faster, but still I don't know what I lack here either...

I'm sorry I'm asking for help the second time, but I did come this far and I don't know what I'm lacking to take it down and finally get the satisfaction
