    Alright. Who said that?

Just saw this on the AOE3 fandom page:

    https://ageofempires.fandom.com/wiki/Age_of_Empires_III#Trivia

    https://preview.redd.it/v6x20hnj3s181.png?width=1216&format=png&auto=webp&s=1b14b74ac6b3aa49409a126fada30ade985a8939

The reference is of course that Bruce Shelly article that people have probably seen several times (most of times being slapped on the face with it by someone else). But that article only says the reason is they feel the game is too different.

Now, what is the actual source and historical basis for the statement " due to the fact that the game was set in a time with very few empires"?

Anyone who can edit fandom please take a look at this.

    Mexican Explorer Names

    Posted: 25 Nov 2021 06:22 AM PST

so imma be playing mexico as soon as they come out, and now its time to discuss the most important aspect of starting a new civ: naming the explorer

skill at the game? doesnt matter

creating build orders and defining the meta? doesnt matter

THIS SHIT is whats really important

now i have 2 possible names that i already thought about, and im looking for new suggestions in the comments. for reference, my united states explorer is named "raspberry von rubenstrifer" my aztec explorer is "sex's with wolves" and my indian monks are "tony" and "rob"

vote on my explorer names below

is there any patch/mod to roll back Haudenosaunee(Iroquois) voicelines?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2021 12:39 PM PST

Okay I get it, historical correctness is important. But having same voicelines for EVERY SINGLE FUCKING UNITS is not fun for gameplay-wise. And this is not coming from "based" white guy. Im a random Asian guy who's fucking tired of playing Starcraft, and played AOE1 Rise of Rome when I was elementary schooler.

Shouldn't These Glaring Balance Issues be Addressed Before Adding New Civs?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2021 09:22 AM PST

Speaking from the top 150 in ladder and having exploited these civs successfully myself:

    India on Water:

    - Extremely little risk, extremely high reward with little to no effort to pull off. The new Ports on water civ.

    - Increase dock wagon build time on time significantly like they did with Iro to delay it slightly.

    British:

    - Excellent eco and army all game with little effort or risk. Go-to civ for anything.

    - Add 3 seconds build time to manor houses and increase wood cost to 140w.
    - Decrease manor house build bounty XP by 4 xp.

    Inca:

    - Native rush is absolutely oppressive and best rush in the game with no drawbacks. Tambo start is rewarded too heavily in the most recent patch with the new synergies.- Kallanka build is still broken, especially when combined with FF - which can be pulled off far too easily and quickly. Shouldn't be able to FF then mass that many huaracas and bolas that quickly, and then keep full batches of units going indefinitely.

    - Add 5w cost to Kancha house, making it 185w.- Reduce starting food by 50.

    USA:

    - Saloon builds are extremely rewarding with little drawbacks, and even more so in team games.

    - Decrease coin trickle from saloon from .6c/sec to .3c/sec.

    Ottomans:

    - Need a mid-game Abus buff, late-game Jan buff, and a very slight early game eco buff.
    - Decrease base settler spawn rate by 1 second.
    - Decrease Abus base attack to 35, increase ROF back to 3s for synergy. I did the math extensively on this and it does not make abus significantly better or worse by any margin, mainly just for synergy.
    - Increase multiplier against light cavalry to 2x instead of 1x. Keep 0.5x to ALL cav, this way 2x to Light cav this means they will give away the base damage (1x) instead of only .75x.
    - Buff Age 4 Janissary School card to also decrease training time by 10% as well as increase HP and attack by 10% (That's 21 HP and 2 attack).

    Thoughts?

Looking for a mod they make a minor change to the United States

    Posted: 24 Nov 2021 08:44 AM PST

I was wondering if there's a mod that allows the US civilization to build churches and recruit priests. I get that the decision to have the US build meeting houses instead is meant to represent the fact that the US is/was secular without an official religion- but historically the US utilized Chaplains to minister to the armed forces and most frontier towns had a church, so I thought it would make sense for them to be able to recruit priests and it seems a bit anachronistic for them not to.

Any advice regarding the celebration event?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2021 11:15 AM PST

I'm trying to complete the Day 2 challenge of doing 2013 damage to infantry units, but I can't for the life of me seem to complete it. Any advice? I am also aware that two challenges cannot be completed on the same day.

    Thanks.
