- When I right-click here, I tell the units to attack the gate, even though it is meters away. Foundation Graphics? Yes, but them having such an insane Collision box is BS. Why do the graphics change the Collision box?

Posted: 11 Feb 2022 08:02 AM PST Rubenstock on his interview with Nacho AoE , said that Andre can't win because he has a stonewall behind castle and the front is being taking cared of with the Town Center. What if he patroled 1 berseker so that the castle won't hit it, then immediatly send the villagers to kill the stone wall, and when it's done, he kills the castle? Would it be possible? Idea: Age of Empires Tetrathalon Posted: 11 Feb 2022 11:25 AM PST I got this idea during a conversation T90 and Dave were having in WWC about the amounts of pro players from AoE2 competing in high level AoE4. So I thought: why not host a tournament that would require participants to compete in four different RM events: AoE 1 AoE 2 AoE 3 AoE 4 I thought it could be a sort of champions league for the top 2 players of each game, where all of them would have to play a FAA 8 player showmatch. Points would be awarded based on the placing of each player during that match (first place wins 7 points, last place wins 0). To make it interesting you could even play 3 matches of each game, so that no unnecessary teaming up occurs against an obvious favourite. After all the matches are played, if there is a tie for first, a BO3 1v1 match would be played, with the first match game (ie, AoE2 or AoE4) being decided randomly and the remaining two remaining games decided by the loser. I thought it was a nice idea to bring all the AoE community together. It would also allow viewers to learn about the dynamics of all 4 games. Thoughts? [link] [comments] | ||
Posted: 11 Feb 2022 06:26 AM PST Hi Everyone, I am just having some issues running AOE2 DE on my laptop. I have a ThinkPad T495 running the latest version of Fedora. The specs of the laptop are as follows -AMD Ryzen 5 pro 3500u -AMD Radeon vega 8 graphics -256gb SSD and 16gb RAM The issues I am having is mainly to do with some kind of weird stuttering that always happens. I will be at a constant 60fps and then the game will stutter, this will happen every 4-8 seconds no matter what. Also, the main menu lags and opening a singleplayer game (clicking on singleplayer in the main menu) will take around 10-15 seconds to load up the game setup screen. I managed to fix these issues on the previous patch with the PUP beta + Proton experimental. Interestingly enough the PUP beta + Proton 6.3-8 had the stuttering as well. Since the release of the new patch the stuttering is back and I am stumped with what to do. I have tried running the game through the Proton experimental and Proton 6.3-8 but to no avail. Otherwise performance isn't really an issue, on the ranked benchmark test I can get 1030-1100 score and on the night I had the PUP beta + proton experimental working I managed to play 4v4 team games with my friends with no issues. I did everything Hera said, and yet look at where I am Posted: 11 Feb 2022 05:04 AM PST I'm consistently trying to beat Hardest AI on the hardest format - Arabia I did perfect 21 pop scout rush multiple times, I end up reaching it around 9.30-10 minutes. 14 on food + 6 on wood one And Hera said always make the enemy chase your scouts around and you can keep pumping more in the process, and it worked till I had 8 scouts and even bloodlines The AI as Persians kept massing archers like there was no tomorrow, I did kill a few villagers and return and was also training villagers till I had some 16 on food and 14 on wood and a few on gold. Then the AI started mixing in Scouts and Spearmen with around 25 of them and then I realized my rush was coming to an end and while I thought I could make him chase me more he went into my base and destroyed all villagers, I did garrison try fighting but this same thing keeps happening in cycles. Every match ending in 20 minutes in cycles at this point I'm not even able to see the light to castle age at this point. My score is even equal to or sometimes more than the AI by a few points upto early and mid feudal but I really don't know what the AI does after that that makes me lose so bad. Hard AI wasn't this hard. I don't even know what more to do at this point I've done everything as I could. Okay maybe not everything, I usually send few villagers from food to wood the moment you click up. But maybe cause of 6 on wood, I don't get enough food for farms + barracks + stable, probably delays me by a few 30 sec - 1 min and probably gives AI upperhand on production But even then despite a higher score I lead with and all that idk what I'm missing out on, too many harsh defeats rn and I really wanna improve my game too Maybe I don't wall up either is that a mistake?
