    Coming back to aoe 3 de. couple questions

    What is dlc? I know it has to do with new civs like Ethiopians, but not with less new civs like Inca.

    I always thought I knew the mechanics of unit counters. But what's shock infantry?

    I'm used to legacy key bindings. Is it worth it to learn default?

    Playing the campaign and historic battles in ways you aren't supposed to is some of the most fun I've had with AOE3.

    Most of you probably know the campaign and historical battle levels aren't very difficult even on the "hard" setting. But if you ignore the objectives and set your own goals, they can be a ton of fun. Some including....

    1. Defending the wall for hours in the "Siege of Malta" level using outpost towers and TC's backed by xbows.

    2. Settling your TC on the same island as the pirates in the third campaign level.

    3. Completely destroying the bone-guard base in the fountain of youth level before attacking the fountain.

    4. Destroying the enemy's base before "reinforcements arrive" in any of those "hold out for 20 minutes" levels.

    5. Staying in your current age whenever the first objective is something like "reach the fortress age and start training artillery so we can attack the enemy."

    For those of us who don't like to grind on multiplayer and instead prefer more casual fights with bots and/or playthroughs of the campaigns, I wish they would release more campaigns for this game like they do with Aoe2 DE. I used to grind Starcraft II ladder and that grind just isnt for me anymore. Plus, rts multiplayer has steep learning curves and can be stressful/frustrating to play. I understand people like me are probably the minority in the player count, but still it would be nice to have new campaigns exploring various aspects of the colonial period (yes i know they release individual missions with new dlcs and those are fun, but I want more of that!)

    I also get that Aoe2 DE probably has a higher player base and is more popular (hence more campaigns) and that its probably easier to create new Aoe2 campaigns since the graphics style is less taxing on developers. But again, i think it would be cool to have new Aoe 3 campaigns, especially ones the feature the new civs so you can get a taste for them in a casual setting. Like wouldn't it be cool to have the Italian and Malta release with its own campaign to showcase the civ mechanics and also some of the history? Any others out there that feel the same way?

    I tried to play often the last week but every time there is a bigger fight i got the disconnection alert. I don't know what ro do, I scanned for issues in Steam, i reinstalled the game and i scaned the pc for issues but nothing get better, is there a solution for this problem or is it only me having it?

    As AoM had visual inspirations in films such as The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Clash of Titans, Jason and the Argonauts etc, would have AoE III inspired by The Conquest of Paradise?
