How to make a treaty deck : quick guide

    Posted: 19 May 2022 04:01 AM PDT

As a treaty player I always see 2-3 players each game that have wrong decks, which means they lose shit tons of ressources and powerful cards. Learning how to create a treaty deck is an easy and impactful thing to do if you want to maximise your power spike. Mind you, most guides are way more thorough than this guide but I just want to give some quick tips for treaty decks because too many people neglect them.

Golden Rule : late game card > early game cards

You want cards that impact the late game as much as possible and be as greedy as possible :

    1. NO ressources crates except 1-2 infinite crates for the very late game
    2. NO villager cards
    3. NO military shipments, except some infinite ones but overal useless in treaty
    4. Pick as much cards that boost your army's stats as you can
    5. Pick as much economic cards as possible
    6. If the map has native settlements and you have native cards, consider adding them to your deck.
    7. Water boom is good but be sure to have access to water and that the treaty building outskirt don't rekt you. Don't forget that only wales are infinite.
    8. Mercenary cards are overal bad because they are not the most cost effective and cost lots of pop except Jaeger, black riders etc.. (Sweden, Germany... are good civs for mercs)

That's it, when you have a wrong deck in treaty you lose so much score and eco.

    7 Falconet Fast Fortress

    Posted: 19 May 2022 03:00 AM PDT

So I know its more of a cheese strat, but I enjoy it. I can pull it off with Logisitian Spain quite consistently (6-7 Falconets + 8 Pikes from aging). Today I played that into Sweden and China and the Falconets easily cleaned up everything they had. I am playing at around 1000 elo, maybe it doesnt work at higher elos.

I was wondering on what other civs that strat is easy to pull off. I was thinking Germany (good FF and eco to save for the cash required to get falcs.

Anyone here that enjoys those kind of strats and pulls them off with different civs?

    Hard match to overcome

    Posted: 19 May 2022 01:47 AM PDT

    Hi guys,

today I have a match vs 5 of my friends (me with 2 extreme bots vs them 5).

I would say that I'm better than them on average.

I'm a main Lakota player and also somewhat USA.

do u recommend Lakota or USA in this match? (most likely they will rush to get me first with a 5 team army)

ofc if they focus completely on rushing ,they will be open for attacks from the 2 bots and that's my trump card.

    any advices or suggestions?

    Thanks

List of weird maps with new mechanics added to the ranked pool

    Posted: 18 May 2022 12:46 PM PDT

So in the update preview patch notes there's a ton of new maps added, some of which are absolutely insane (2x starting TCs and resources, forced nomad start with only 3 vills and no crates, etc.) but most of the weird ones aren't being added to the matchmaking right away. However, out of those that are being added I thought I'd make a list in case anyone wants to mentally prepare for some odd circumstances:

    • Balkans (solo and team, has capturable Outpost-like buildings in the middle)
    • France (solo and team, has capturable TPs like Saharan Routes)
    • Vistula Basin (solo and team, has lots of capturable "Mills" (1.5 food trickle))
    • England (3v3/4v4 ranked, starts with max Railroad upgrade on TP lines)
    • Low Countries (3v3/4v4 ranked, players start with 1 "Mill" and many capturable Mills throughout)

I haven't played these and some of them may change by the time they release. Also, I assume all the capturable things will be guarded by natives.

Am I the only one that wants AOE team to ban looking at other team's deck?

    Posted: 18 May 2022 11:24 AM PDT

Topic! I don't think it makes the game any better having to click and look at the opponent's cards in a match.

    1. it's not a fun thing to do
    2. it takes element of surprise out of your strategy
    3. it makes game more mechanical

    Ottoman Arsenal Oversight?

    Posted: 18 May 2022 10:59 AM PDT

So it took me +100 hours of gameplay to notice that Infantry Breastplate only buffs hand infantry and foot archers. Ottomans have neither in the barracks. An argument could be made for the odd native civ or barbary corsairs, but Otto's dont have much incentive to use native troops and the latter are just plain irrelevant.

Should this tech be removed or replaced? In the latter case what unit and what aspect should it improve? Personally I feel Otto's are in a decent place and I don't really need a tech thats overwhelmingly strong - just some dead weight pruning will do.

My personal opinion is that it could give Janissaries/Nizams 10% more melee resist. They're concept is to be a better musketeer via superior durability and this seems in line with that - 30% melee resist means they fight hand infantry/cav better than other musks but still have less ranged damage.

An extension of the last idea is make it improve the resistances of all heavy infantry. So; Jans - 30% melee resist, Grenade - 60% ranged resist, Nizam - 30% siege resist. Beefing up another 10% hp might be a bit much, imo.

Samurai are overpowered for early game (age 2)

    Posted: 18 May 2022 05:00 PM PDT

When I play against the Japanese, they always get fast samurai and with only one samurai, they can kill 3-4 vills easily and I can't do anything to hide all my vills, their samurai is way too fast.

    Tool for Treasurepropability?

    Posted: 18 May 2022 05:00 PM PDT

I'm searching for a tool to get the chance of spawning for each treasure. I just startet Datamining but didn't understand the code about Treasures, so it would be nice to get a tool for the Treasurepropability if there is one.
