There should be an option to turn off the chat censor

    Posted: 15 May 2022 08:26 PM PDT

(1250 Elo)Ran into a guy today who cursed me out for walling (after he tried and failed a lame, then towers, then a siege push). He resigned when I got my castle up, but I really wish I could've seen more of what he was saying. Was like 6 messages in a row just completely censored. There should be an option where I can turn off the in game censor for people cursing at me.

DauT attempts to lure a pig

    Posted: 15 May 2022 04:32 PM PDT

After 300+ games I’ve finally crawled my way (back) to 1,000 ELO after dipping as low as 600-650 when I came back to the game a couple months ago.

Opinion: armored elephants are a great edition to the game

    Posted: 15 May 2022 03:57 PM PDT

I haven't been on this sub for a while so I don't know what the consensus is. But I think AEs improve the game without making it unbalanced. They're basically the same as rams - at least in early castle age - yet they do have one major distinction: they're upgradable in CA.

I personally love doing all-in 1 TC pushes, especially on arena or wallable open maps. These can be easily stopped by building a castle. On arena, if your opponent has a well-placed castle it can be almost impossible to push them in CA. You basically have to sit back and get to imp so you can treb or bombard it down, which leads to a boring stalemate in the interim. But with armored elephants, if you're willing to go all-in and get all their upgrades, you can get a unit that's much stronger than a ram that can enable you to raze castles without having to go imp.

TLDR: Armored eles are barely different than rams, but they're different enough that they make going 1 TC HAM in castle age a more viable option.

    edit: syntax derp

Did you guys watch Vinchester vs Sitaux on Land Madness?

    Posted: 16 May 2022 12:15 AM PDT

Crazy and long game from their Resurgence match in case you missed it! Never would have imagined that I'd see a Land Madness map almost become a wood game 11

    May PUP?

    Posted: 15 May 2022 09:57 PM PDT

Not sure how long it's been out, but I can't see it mentioned on aoezone, SotL/Ornlu or the official forums - does anyone have any idea what the changes are in the May PUP?

An observation about The Resurgence decider matches (spoilers for Sunday games)

    Posted: 15 May 2022 07:59 PM PDT

TaToH in the last four aoe2 S-Tiers, Holy Cup, King of the Desert 4, Wandering Warriors Cup, and The Resurgence. In all four, he had a set in which he only needed to win one out of two games to advance when he was up in a series, and lost both of the last two. (Resurgence - this was against Villese in the winner's matches, but he also lost a decider game to saymyname)

It's been talked about before that TaToH loses nearly all of his decider matches. But now with another tournament through, it's even more extreme.

Tati man, if you're reading this, no disrespect intended; I'm still pulling for you.

When is it BM to keep fighting?

    Posted: 15 May 2022 04:27 PM PDT

So I just had a game with a friend that left a sour taste in my mouth. Basically I was on the backfoot for a while but kept defending.

When things started to look bad, I began to build up a side force to hit him from behind, which I did just as he managed to break through in my base. This resulted in both of our ecos effectively being dead.

We then kept up a sort of cat and mouse chase where we would both kind of cycle around the map, razing each others buildings while building up again.

After 2 hours I offered a draw, and he insisted that it was BM for me to keep playing, even though we were even.

I get that from his perspective he broke my home base first, but what does that matter if I broke his just soon after?

After three hours, it ended by him discnnecting and going silent.

I guess what I'm trying to say is: AITA?

    Beginner questions

    Posted: 15 May 2022 03:10 PM PDT

I just started playing aoe for the first time. I'm playing the African campaign-sundjata. My goats are behind a fence and I can't harvest them. How do I?

What is the hotkey for go to scout?

When I was playing the tutorial I selected anywhere from 5 to 10 villagers to work the farm but they just sat there doing nothing. Is this a bug?

    Thanks in advance

    Portuguese organ gun question

    Posted: 15 May 2022 02:41 PM PDT

So I don't like being the Portuguese because I'm not a fan of gun powder units. Also, I have never been able to successfully attack with organ guns. Having said that, I played someone the other day, and they did fast castle, and created a huge army of just organ guns. There was nothing I could do to counter. What would be the best option to counter such an attack? First time I have been attacked by a load of organ guns.
