| The Infamous Imperial Gendarme... Posted: 15 Sep 2019 10:33 PM PDT How to beat these monsters and their instant spam? I play as Ports, I make my Jinetes and devote whatever Cavalry-Upgrading Shipments I can to beef up my Dragoons. When I battle, I do a hit and run with them and occasionally let one or two lag behind so the Gendarmes stop and don't catch up, and if they catch up I break up the group. What's the proper way to micromanage against Gendarmes? Is there some other unit I should be using? I've thought about meatshielding with Halberdiers but have never tried it. A lot of times the problem becomes that I can't kill the Gendarmes more quickly than the French player can replace them, and I can never take attention away from killing the Gendarmes to siege a wall because the Gendarmes will kill everything. Is it a viable strategy to just trade blows with a French player until their Eco stops as a result of Gendarme spam? How have you beaten pure Gendarme spams on your own? With Portuguese?
