| Whoever said Japan's eco is weak in treaty! It's eco is no way inferior to any other civ if you know how to realize it during actual game play against similar level opponents, especially in team games. Posted: 25 Nov 2019 08:35 PM PST  | In a game on Great plains (no native TP that help boost resource gathering) which lasted close to 1 hr 20 mins (40 min treaty and 40 min fighting), Total resources of Japan (yellow) 470,493 > French (Blue) 468,667 (including fur trade of almost 125,000) & French Red (452,346). - One can argue that French (Red) didn't use Fur trade but French (Blue) did and still Japan (Yellow) beat both numbers.

- Japan's eco is strong and more than enough to support Japan's unit. French need to and usually gathers more since French's units cost a lot more. In the above image, Japan (yellow) trained 1856 units with almost 40,000 less resources than French (Red)'s 1931. Almost double units than French (blue)'s 1056 units with 100,000 less resources.
- Japan (yellow) also did tribute 26000 resources, most of it coin, to French (blue) and still left with 52,000 more resources by the end of the game.

- Superiority in economy reflects in military might with more units killed than either of the two French and more than double units killed than other Japan (orange).

- What about Ports (Purple) having the highest resources gathered and most unspent resources? How does Japan (Yellow)'s number compare? They trained 90 less units and spent 60,000 more resources on units and still left with almost equal unspent resources to Japan (yellow) when accounted for 26000 resources that were tributed.

- Sure, purple maxed out villagers sooner and gathered more still proportionally, Japan's eco is no way inferior even with 24 less villager limit.

- Gather predominantly food during treaty and

- Most paddies on Coin after treaty ends. Shrines on wood. Japan need Yumi, not just Ashigaru alone to do well in fighting.
