Age of Empires II Co op Campaign?

Age of Empires II Co op Campaign?

    Co op Campaign?

    Posted: 28 Mar 2020 06:47 AM PDT

    Howdy folks,

dear folks, Recently, me mate and I discovered that in a multiplayer game we could share control of the same team during a match if our team colours and civilization were the same. We we're wondering if there is any way at all possible to apply these same effects with a campaign mission. Is it possible to move campaign files from where they are to a custom game? It could be fun to play co op.

Was inspired by other post to find my OG version of AoE2 from 1999

How can I use the 'AOE1DE Anniversary' home picture again? It disappeared once the event was over, but I'm still sub to the mod... I love that picture.

Help an 800-900 elo brother in need

    Posted: 28 Mar 2020 01:53 AM PDT

What I found was that my booming build order is on point after watching countless tutorials and playing the booming tutorial. I always outboom my opponent.

My problem is that I get soo carried away outbooming that I end up wiuthout preparation to fight off my opponent who has a large army massed up (800 elo u will see almost no fights till late castle or imperial).

I usually go scout rush in feudal and then pretend like my opponent doesnt exist till late castle when I start making army's.

When exactly should you start making armys.

I see people making 7-8 barracks or archery ranges or stables. just exactly how many unit producing house do you for a late game spam??

I usually just make 3 of each and try to mass my army.

    Edit:

Also, yesterday after getting steam rolled by my opponent who had wayyyy less villagers around 30 vill difference I got so pissed and beat the extreme a.i on arena by going fast castle and steam rolling with eagles and arbalest. Very satisfying.

Scenario Editor: How to make 'obedient' allies and vills?

    Posted: 28 Mar 2020 03:38 AM PDT

I cant figure this out. I want an ally that does everything exactly what I tell him to do. For example, I want to add a few vills farming for aesthetic reasons in their town. I use Task Object to assign them farm work with Trigger Loop every 15 seconds but after they are done collecting, they cant drop off the food and just start to glitch out... I set their AI as 'None', every other type of AI just starts to explore the map, which I dont want them to do.

So how do I tame the AI allies to do exactly what I order them via triggers? Villager behaviour is the most difficult for me to figure out.

    National rankings for aoe2?

    Posted: 28 Mar 2020 04:09 AM PDT

Hello. I'm aware of the sight aoe2.net in which you can see all players ratings for Aoe2: DE. I wonder if it's possible to sort all these players by nationallity, and further creating a national ranking. Maybe someone has already done this?

    cheers

    Current state of the Cumans

    Posted: 28 Mar 2020 03:38 AM PDT

After their massive nerf, what sort of shape are the Cumans in? Every aspect of their gameplay was weakened and now they are way below the top pics and barely see any play whatsoever.

What would you change about them?

Do devs need money to fix bugs? What can we do to make bugfix faster?

    Posted: 27 Mar 2020 08:05 PM PDT

Just a quick question, since the game is so cheap and has an online mode and no in-game purchases. What would motivate the team to work "faster"? Who do I send money to??

Every week with bugs is another week of people leaving the game, getting mad, trying other RTS or simply moving to a MOBA/FPS. Age 2 playerbase is not that huge already, at my rank I struggle to find games in south america, (around 10 to 15 min) and usually get paired against opponents way worse than me, and im not even in top 300 yet.

    For devs:

I changed starcarft for age2 because its less APM and more strategy (or maybe equal strategy, but no need to spam keyboard 300 hotkeys per minute), but this state of the game is really sad. I know there are over 35k online on Steam + unknown how many online from microsoft ID and if you search the complains here have 30~150 upvotes, so is a really tiny part of the playerbase that talks about the game or even bother complaining, but we are the most die hard fans I assure you devs we are, we care so much we spend precious time writing about it. please consider this and do something, Im really in love with AOE2DE, but the worries will make me go back to SC2 soon. Please keep me in your game, I would like that very much. Thank you.

text-based play-by-play of pro replays? anything like this?

    Posted: 28 Mar 2020 08:11 AM PDT

I'm a web developer and working on a new AoE training tool and what I need for this prototype I want to make is a text-based play-by-play of pro replays.. ideally with timestamps included.

So in an ideal world this would be replays from the top 10 players that would look something like this:

    00:01 build house
    00:02 select scout
    00:03 scout -> waypoint
00:04 town center: queue villager (1)
    00:05 assign villager(2) -> sheep
    ...
    05:00 build barracks
    ...
    07:00 queue feudal age upgrade
    ...
    09:00 feudal age
    ...
    xx:xx build castle
    etc

you get the idea. The timestamps above are just fictional

Even if I could get this kind of text log without the timestamps it would still be useful

The only way I can think of getting this kind of text log right now is writing it all manually.. which seems like a ton of work

Are there such text logs that exist for existing replays? Or maybe is there a tool to parse replays and extract this kind of information from them?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

New to the game and not sure if im setting up my ai games correctly

New to the game and not sure if im setting up my ai games correctly

hey, so I got DE a while back and started playing recently. In order to learn the game I started watching guides as to how to start out each game and some classic openings. When loaded into a game to try these myself i was presented with a lot of things already done for me, like a barracks, some farms, and a blacksmith while most videos I watched the players start with nearly nothing. I was wondering if there is a specific setting that I have set properly that is causing this as I believe I am starting too late into the game. Thanks! (p.s. I attached my game settings so you guys can take a look)
