    Yesterday for example I read everything on reddit about it, watched 2 hours of T90 videos and then, when it was the perfect time for me to play it I was like 'nah, I don't feel like playing now'. Maybe it's more fun thinking about the game than playing it. To engage in a AOE2 ranked match is such a huge mental effort that very often I feel lazy to start.

    NEW PATCH: Game is now unplayable on Ranked

    No ranked games are starting, someone always crashes/disconnects before the game has even started, rendering the game over before it has begun. Game has crashed on me multiple times during matchmaking. Sometimes it just instantly closes out, sometimes it goes to 'not responding'...

    The devs have screwed something up badly...

    After 10 attempts, literally no ranked game was playable. If a game even starts without anyone disconnecting at the start, it happens after 5-10 minutes. I even tried an unranked game wherein someone left or possibly disconnected, then not much later my game froze while I could move the screen. So basically I disconnected. The game is literally unplayable right now and we need a hotfix.

    Can't play multiplayer since update.

    Been playing multiplayer before the update, now I get this error whenever I start the game "The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140_1.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." When I press "Ok" the game starts.

    And when the game starts, it says "Failed to connect to multiplayer services."

    I've tried resinstalling the game twice, verifying integrity of game files, and starting the game in steam offline mode.

    Any ideas on a solution?

    Finally found the new Easter eggs, through cheating. The new TRADE WORKSHOP. It is actually a market+towncentre as you can see in the picture. Once built, it functions like a market to sell resources and also creates villagers through slot 1. The side effects is unable to create villagers at TCs.

    4 easter eggs in the new patch

    Remember when DE was released the Xolotl Warrior was called an easter egg. So methinks the 4 easter eggs mentioned in the new patch update log are units.

    I seem to have found 2 of these through the Genie Editor.

    1. Trade Workshop: It isn't a new one per say. It is an unbuildable unit. But hear me out. Remember having played Fortress? You already started with towers built. So in Dark Age you could actually create more towers which in other games needed you to advance to Feudal Age. This building works the same. If you have access to this building, you can create more of these. The problem is it is hidden in editor, and I haven't found a way to create this.

    2. Donkey: To be honest this is nothing but a new skin for Trade Carts, but with a twist.

    a. Costs 100F 50G, instead of 100W 50G

    b. Approximately 30% more gold generation as per game files

    c. Does not receive any attack from Leitis (this may not be a feature but a bug, but that's okay)

    d. Quite low speed, the same as Dark Age Monk

    e. Increased gold generation and lower speed makes gold generation worse than trade carts, by approximately 8.7%

    f. Donkeys are created at Trade Workshops, rather than Markets, but drop the gold at Markets

    g. Donkeys have 20% less collision box, hence less likely to collide.

    The villagers are obviously all equipped with bows for hunting. But why can't they use them in battle? Maybe it could be something resrved for hunt oriented civ like the Mongols, or something you could unlock through a tech.

    I just want to be able to say that I treated my opponent like a pig.

    Thoughts on new ranked map pool? They seem rather one dimensional.

    I love the dynamic of having rotating map pools for ranked games. Really rounds players out needing to learn each strategy well rather than being an arena only player (though one of my fave maps). Can't really rely on one civ only too. So the new patch gives out

    The new maps seem rather one dimensional though. Bog island and continental seem to be basically about water control. Golden pit and kilimanjaro are take center control.

    Am i missing anything or does it really seem more one dimensional this time for these maps?

    Elephant Archers in the new patch

    The attack reload time of Elephant Archers has been reduced from 2.5 to 2, which is a 20% reduction. To put in context, this is the same boost as MONGOLS FASTER FIRING CAVALRY ARCHER BONUS. The Gold cost has also been reduced from 80G to 70G making it a much more viable unit.
