Best land units to counter ships. A lot of ships. Posted: 04 Jun 2020 12:30 PM PDT Guys, I just lost a custom map which is 70% water, and a bunch of small islands spread all over. At around 75 mins, it was 2v1, me being alone and cornered on one small piece of island. I took this opportunity to wall up, build a shit ton of mortars and outposts - all fully upgraded. Managed to defend a few rounds of full on naval attack, but eventually lost - partly because I had no wood and my market was destroyed. My question to you guys is - what is the best land unit to counter ships in late game (post all upgrades). Please have some rationale and quantitative backing to your answers, would be helpful to weigh the pros and cons of various artillery units. [link] [comments]
Do the old AOE III discs require some kind of login/code? Posted: 04 Jun 2020 12:18 PM PDT I have all the old discs for the base game and a couple expansions and I don't want them anymore so I was going to donate them somewhere. The thing is I don't remember if the game had DRM that required a single use code or something like that, since if it did I'm sure I already used it. I don't have a disc drive anymore so I can't check. So basically what I'm asking is this: If I donate the discs to good will, can someone buy it, install the game and run it no matter what (as long as the disc is in)? Or is there a possibility that they'll get a message like "enter a code" or something? [link] [comments]
Play online with the "old" version? Posted: 04 Jun 2020 06:23 AM PDT Can you play with players from steam ( and MS Store I guess? ) online using the old version of the game from back in the day? I still have the CDs and keys for the base game aswell as expansions lying around somewhere and don't feel like paying almost 40 quid for the complete edition again when the DE version should be coming soonish.
